How did the bodypaint go? Does it rub off specially on your hands? and like how does it go with sweating? I was thinking of doing this but making up some pax paint so it wont sweat off at all. Anyway great job it looked awesome.
The bodypaint was great! Didn't rub off from most of my body (which meant my car stayed clean) and it rubbed off a bit from my palms and fingers but more or less stayed. The worst thing that happened was probably after being in it for 4hours or so, the paint on my chest started to crack a little, but wasn't noticeable in photos and not too much in person either. This is probably also avoidable if you use thinner layers - I had to go with a thicker coat since my natural yellow skin tone kept showing through. Thanks for the feedback though :) Really appreciate it! x If you have access to pax paint then that'd be aaaaawwesome and would definitely be way better :)
Hello, I am Brazilian and I tried a lot this tutorial !!! and just loved , it's perfect , you are very beautiful and talented . Congratulations on the job! kisses
Haha I'm the same way. I like that you're not a pro, but you are good at it. Makes me feel less like an idiot. Sometimes the pros get a little high and mighty on here... I wish I could afford MAC though... have to find some dupes for Halloween
dw babes, I'm not at all a makeup snob - thus the baby powder! I'll be doing some more videos soon too and most of my makeup is just cheap stuff that I've collected from online sales with dubious brand names, but if they do the job, they do the job!
I got it from the states, but they sell it at makeupdirect in NZ and some other makeup stores. There's one on Queen St near Globe Bar :) I also really like GlamEyes glue, I just get that from Farmers and it's cheaper and really good. It comes wit a little stick tube thing so it's easier to apply as well
It's in the video - Ben Nye creme foundations. They're not really foundations tbh - more like a creme paint but all discussed in video :) good luck! Tag me in your pictures on Instagram if you do it!
What are the oz on the Ben Nye makeup? I see them online but it's a hard to figure out the size. I just don't want to order it, and it's smaller than it thought.I've had this idea for the couple of years, but I didn't know how to do the makeup. When I saw Detox, I thought it was airbrushed. I didn't know I could do this at home! I love Detox.
I have a 1oz white and 0.25oz black - I only used about 1/6th of the white in the last year, and barely touched the black since you don't need much of it at all! I've done the black and white three times too, so you really don't go through much :)
Thanks! I have to do my face and back with the gown that I'm going to be wearing. I'm going to order it, and play around with my face. I'm going as a 1920's silent movie star for Halloween. I hope I can do it like you! You're awesome!
I couldn't agree more. I actually loved this! Because I plan on being Black and White Vivien Leigh this Halloween. So this gave me so many ideas (less expensive ideas). So thank you. :]
Hey chicky - I like the Ben Nye since the black is cooler toned to help cancel out my warm skin underneath. But as long as you go a semi decent black and white paint, only using a tiny amount of black at a time, you'll definitely be able to achieve the right tint! Make sure it's opaque enough, the cheap nasty paints never cover well!
Honestly, I kinda use everything. End of brush to pull all the product out of the trays, sometimes to smooth studd out on my skin, use my fingers, whatever's available y'know to get the texture I need :)
yea New Zealand is a pretty delightful country :) and thanks! I was hoping my kiwi accent wouldn't be too hard to understand. I'm loving that people think I'm funny, I'm honestly just being the usual weirdo that I am :)
love your energy and silliness . keep it up. looks lovely!
Btw especially for Ben Nye makeup you usually powder it afterwards to keep it from being greasy also helps keep it from smudginh and or wiping off
Nvm she did, what I get for replying before o finish watching the video
You're hilarious. This video is exactly what I needed for my Halloween costume!
Thanks Amanda :) hope the costume goes well for you, I wish Halloween was a bigger event of the year in NZ!

Fascinating! Your makeup reminds me of Chiana from the TV show Farscape.
Dunno who that is - I'll have to check her out!
She's a gray skinned alien played by actress Gigi Edgley. She's the sexiest looking alien ever.
Love this look. I thought I recognized you accent :)

Wow. I was thinking of doing this for Halloween and I think I'm sold. It looks easier than I thought. What foundation did you use to get the gray?
It's in the video - Ben Nye creme foundations. They're not really foundations tbh - more like a creme paint but all discussed in video :) good luck! Tag me in your pictures on Instagram if you do it!

rnbwgrl76 For reference, the white cake I have is about.... 2-3 inches in diameter and 3/4" deep, while the black one is 4 times smaller :)
Thanks! I have to do my face and back with the gown that I'm going to be wearing. I'm going to order it, and play around with my face. I'm going as a 1920's silent movie star for Halloween. I hope I can do it like you! You're awesome!
2:34 was horrible creepy!! Haha great helpful vid, thanks!!
haha thanks! yea I scared myself often in the editing of this vid
BTW I did this for Halloween (a fraction as good as yours I might add) and it was a HUGE hit. Thank you thank you thank you :)
wicked!! send me a picture of the look on IG or as a message through RUclips, would love to see it!!
Nice work! :)
Thank you Sophie! x
Last time I checked, Baby Powder is Talcum Powder? It just has Cornstarch mixed in?
You're probably right - either works! They both reflect more white in photography so are good for this look :)
I couldn't agree more. I actually loved this! Because I plan on being Black and White Vivien Leigh this Halloween. So this gave me so many ideas (less expensive ideas). So thank you. :]
Awesome I could help :) would totally appreciate a thumbs up and subscribe xx
Such a amazing video! :) Keep up the good content ;) Hugs xoxox
+CookiechipIry thank you so much X
Every now and then I splurge. I just got the Naked2 pallet from Urban Decay. Do you have a Facebook?
I do - message me on RUclips :)
Hey there, Do you just use any black and white paint? I can't seem to find the right tint of grey. Help!
Hey chicky - I like the Ben Nye since the black is cooler toned to help cancel out my warm skin underneath. But as long as you go a semi decent black and white paint, only using a tiny amount of black at a time, you'll definitely be able to achieve the right tint! +WasianFactor what store could i find this in?
+JHoward in NZ I go to BodyFX - overseas I have no idea sorry!
Did she use the end of her brush to apply the grey makeup?
Honestly, I kinda use everything. End of brush to pull all the product out of the trays, sometimes to smooth studd out on my skin, use my fingers, whatever's available y'know to get the texture I need :)
Haha you are so funny, I like😄👍
Thanks :) xx
Oh Ya that does suck! But you get to live there so... haha and I love the accent!
yea New Zealand is a pretty delightful country :) and thanks! I was hoping my kiwi accent wouldn't be too hard to understand. I'm loving that people think I'm funny, I'm honestly just being the usual weirdo that I am :)
