Spearfishing Dog Tooth Tuna - Latham Island (Epic shot on a scooter!)

Spearfishing trips can be such a bonding experience! This was the first time I met this group and we instantly became very good friends. This story is not about shooting massive dog tooth tuna, wahoo or sailfish (even though there's plenty of it) this is a little film about everything else. All the good things that go way beyond shooting fish.

Nope, not the case. And the scooter was used for scouting and exploring mostly. It's actually not a great way to spearfish but in this dive a doggy happened to swim by. But as you can see every other fish were shot while free-diving with no assistance.

I do not, and will not shoot sharks as well as a lot of sedentary reef species. I like to focus on pelagics or very good eating and sustainable species.

What ever if it is the fight you are after take the real fight sharks are a menace locals will eat them if it's for taste not sport coral trout , blue bone not buster ass Wahoo, mackerel and dog tooth they are way down the taste line sounds to me you havnt got the balls to take on a truer monster ??

Thanks buddy! I think you can but can only dive in some specific places I think. We did these trips with Extreme Blue Water Spearfishing. They have a permit for spearfishing charters but I am not sure how it works if you want to go explore by yourself. If you want to know more just shoot me an email and I will try to get some info for you.
