    Great tips! 👍 two questions:
    1. Tell us about your certification in the background. It can be inspiring to learn more about perfumery and also get a certificate along with it.
    2. Any thoughts on Parfums de Marly Haltane fragrance? It is on my list to purchase next!

Good eye :) So about that, yes, it's interesting as there's quite a lot to be said about that but the short version is that I followed a workshop in Grasse (France) in 2015 where we learned a few basics on how to build fragrances and create accords. Mind you, this was very novice stuff but it was SO MUCH FUN. Afterwards I got a "diploma d'élève Parfumeur" (= Apprentice Perfumer degree). And of course, I had my own fragrance that I created myself.
Haltane is one that I have not tried yet. I've heard it's comparable to Initio OfG but with a slight gourmand touch (praline). To me, that sounds like a great idea but I don't know how it comes off in real life. If you get to try it, feel free to leave me a comment or email.
      Cheers !!

Sampling definitely key if they're available. Also agree with expanding your palette by diversifying, sniffing outside of the comfort zone and taking your time with fragrances. So many scents that I used to hate that I now love. By keeping those strong initial emotions in check and giving each fragrance a chance, things tend to normalize over time. As a result, the urge for novelty is unavoidable. But apart from capitalizing on rare opportunities, long-term investments are always the best option imo. 👍

Great insight. Which one did you hate at first and now grew to love over time?

@@FragrancewithSteve Interlude for starters. Fahrenheit, Kiehl's Original Musk, Bvlgari Black just to name a few.
