Thanks for your efforts, in transformer the magnetic core is used to just strength the primary magnetic field lines means increase it's density or the core is produce it's magnetic field lines also and so the secondary windings is being linked by the combination of primary windings magnetic lines and core magnetic lines?
You need to clarify more about BS vs BO on the BH curve. You need to show this on an oscilloscope as X vs Y using a sine wave. The BS would represent the FLUX and the BO would represent TIME. Gary Grove 🙂
Thank you Mahesh! I have been curious and perplexed by the concept of hysteresis with regards to the user defined paramters of certain digital functions in a synthesizer module (Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4), and have vague memories of the term coming up in a controls and instrumentation class. I may have missed paying adequate attention that day, as I seem to lack an understanding of the core concept.
Is there computer assistance for drawing those curves so smoothly? Do you use a drawing tablet? It appears the straight lines snap to horizontal and vertical nicely. These are very nice blackboard results, however you make them.
Sir please clear the confusion between *B* and *H* . If H is the external magnetic field then why we use *B* for magnetic field due to current carrying conductor in most of the text book .
●B is a magnetic flux density, and ● H is a magnetic fields strength . ●B= it's a magnetic flux passing through perpendicular a unit surface area. ●H = it's a magnetic intensity at a X (point) is the force acting on the unit N-Pole placed at X (point). 【H= m/4πu d^2】
Amazing video! You explained it really clearly. Thank you! Though, I have one question: When we decrease B_0, won’t there be a back EMF like in the case of a paramagnetic when we put a magnet near it?
Yeah there must be some emf when we deceased the magnetic field.. I think that back emf induced in the specimen probably contribute to the internal magnetic field...
what happens if, after I reach the coercivity point (where B = 0), I increase the external field towards the positive direction instead of going further down to the negative? Will it follow the same path it took from the first quadrant to the second or will it be a new path?
could anyone help me here? why did he say that the iron could never go back to initial state one it becomes magnetized ? it starts around 10:37 till 10:47
@potatochips4mee Primary clue occurs at 5:40 where the word 'retention' is used. At the very beginning - when the solenoid has never been powered - B(sub 0) and B(sub s) are equal at zero. The iron core has some random polarization - numerous norths, souths, easts and wests cancel out any kind of field just by being random. The very moment it is powered - then power is removed - the polarization will be altered, relative to its original state.

B in = mu r×Bo, but it was susceptibility × Bo, and if we remove susceptibility to mu then it'll Bo+BoUr
B is magnetic field inside the ferromagnet
And Bo is outside the ferromagnet
We can change Bo by changing the current flowing through the ferromagnet
