Thank you so much for this. Titane is one of a small number of films that I watched twice in a row in my first encounter. You seem as blown-away and appreciative as I was..
Such a unique movie! Even better after rewatching it. Once you get over the initial surprises and abstract moments, you can really digest the plot and characters and emotion of the movie. Thank you so much for reacting to this one!
Wow! I remember I saw this on the big screen when it came out and liked it, but have since forgotten the whole movie existed. Looking forward to the reaction. Art house movie reactors deserve my respect. It's not an easy thing to do.
Coby, please don’t listen to the negative people in the comments and people who don’t appreciate film as an art form. I love that you reacted to this and what you took away from it. It was one of my favorites of 2021! It made French films playing in my city a priority to see when I can.
I saw this one in the theater when it came out and really liked it. I found it surprisingly touching. This is the kind of movie that really let's you know who likes cinema. You're a real one, Coby. I know these kinds of movies don't get a lot of views for you, but it would be great to see a couple of them a year.
I didn’t watch this reaction as not attracted by this genre and I know it’s very disturbing but I was surprised by this selection for your first French film. A couple other French suggestions you should love and be great reactions: Intouchables, and Amelie Poulain. Really looking forward to it! 😘
Coby, If you’re interested, my favorite foreign film is “Man from Snowy River”, my favorite French film is “The Fifth Element”, and I also love “Crocodile Dundee”!! I hope you are safe and everything is well with you and Cash. Those fires are kinda scary.
Well you jumped into the deep end 😂 Couldn't have started with Amelie or Wages of Fear for your introduction into French cinema??? I love this film! Then again, I giggled during the Shining. The acting is phenomenal. The lighting and blocking claustrophobic. The plot is completely bonkers. You're in a league of your own. I dont think anyone on YT has done a reaction to this movie. It's certainly not going to pop up on Popcorn in Bed's channel. If i could recommend a foreign movie that is perhaps a little more sedate and one of my favorite movies, Cinema Paradiso. Its so good and heart warming. I recommend it to anyone who is passionate about the great artistry of the motion picture. You dont have to be a film lover but if you are, its just makes it that much better. 👍
Hi Coby, I loved you watching a movie that is not the usual Hollywood stuff, so if you are opened to do foreign movies reactions, I am pretty sure that you will love ''The Secret of her eyes'', it's an argentinian movie that won the Oscar in 2010
Hello Coby, I am a big fan of your reaction videos. This was fantastic, I watched Titane once and I am pretty sure my reaction to a lot of it was similar. Anywho, I would like to think I am getting the vibe of this channel you’ve created, and I have some movie recommendations that I think would fit, and above all else if you haven’t seen them, they are great either for youtube content or just because. “Primer” (2004) “Le Violon Rouge” aka “The Red Violin” (1998) “The 51st State” aka “Formula 51” (2001) “The Quiet Earth” (1985) “Colossus: The Forbin Project” (1970) These are off the top of my head that I think you would enjoy whether or not you film yourself for the channel. Thank you again Coby!
This is one of those films that I can't say I necessarily enjoyed or liked, so much as respected. Dismissing it as just puerile shock value for the sake of it (like a lot of modern French horror) is, I think, unfair & wide of thr mark: there's clearly some sort of point to the more horrific elements, & there's a melancholy & sadness to everything which is normally absent. There are those that say proper art should make you uncomfortable: I'm not as absolutist, but I understand where they're coming from. I'm very glad you decided to watch this, & I do hope that you get more opportunities for foreign films. For weird French films I can happily recommend Eyes Without A Face, City of Lost Children, Delicatessen, The Science of Sleep, & The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec.
You should watch films by Nicolas Winding Refn: Pusher series, Bronson, Valhalla Rising, Drive, Only God Forgives, The Neon Demon and a miniseries, Too Old to Die Young.
An excellent foreign thriller (well, more of a murder mystery) is "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (Swedish film with English subtitles). What a wonderful, brilliant film! One of my favorites. (I've some of the American version with Daniel Craig but the Swedish version seems so much better in many ways). The sequels are also pretty good but the first film is, in my opinion, the best of the trilogy.
I hope you can watch more highly acclaimed non-English language films. There are so many great ones, old and new. I'm sure the views will be low compared to typical reaction fodder (which I also enjoy) on RUclips but maybe you'll be able to throw one in every now and then.
I'm so glad you reacted just like me. Fascination, horror, disgust, beauty, love, tradigy, feeling the empathy for both of their broken life's, tears, a choke in the throat, admiration for the settings and the artistry of the movie. Yes, every feeling I felt when I saw it the first time! And you are Soo good at expressing it to us. Thank you Coby for making me feel connected with you (not in a creepy way) and your reactions!! Much love to you ❤❤
Oof. Views on this one tanked for her. That sucks. Probably because its not “popular”. I have no idea what it is either. But.. crazy how views drop big time OR skyrocket.. depending on the content. Either way.. coby is charming and fun and im on board.
Holy s**t, what's next? Martyrs?? Salo???? Shock value is one thing, I'm not Into New French Extremity......etc but I do believe there is a place for these films. They say something more meaningful on occasion.
Spoilers below... . . . . . . . . . The end of this film committed a cardinal sin for me. It broke it's own rules and took me out of the movie. It was cool when I thought the pregnancy was in her head, until Adrien's mother saw her as Alexis saw herself. But that's not what bothered me, what bothered me is why I thought it was all in her head. Because while I know you can tape down a chest, they made it seem like you can do that with a full term pregnant belly on that particular actress's build. Fine if it's all in her head, but now we are led to believe it's not and then they show she has an incompressible metal womb under her skin, you are definitely not hiding that. I was on board for the vehicular impregnation, (I knew early on that's what they were going for. Coby kept saying "black blood", but I knew it was supposed to be motor oil.) I'm cool with stretching reality for the plot, just not with breaking it using "have your cake and eat it too" physics. To go this wild, I have to have something, any one thing anchored in reality, otherwise it turns into a Looney Tunes cartoon. If they had made it all in her head OR made people think Adrien is drinking too much wine and eating too many baguettes, sure. The dance at the end was too much for me, though. It broke something fundamental and took me out of the movie. Much like Signs, this movie set up and performed a great routine, it just didn't stick the landing for me. And for the people who are going to say I just don't understand French cinema, one of my favorite movies is "La Cité des Enfants Perdus." It was a good effort, just not for me. 🤷🏼♂️
Funny, it's a french movie and I'm french, and never heard of it :D but I usually despise french movies (paid with our taxes and usually very bad). Tanks for the discovery. and don"t change, you are perfect! Someday if you want to have some fun with gore, check Barbaque (2021 by Fabrice Eboué) a modern masterpiece of fun and gore :D
SOOO This is France?? I can scratch that one off my list!! I hear Italy is nice. If I had actually watched this I would need a couple Seinfeld reruns to bring me back!! 😮 Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎🎸🤟🏼

@@CobyShow Hi Coby.. if you are interested in good contemporary European cinema maybe take a look at the 2018 remake of Suspiria. A supernatural suspense film from one of the best directors in the world right now. A little bit chilly but not too arty. Like you said Coby, that was a ride. I was thinking about Leon too regarding the relationship. I have to say this a rare, undefinable masterpiece. Beautiful, and horrific at the same time. Great job on this. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
My interpretation of the Movie... It's an exploration of Trans Identity through the lens of what things the main character found to be motivating factors in that. Trying to come to terms with why they were who they were so to speak. The things they loved, things they found sexy or exciting, or hard, difficult, moving... Basically where they derived emotion. And then trying to fit in despite all that and how that went. In a "nothing is perfect, and everything is slightly psychotic" sort of way. So probably a commentary on mental health too... I thought it said Titanic. Then, sadly, stopped watching when the car hopped on its hydraulic suspension at 7:47. Guessing Coby has never seen a lowrider.
This isn't art, this is just trying to be as extreme and shocking as possible. I made it about half way and I'm out, it's just too weird and uninteresting to follow. Foreign film you should watch is, "Legend of Tomiris"! I have to tell you, your hard towatch for me, being younger version of my ex-wife. But thats okay, she has 5 masters degrees, teaches dozen languages, uncle survived 13 bullet holes from Texas rangers, making her a Comanche princess!
French are Materialist in their Philosophy, Atheistic in their religion. This film is an exercise in Atheistic - Materialism's Idea of a Human Being as Essentially..a meat puppet
I really like the fact that Coby is watching "different movies." That is, she's watching films that other reactors have never reacted to. I watch maybe 5 or 6 movie reactors on YT but it's getting really tiresome watching these reactors all reacting to the same films. Really nice to see Coby watching films others haven't reacted to (and even a film or two that I've never even heard of). I like that -- it keeps life (and YT reactions) interesting. Keep 'em coming, Coby!

I was fortunate enough to be at the London premiere for this, absolute insane ride.
If you haven't already, City of God, a Brazilian film based on the birth of the slums of Rio De Janeiro. Blew my mind when it came out.
+1 for City of God. It's terrific
City of God IS very good.

Hey Coby. Great review/reaction as usual! Not blood. Motor oil!!
My favorite song on the soundtrack album for this movie is Wayfaring Stranger by Sixteen Horsepower.
I think the fans of you and your channel would enjoy your reaction to: Inglourious Basterds 2009 Directed: Quentin Tarantino
i love all your videos your so beautiful coby happy new year
Yessssssssss
“Grave” is another film by this French director and it's also a very good movie
