This provided us much needed clarity after not being sure we did everything right after taking the metro and bus after arriving. The validation of the 48h ticket confused us the most. Very informative video
Not every bus had pay & go machines. And often the ticket validators were not working. To be safe, always buy a few single tickets when you’re at a machine or tobacco shop. And to validate manually, just write the date and time in the ticket by hand.
Thank you for your comment! It's good to know, I haven't seen a bus without a pay&go on our trip, but I did see broken validators. If you're going to take several trips by bus, I think it may be best to get a pass with unlimited trips (like the weekly one), as they only have to be validated once, and you get a better price for the entire stay. 😊
If you buy a ticket and use it for the metro first, will you still need to validate it once again later on the first bus ride or is the metro validation enough?
I don’t understand the validation thing . When you scan your card to go through is that when it’s validated ? And if you tap and go what is the proof you show ? Also does the 48 and 72 hour pass work on the trams ?

On buses and trams, these passes only have to be validated once, on your first ride (Nothing bad happens if you validate them every time, though). Is there a high risk of pickpocketing during the tourist season in Rome's public transport? How safe and crowded are the metro lines outside of the tourist season? Are the buses and trams safer than the metro? How reliable are the tram lines?
Hi! As long as you're careful and aware regarding your belongings, you're safe everywhere. 😁 Some tips: keep a hand on your purse, don't leave your backpack unattended, as you would in any other crowded city. Avoid talking to flower/bracelet guys, as they can get annoying, even aggressive. The metro is safe, and so are buses and trams, but a lot more crowded. Buses are the least reliable, but it depends on the area. In the center, buses come every few minutes, so you won't have to wait a lot. However, outside the city center, you can't count on them. The least crowded and most reliable is the metro, because trains come every few minutes. 😊

@@ZalikhaOusou 😊 If you want to visit museums, you will have to buy the tickets in advance, as they sell out weeks in advance. You will find tickets on the official websites (which have the best prices, but also sell out the fastest), but also at resellers like Viator, Getyourguide and others. So, if you have the time and patience, I recommend buying your tickets on the official websites. Here they are: /www.coopculture.it/ for the Colosseum, m.museivaticani.va/ for the Vatican Museums, www.tosc.it/en/artist/galleria-borghese/galleria-borghese-2253937/ and I think this is the one for Galleria Borghese 😊 These are the ones you must buy in advance. Actually, most tourists are not using public transportation, so you are more likely to get your wallet stolen in Piazza Navona, than at the metro. Still, if you watch your belongings, you should be safe everywhere in Rome. Keep your hand on your purse in crowded areas, don't have your phone on the table or in a side pocket, and be aware of your surroundings. Don't carry a lot of cash, and leave your passports in the hotel safe. And if someone randomly initiates a conversation with you, ignore them and walk away. If you are just a little careful, you will be ok. 😊 Enjoy your vacation!
@@goneonvacation Many tourists use public transportation. I did, my friend did. We did pretty much what you are suggesting here - all good advice, and avoided being pickpocketed. So far. In general, one should be careful everywhere - metro, bus, Leonardo Express train, train stations as well as everywhere, especially those most visited by tourists. In terms of not carrying cash or passport - this works most of the time, but you cannot avoid when you travel to/from the airport. It's important to be extra careful then and not have too many suitcases. Not more than you can easily keep track of.
@@jewelmarkess I'm glad to hear that! 😁 What I meant is that the metro isn't as filled with tourists as the area surrounding Fontana di Trevi, for example, where you can barely move. - I was more worried there than on a bus. 😊 I agree, be careful and try to enjoy your trip, too! ❤️

@@_grazygyt_1467 I think here is your answer: www.atac.roma.it/en/frequently-asked-questions/how-is-the-ticket-price-calculated-with-tap-go
If you purchase more than four 100-minute BITs within 24 hours, at the fifth BIT purchase, the "best fare” feature will be activated and you will be charged a 24-hour Roma ticket for € 7, which is cheaper than five or more BIT tickets. The 24 hours of validity of the ticket will be calculated starting from the time of the first tap.
Why should the sound go so high while not talking? I don't see it necessary to be honest, otherwise informative video
Thank you for your feedback 😊
Thank you so much for the video! If we want to visit the museums, how can we buy affordable tickets? We are 4 persons ❤
I hope this helps! Enjoy Rome!
@@goneonvacation OMGGGGGG you dont know how much I appreciate you ❤ Thank you so muchhhhh 😫
@@ZalikhaOusou you're very welcome! 🤗 Enjoy Rome! 🤩
Does the 72h transport pass include rides from/to airport Da-Vinci ?
Hi! No, the rides to and from Da Vinci airport are not included in any of the passes. 🤗 Enjoy your trips!
Hop on hop off is not good?
The hop on hop off is also a good option, but the price is different. 😊 We preferred to walk and take the metro/bus for longer distances.
ticketappy not available in my country because im american
Hi! If you can't use the app, you can just buy tickets at the machines, or use the tap&go machines for single rides. 🤗 Enjoy your trip!
Think gave information too quickly had to keep going back several times to grasp all the info.
Thank you for your feedback! Enjoy your trip to Rome!
I assume "safe" doesn't account for pickpockets.
@@goneonvacation This is true.
