the problem is that the students in the grades 6th to 8th often are influenced by their parents and tutors to mug up the theories word to word as in textbooks, the thinking skill isn't developed in them until they get a right mentor/teacher who gives them problems that aren't on textbooks so they've got no choice but to think outside of the textbook using the same concepts but correctly and with consciousness. so unless a thinking habit and curiosity in students is created, there's so much lower chances that a 6th std student might be watching these kind of educational videos and genuinely try to improve

I am so glad that your last two videos have been for school children. It is so important to inculcate the scientific thinking early in school. Your point about exploring both the reason for success and failure is on the spot. This is a habit which will be needed not just when one goes to college or research but also in your work place. As a coach, two key questions we ask is what worked for you and what did not work for you. You also very nicely pointed out about not giving up when things do not go your way. About making questions, you gave an example which I could resonate to. I used to teach my younger sister and especially in maths, I used to make up questions for her to practice. I used to do that for myself too since the number of sample questions in a book were limited. And finally you were right on the fact that in doing what you have told you learn about yourself which is critical. Nobody knows you better than your own self. I would like to end by giving my example. I was and still am very bad at mugging up and there were times I would forget formulae. My father used to always tell me to focus on fundamentals. That made me learn the derivations of the formula. This helped me especially in exams when I forgot a formula. There were times when I derived the formula in the exam and then went on to solve the problem. I understand it could be time consuming but I practiced so much that I had enough time to derive the formula and solve it. P.S. - Even I was told about the story of Gauss when we were being taught the formula = n(n+1)/2
There is a limit to how much you can memorise. So deriving things when needed is an absolutely essential skill to develop. And this is not going to happen without a robust understanding.

See "How to Solve it" by George Polya. 1) Introspection (post mortem analysis) helps one to identify what works and what doesn't and most importantly WHY. Over time this builds up a library of common pitfalls or cognitive biases to avoid in future. 2) Brainstorming helps one to generate different options or approaches to a problem. Also creating hybrid combinations when straightforward methods don't work. 2) Evaluating each option/branch : Trial and error helps one to unearth and learn more about your opponent ie the problem. 3) Backtracking to other options/branches. 4) Comparing branches tried out and organising the feedback gained by grappling with the problem. Using this gained knowledge to prune/eliminate dead end or irrelevant branches drastically filters and reduces wasted effort. 5) Look deeper into mundane things. Why do they work? Is there a better way to do things ie improve your technique? 6) Turn it into a game or puzzle that you're trying to work out. Make up your own questions or modify the question to make it different or harder or easier. Many of the above methods are used in the field of AI heuristics.

Hundreds of Indian CBSE and regional board cannot read and write even after reaching 10th level. Sir if i start trying resolving jee adv question just by analyzing at the solutions of pyq of jee adv...will it be worth it instead of grasping all the theories of class 11th bcz sir it becomes very complex to understand multiple topics at a same time. Please kindly guide me.
I learned you mentioned hc verma is the best book to understand physics … I can declare with confidence that it is no where near the best book to build initial grasp or understanding in physics coming form 10th … it’s a good book for problem solving only .. for starters students first should completely understand their board level NCERT book … then try their hands on he Verma .. but I would recommend Dinesh series books as all the problems have very good explanation and solutions… please guide students in the right path.. starting with hc Verma can cause adverse effect and losing interest in the subject …
This is excellent advice on learning problem solving skills , but I think students still need coaching . Some might be able to coach themselevs, some need a coach but everybody needs to workout for speed and accuracy and to avoid missteps while solving a problem in the test. The only way one can do that is by repetition of the exercises just like in physical exercises.
Professor You are doing great thing. Great respect for you🙏🙏 Everyone tells that for problem solving just solve problem but that's not at all. But also what should be correct minset of problem solving and how to improve with efficiently You explained it very well....

I completely get what you were trying to say regarding the changing of symmetry which is usually done at the higher level of PhD or above research works. Recently I published a research paper in a reputed international journal for my PhD study in which I did this and I found an interesting perspective which previous studies missed. The editors and reviewers were quite impressed by it and said that my paper brings some fresh perspective to the table in that field. I completely agree with your points in this video and a great effort initiated by you to inspire our indian youth to be much better.
I think the fundamental takeaway from this video would be to observe and analyse. Analyse the pitfalls, wrongs and mistakes to avoid them. And Analyse the successes to repeat them. Thank you prof. I'm looking for your more videoes on genuine advices for students. Even for students who are not in the engineer sector.
Hey sir , I hope this message finds you well. I'm currently navigating a challenging situation regarding my education. I've been attending a Physics Wallah offline coaching center in Kota for class 11, but due to difficulties in understanding the teaching methods, I recently spoke to my father about switching to Physics Wallah online classes for class 12. I've already committed to the coaching fees (1 lakh for both class 11 and 12) and hostel fees (1.2 lakhs for a year). I live in a hostel in Kota, far from my home in Maharashtra. I just had a conversation with my father, and he's disappointed with my decision. He mentioned that he plans to consult a family astrologer for guidance. This has added an extra layer of complexity, and I'm not sure how to navigate the situation. Have you or anyone you know ever faced challenges where family decisions intersect with education? Additionally, how would you suggest I approach the astrologer's advice and communicate my decision effectively to my family? Your insights would be immensely helpful. Thank you!"
I am actually in a similar situation. I was in unacademy kota last year but i plan to switch to online medium this year. my father thankfully is quite supportive in this case. hope it works out for you man

Hello sir nomoskar , I did DIPLOMA after 10th and want to fill JEE 2024 application form . Am I eligible ? Because Diploma (3 YEARS) is equivalent to 12th . So please reply me if you see this.
If you want my advice on this. Then I'll give my few cents, say if you want to learn something or solve a problem, first learn how it became a problem in the first place or in learning something first find out what was the need of that something that you're learning, how it came to be, who derived it , discovered it and why. Go into that rabbit hole and nothing, like literally nothing in this world will be impossible for you to learn.
This is something really important to be known by a good student. Many students join tutions when school teaching isn't enough for them. That may help achieve good marks but their is no development in their skills. Same happened to me also. I wish I had got this type of guidance atleast in my JEE prearation stage. This video needs to be seen by all the students who are really seeing forward to study at higher levels.

So in very short try to understand everything from the problem, it's solution, it's fails, yourself thinking about it, and the patience to be there. Appreciate knowledge as anything can help you solve a problem, solve both lower adn higher level of problems. Take up a mindset where everything you solve or learn is interconnect to an existing possibilty or something that existed, so you know, just like working out is something like doing construction work, remeber when you were a child and you imagined a "life"? Cool vid thanks for the PoV, it is indeed helpful.
Woah, this is one of the life changing video for me. Thanks for the beautiful knowledge. Even though I've graduated from my engg. I will try to develop my problem solving skills even more by these methods in my coding journey.

Things that I learnt from this video :- 1. Read by yourself to understand more deeply.
2. Do postmortem analysis - From Failures :- Try to find the mistakes and Flaws, From Success :- Analyse by what we got the answer.
3. Take questions as fun ( Higher authorities makes questions as fun for us in exams ).

6. Also don't always find symmetry in questions there can be non symmetry and irregularities in questions.
7. See the beauty of Science

Thank you so much sir only by your suggestion I am able to solve my mathematics problem you are God 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hello sir, Good Evening .
Im a class 11 student. Every single week I have 2 class tests. I can at max self study only 5 hours a day.
How can I prepare for jee. By what time should my portion be finished.
Thank you 🙏
Sadly i am watching this video after jee advanced
So what, I am watching this after my graduation 😅
Me who watching as a neet dropper, still find this video very helpful 😇
Sir, I feel very sad upon the fact that I was unable to have someone great as you in my class 8-9, Now I am in 10th, and I think its too late now, But sir I will start to develop my problem solving skills from now on, Will I be able to be very good at it?
It's not too late. Start earnestly and be tenacious about it. It is still possible to become good at it. All the best!
@@Prof_JCrespected sir I'm also in the same situation
Going again and again through easy problems of class 10 have Made my mind saturated.
I also thought of problem solving improvement but...time passed
My question is that can I improve my problem solving skills in a matter of 2-3 months.
Please respond sir
Hundreds of Indian CBSE and regional board cannot read and write even after reaching 10th level. School teachers at 9th and 10th level of Maths and Science teachers teach students in such manner that students are not able to clear their basics .Later students take arts and commerce where they feel comfortable.
Sir why don't u people start doing this with nptel.
Honestly nptel courses r nothing better than sleeping pills.
If nptel helps with problem solving skills we wouldn't buy expensive courses outside.
I'm grateful that there is some PPL to talk about issues like this. But it's a shame it has not reached to those who need still or maybe not in right time we should help to share this msg to All students around india❤❤
Thank you.
This stuff is gold. Thank you very much sir, this will boost my prep by a huge magnitude(and also correct the direction)
Sir if u can then speak in hindi as that will give us clear understanding 😊 English i understand and speak but continuous it just mess in Brain
First of all , thank you for the special gift for our Diwali that you provided us this video. I'll definitely try to implement all the facts that you've talked in this video and I don't know I'll be successful or not but I'll try to give my best. Happy Diwali Sir ❤
I dreamed at 18 to have my house at least by 28 to 30. I m almost 50 and no house
And what's the reason you have no house at 50?
❤I am so happy after finding you and h c verma sir on youtube. Thank you so much sir 🙏
Thank you. I am honoured beyond words that at least in some context I am being mentioned in the same sentence as Prof. H. C. Verma. A lot of my basic understanding in Physics is due to his Concepts of Physics books. I still keep them in my office!
@@Prof_JC Teachers like you, are blessing for us sir again thank you so much sir for such videos and suggestions.
@@Prof_JC wow the book has came a long way
sir im in class 11 so its just the end of this class coming soon but my problem solving skill are varying alot in different subject... can u please provide me a tip so that i can crack jee adv with my 12th class ..please... it will be really great appreciations for you from myself for being helping me
I would recommend starting Competitive Programming
Sir cheenta courses are very good for learning problem solving.
Sir kindly guide me on this particular problem as im a 11th grade student moving to 12th this year and aiming for jee adv to qualify but sir im not able to get the concepts problems bcz of lack of concentration that's why i couldn't solve jee adv questions. Sir if i start trying resolving jee adv question just by analyzing at the solutions of pyq of jee adv...will it be worth it instead of grasping all the theories of class 11th bcz sir it becomes very complex to understand multiple topics at a same time. Please kindly guide me.
How to flip questions , can u give me examples¿
And what's symmetry and beauty in questions

0:12 . Sir I'm in cl 11th can this video is also relevant for us or is it too late for those who passed cl 10th ??
Even more relevant
It is certainly relevant.
What about those who are preparing for college🥲
Sir am really bad in problem solving am in my dropp year...
Would ill be able to improve my problem solving skills...
Yes you can just work very very very hard
But for now mostly focus on jee and in college focus on problem solving

Love you sir from bangladesh . Currently preparing for Dhaka university IBA.
All the best.
sir, how did you overcome poor physics concept teaching in school especially in challenging topics like rotational dynamics?
Thank you so much Guidance 🌸

How to make maths strong please sir guide 🙏🙏🙏
I was first thinking like: this is for DSA problem solving, and seen almost 75% video, and it helped a lot!
I don't understand why did u say that, that's absolutely a good book with a good theory..!
Happy Diwali Sir . Meet you soon
Professor You are doing great thing. Great respect for you🙏🙏
Everyone tells that for problem solving just solve problem but that's not at all.
But also what should be correct minset of problem solving and how to improve with efficiently You explained it very well....
Happy diwali sir g
U could have explain this in hindi
Thank u so much sir for the tips .Hope i would be able to improvise my problem solving skill for physics. The postmortem tip is the thing which i think will help me in physics .Thank u once more sir
Congratulations on the paper!
@@Prof_JC thanks Professor for your well wishes 🙏 happy Diwali to you and your family.
I think the fundamental takeaway from this video would be to observe and analyse.
Analyse the pitfalls, wrongs and mistakes to avoid them.
And
Analyse the successes to repeat them.
Thank you prof.
I'm looking for your more videoes on genuine advices for students. Even for students who are not in the engineer sector.
Happy Diwali sir thank to give knowledge of problems solving skills.

Sir your videos are good...idealistic talks which studious students may follow only. Kindly give suggestions on how to study for a school student of 2024...
23:34 Me, who is in engineering.
I don't know why... But I feel you are explaining my point of view of dealing with different things.... My main problem is i always try to do things actively(using my brain heavily) due to which I donot last long.... Which makes me inconsistent... And before a few days I felt that I am good at those things which had enjoyed while doing them... So I feel I should enjoy doing things in my life which will make me good at everything ❤️
Thanks sir for your realistic insights on how to approach problems. ❤
Happy Diwali Sir 🌸✨✨
Sir honestly whether it is school / college /coaching/tution /home /society /teacher /elder /younger koi bhi nenhi batate 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You speak like God... Like a saint.... If I had a teacher like you, I would have studied science amd maths and became a scientist. Love and respect to u sir

Hello sir nomoskar , I did DIPLOMA after 10th and want to fill JEE 2024 application form . Am I eligible ? Because Diploma (3 YEARS) is equivalent to 12th . So please reply me if you see this.
If u give with examples than it will be very worthy....other wise its comes under waste of timè
If you want my advice on this.
Then I'll give my few cents,
say if you want to learn something or solve a problem, first learn how it became a problem in the first place or in learning something first find out what was the need of that something that you're learning, how it came to be, who derived it , discovered it and why. Go into that rabbit hole and nothing, like literally nothing in this world will be impossible for you to learn.
This is something really important to be known by a good student.
Many students join tutions when school teaching isn't enough for them. That may help achieve good marks but their is no development in their skills.
Same happened to me also. I wish
I had got this type of guidance atleast in my JEE prearation stage.
This video needs to be seen by all the students who are really seeing forward to study at higher levels.
Sir agar 11th repeat kiya toh JEE mei 2 attempt milenge ya fir 1. Because I am a state board student and . I want to change my medium to English. Sir please tel??
Persue challenges in active way i.e seek out challenge which isn't at your current level.
Doing routine work in challenging way.
Post mortem of problem even if it's solved and if not solved.
Problem posing - asking questions to yourself while solving problems
Sir I have done btech in electrical, but now I want to pursue my further career in physics (MSc or PhD).what is the path, kindly guide me 🙏

Sir, is there any suggestion for the students from upper grades?
Is it a irreversible process now?
Thank you so much sir for giving such a marvelous advice 😊.I will try my level best and not disappoint you. Hope everyone pass will flying colours 🪔
Sir should students who breeze through Board /school Maths books dream of Olympiad? How to approach learning for Olympiad and who are the people in India who teach them?
