During the Fantasia tribute at the Grammys, I said to my Mom, "Those two girls were Tina's backup dancers." My Mom said, "Oh, I thought the blonde (Ferly) looked familiar." Last time, my Mom saw Ferly was back in 2008 at Tina's concert. Tina definitely let her musicians and dancers shine to the point where you won't forget them.
Saw Tina, Turner in Wellington NZ, such a small venue, in the early 1990s she played for such a small audience, a real consummate professional, and made eye contact with her fans, never regretted paying for her creative gifts she worked hard and earned it all, Rest In Peace Tina, and trust your faith rewarded you when you passed. ❤️🙏
When you had been around that business for as long as Tina was, and been abused like she was, then it is understandable a person like Tina would make sure the people who worked for her were all treated equally. That is so good to hear! Without everyone in the entire ensemble needed to put on a show, there would be no show. Period. If anyone wants to see how Tina acknowledged everyone on her crew just watch her 2000 concert at Wembley Stadium in London. Just before she performed "Proud Mary" near the end of the show, she made sure to introduce the entire band, dancers and even her live audio engineer by name. If she had the time she probably would have named all her roadies, too. It seems Tina was a decent person in so many regards, unlike it seems the majority of employers around today. There is nothing like being abused to give you a heart to treat everyone fairly! 👀👌😎💖
These dancers are absolutely, frigging amazing! Does everyone know how much work goes into the choreography??? They MAKE the show. Saw them with Tina Turner in Holland and they blew me away. They do NOT get the credit they deserve and it's def sexism.
Yup, I’ve heard the same thing from all of the interviews I’ve read and seen. And Janet and Tina happened to share the same manager coincidentally(Roger Davies).
Only Tina could integrate a couple of dancers that made it look like they were an integral part of her daily life. Every time i think of Tina live, I automatically think of the dancers as well. And of course the image comes from the fact that they too were brilliant, worked as a team, looked fantastic and were visably enjoying every moment on that stage. I really hope they sre still working and still happy ❤
I figured Tina Turner was awesome..she gave that vibe. I noticed that for the most part she's had the same band her whole career since the early 80's. That says something.
I dont think Tina paid them anymore than standard, but i believe they stayed in the same hotels she did and had all their meals and behind the stage things fully taken care of. All her dancers did their own makeup. She did her own as well. She wanted it that way. The physcological transfomation one makes getting ready for the stage
Hearing Tina was one of the good guys... priceless
She is spot on about Tina and about there’s a difference between a boss and a leader!! 🎯🎯👏
That's probably why a bunch of musicians and dancers stuck around with Tina for a long time. She was fair and a good boss to everyone.
She was a standout in Tina’s last tour. The most awesome dancers to the most awesome woman rock artist of all time
She was by far the tallest
