    30 years after winning (and NOT taking) the trip to Hong Kong on Tic Tac Dough, I finally went to Hong Kong! Over the years, my students have enjoyed seeing their teacher win the car on this show. Thanks for the memories.

      +Lena Kane When in 1984 were you on (Tic Tac Dough) and when did your shows air?

      The episode was taped in Feb. 1984 and first aired in the Los Angeles area in June. Friends from college (living in 6 different states) wrote to tell me they saw this episode on their TVs the following 5 months!!

      Thanks Lena, I appreciate it, I thought that Strawberry Hill answer that John said was so funny, did you at that time? so you were on in Feb 1984, I thought the season finale was 5/25/84, I guess I was wrong, I'm usually good at figuring out daytime network shows airdates, but with Syndication, it confuses me, were you on any other game shows besides this one? I used to enjoy GSN when they aired (Tic Tac Dough), not these days I don't, but I've never seen your shows on there, only here on You Tube.

      +Lena Kane Hi Lena! It's amazing to get the chance to talk to you! I've had this edition in my gameshow collection for 25 years! How much further did you get on Tic Tac Dough? And was Wink as nice as he seems on the TV?

    • @lenakane5019

      +gbgameshows Wink Martindale IS as charming and warm as you see him on the TV show. I won a total of 6 games in a row, $11,000 in cash, and the rest in prizes (which the government treats as cash). I chose a red 1984 Chevrolet Camaro as my car, and drove it for 20 years! I loved that car, and the bonus was the story of how I won it on a TV game show. My students saw me win the car on Tic Tac Dough many, many years after 1984 (some were not even been born in 1984). There was a cable show called "Quiz Show" which aired reruns of old game shows, where the students saw me BEFORE the You Tube video was discovered. Thank you for your interest.

      I am humbly touched by you having kept a video of my time on “Tic Tac Dough.” My copy of the 6 game days I was on TV was recorded on Beta (remember that medium?), I never owned a Beta player, so the internet has been the archivist!

      Your editions were some of the first we saw of Tic Tac Dough and that built my love of Tic Tac and other US gameshows! So you were a trailblazer for me! ❤❤❤

      Hello: I just read your comment. When my family and students watched me (during the original broadcast of the TV game show), everyone mentioned how relaxed and calm all of us were in front of the camera. I can only speak for myself, I was TOTALLY nervous. In fact, I mentally placed all of that nervousness and fear into the palm of my right hand. At the break, I looked down at my palm and noticed accumulated sweat! It is the first and only time that has happened.... ~L

    That's the second funniest answer I've heard on (Tic Tac Dough), John thought it was Strawberry Hill instead of Blueberry, first time since The 1979 episode with Judy after she defeated longtime champion Dan and then faced challenger Bob who gave a funny answer in "Nursery Rhymes" when he said Willie when the answer was Little Tommy Tucker.

      @lenakane5019 Год назад +1

      @@Retrotv Hello: The audition was in three parts. First, about 200 of us sat at tables in a large auditorium, were given a 100-item questionnaire on trivia and were to answer as many questions in the given time allotted. There were a couple of people who finished answering before the time was up. When the time was up, all the answers were collected and then we waited. Someone announced names and those people left the room, including the people who finished before time was up!
      My name was not called which meant: I made it to the second level. This time about 50 of us were in a large room with desks. One by one we were interviewed, asked to say something about ourselves. A man was sitting in the corner taking notes. When everyone was interviewed, the two men left the room. When they returned, names were called out, and those people left the room. Again, my name was not called which meant: I made it to the third level. The next time we met, there were about 20 of us in a smaller room that had two podiums in the front of the room. We took turns and played mock Tic Tac Dough games. Later, someone called out names, those people left the room. Again, my name was not called which meant: I became a contestant on Tic Tac Dough! Two weeks later, I was to arrive at the television studio with six changes of clothing. Five games were recorded in one day, so contestants who won and continued to the next game had to change clothes to look as though they were there on a different day. [I recall the audition procedure in detail because for 31 years, I explained it in detail to every class (from 1984 to 2015 when I retired) when the students found out that I had won a car on a television game show.] To "study" for the game show, I purchased the then-new Trivial Pursuit game. I studied EVERY card question and its answer. Thank you for the question. ~L

    Now let me explain to everyone what happened:
    When Lena Kane picked Double or Nothing for the win, she got the question right, but since the box was called Double or Nothing, she had to pick another box to earn not only 2 boxes, but also the win and so, not only did she get a vertical Tic Tac Dough on the left side, she also got a vertical block in the middle
    and that's why she had to earn 2 boxes when she picked Double or Nothing
