This is the best podcast about America's job hunting scene ever !! Really taught me not to become too happy even after getting a job in USA despite so many interview rounds. Thank You Yudi for making this and special thanks to Rahul was choosing to share it with the world. Rahul's story is very inspiring indeed 💯💯💯
Duke isn't Ivy League, but I do get your emotion. There is more to a job search than being from a decent/good college/program. Your degree doesn't go to work everyday, you do!
Even after earning a PhD in Health Sciences from Hungary, I am struggling immensely to find a industry job from past 8 months, both in Hungary (whole European union)and in India. I am not receiving any calls or positive feedback. I feel completely lost and useless, and my interest in education has entirely vanished. If someone asks me for advice about further studies, I would simply tell them to get a bachelor's degree, enter the workforce, and gain practical experience. This path will never make you feel like a beggar. I've tried everything, from writing cold emails to sending LinkedIn messages to recruiters, but nothing has helped. This struggle isn't even motivating me to pursue a postdoc. Nowadays, I feel like education is just a scam to earn money, even the fellowships. Very very much frustrated. This is so hard.
I'm sorry that you're going through a tough time,,you must be someone special getting a PHD it's not for everyone your values and dedication got you there already, you are successful many people can envy your achievements... So do not let your current situation define you,you are smart,a hardworking person I know with your attributes you can achieve everything you believe in. Your hardwork will payoff some very day that's what I got to say❤
True especially for Tech sector ..it is gone . From this decade it is going to be dark phase for tech people year after year. Everything is going offshore.
Yudi, can you interview someone who's doing MS in ECE/Computer Engineering. Very few current insights on RUclips in the VLSI/CPU design engineer space.
Intel will be laying of 17500 people by the end of 2024. So as a 2024 batch pass out I don't even know whether I should be going into VLSI. It's such a niche field where finding a new job is not easy.
I personally like your videos, but the thumbnail of this video is not justified, I feel the word EXPOSED used here is wrong, the person in the video is sharing his academic and job search journey, not EXPOSING the american dream
Hi Yudi. I really want to know. I followed you as an inspirational youtuber. But I see only Harsh Reality, Be sure to know & more negatives rather than positive side of US for prospective students videos this days. Why is that so?
No ...just analyze the numbers ..how many students used come by year from india ..from 2021 how many people are coming ..you will get answer ..domt spoil your life .
Please suggest some of the best universities with less COA as I was rejected because of higher cost 63 k . I have a very good GPA so please suggest some of them for business administration and management. :?
Bro civil jobs are abundant right now in USA ..i dont know how long it gonna continue ..but salaries are relavtively low compared to IT ..bit IT job market is down from 2 years and almost all companies are moving its workforce to other countries like india, brazil.
Hi Yudi I had a question. If we set the opt start date to let's say July 20 and have EAD but a company wants us to join on July 10. Will this cause the company to rescind the offer?
Tough one. Out of two whose coursework do you like the most? Also any cost difference? From location perspective- hands down Stevens. From Campus - Syracuse is beautiful but Stevens has the NYC skyline view But I need to know other factors from you.

Thank you for this comment, it means a lot. I was told that "why are you making 1 hour long videos, no one has time for that"
Thanks Rahul for speaking your heart out. You have guts
That’s what I told him. He is brave, kind and bold to speak the truth.
This podcast really felt personal ❤
This guy went to an Ivy league university and still struggled to find work. So what chance do us average students have?
You all got this! Everyone's story is different.
US is just lottery . But problem is USA has over supply of indian students from last 3 years ..better to avoid US if you really want a job.

10 days - most company will be flexible. But more than 3-4 weeks is where the company might move on with other candidates.
