I recently went back and watched a few of her older clips and archives, and I can't believe how forced her higher "kawaii" voice sounded. The current Suichan sounds so much more natural and I wouldn't have it any other way. That utawaku and the ballad songs fit her perfectly and was a real blessing to watch.
I've loved Suisei's voice, whether talking or singing or being weird, before and after her change in voice. There's always been a certain way she expresses herself that's drawn me in. Even though she's standing far above where she once started out, I'm glad we're still able to express our love to her properly
Agreed, even myself became a fan just bcuz of hearing her voice from a random clip recommended to me. For me, there's just that pull from her voice may it be her natural or singing or her random ones.
I'm glad she's finally learning to like herself. Unironically, switching to her natural voice only made her more popular. Personally, I think Rushia has the ideal female speaking voice, but normal Suisei voice comes in a close second.
As far as vocalists go in general, not just within Hololive, Suisei is among my absolute favourites. There's such a magical amount of depth in her voice. Her tone is clear and bright, but not without it's edges and a very distinct, biting attitude. The force behind the emotional ballads and the gentle caress of her lullabies showcases just how absurd her range is, not to mention the raw strength, that awesome _power_ that she can exude on such a consistent basis. I'll always sing Suisei's praises, because she's worked so hard for such a long time, she's great at what she does and she absolutely deserves every good thing that comes her way. Fellow Hoshiyomis; pledge with me to always support our wonderful comet and to never stop letting her know just how fantastic she really is. Highs and lows will come and go, but nothing will change the fact that she's *_always_* cute today, whatever that day may be. ☄️☄️☄️
That is *exactly* how I would explain it. I always think of Towa and Watame's singing voices. They got some real heft but Suisei has that 'pop' sound too. Clear, bright, but strong. Similarly, I think AZKI is the about the same; though closer to Okayu with the aspirated sound.
Thanks for the translation! It might be hard to understand from our POV, when she's been banging out amazing songs and utawakus, but I think she's always been a bit insecure about her voice. Whether it was when she wanted to swap voices with Kanata, that Acoustic stream when she wanted a clear voice instead of her husky voice, or when she was a bit saddened during her voice change. It must have been a huge boost in confidence when her fans and the people she looks up to (e.g. InoTaku, Nanou) praises her voice and singing ability. I'm very glad that she's come this far!
I sincerely cannot comprehend not having confidence in Suisei's voice given how genuinely amazing it is. I've never really been much into music; I never listened to any one song regularly. After discovering Hololive though, I slowly started falling in love with the JP girls' music, and after discovering Suisei, I now listen to her voice nearly everyday, be it from a recording or just having it stuck in my head on repeat. I can safely say that Hoshimachi Suisei is unchallenged when it comes to being my #1 favourite singer and artist, and I doubt that I'll come across many other people with such raw talent and diligence as her for the rest of my life.
God I fell in love with her voice after listening to Tenkyuu a year ago and she still is my favorite singer. Beautiful beautiful voice. Even her talking voice is really pretty to me. Her singing voice is another level.
Oh, I was hoping somebody would clip this. Thank you! I'm really glad she got over her insecurity about her voice. Still remember how nervous she was on her last birthday when she changed her streaming voice. Please whoever is cutting onions, stop.
I didn't want to get attached to any of them, because it would hurt when they're gone. It would definitely rain when Suisei retires. It's too late now. Gotta stay until the very end now.
Yeah, she's struggled a bit with her voice especially since she had to work with different keys in her covers where as the others were working with the originals. In the end, it really worked out the best for her. She's still a very prolific singer.
i am glad that suisei is, rightfully, confident in yourself. even though it sells, you dont have to put on a voice to be cute, and using your real one doesnt instantly make you scandalous or a "sexy onee-san" like some people say as a compliment, it can just come across as creepy and discouraging. of course there will always be some level of acting in vtubing, but sometimes it's just nicer to listen to a real voice and probably makes the person behind the avatar feel better mentally and physically from the strain it can put on you from doing it for hours.

I'm glad she accepting her voice right now and able to be more confidence
Always love Suisei
Reading the video title really made me smile. I'm proud of what Suisei has achieved. God, I love her.

It's always the ones who have little confidence in their voice that end up sounding the best, it feels like.
I wholeheartedly agree.
i don't know what she's talking about she have the most beautiful voice in the earth
Whoever said her Lower octave isn’t cute clearly don’t know what cute is.

Sui-chan, that's called imposter syndrome.
