Your reviews are like a wonderful old style production. They have the magic effect of taking me to another time and place.
My first encounter with a British perfume was my grannys Yardley Bond Street. How gorgeous!
Nowadays I have Burberry London but my favorite is Floris Special 127. Eternal class and timeless elegance!
Beautiful video Lanier!
Thank you! It was great to hear you talk about some of the British fragrance houses, especially Penhaligon’s & Floris ! Looking forward to your thoughts on the Americans 🍸🐝
Another very creative opening, Lanier. And John Barry is one of all time favorite composers. You continue to delight with your outstanding reviews. Thank you!
Stephen
Thank you Stephen, I love John Barry's scores...he is one of my favorite film composers. Cheers!
Being British, specifically English, I can’t help feeling your choices are exquisite as usual Lanier. In fact it has made me revisit my bottles of 1962 and No.89 (which I’m wearing today). I like the sound (and hopefully smell) of Victorious and Eucris too, so I will surely add those to my collection. Thank you Lanier 😊
Iconic Lanier thank you for guiding the new generations. 🙏🏼💯
Glad to see this fun series continued!!
Some of the most classy reviews out there thank you for sharing love ❤️ your style
Lanier, as always a kind soul and a super nice aproach of review!!
I am so honored and flattered by your kind comment. Thank you Timofti. Cheers.
I’ve been enjoying two from Geo F Trumper; Sandalwood and Spanish Leather.
Hi Lanier, love the succinctly poetic way you describe these fragrances. No other reviewer so perfectly evokes place, period and mood to conjure up perfume. You're the Basho of the fragrance community!
As a Brit I feel slightly honoured! There are some beautiful fragrances there. I would perhaps add a Dunhill amongst them. Looking forward to the Americans! 🇬🇧👍🏼😀
Yes I would have added the classic Dunhill from the 30's but alas I gave it away to someone who loved it even more than I. Cheers.
Dunhill is now American owned from what I remember 😀🇬🇧🏴
Love your videos Lanier. You are a fragrance Legend! Agree with you about Floris 89. That's one of my favourite fragrances too (I don't know why, but I get a hint of Chanel No5 from it, which I absolutely love). Thanks for your wonderful reviews.
Love the intro, we British were so classy and sophisticated then. Some great scents you reviewed enjoyed it very much.
You always come across as such a genuinely nice person. Keep doing what you do.
Oh thank you Mr. B ! Cheers
Fabulous. I am glad you gave Floris due credit x
Thank you Liz
Your so classy sir, loved the intro, with all the cinematic greats, reminded me off all the great things you could watch on television growing up, got fed up of paying BBC liscence, for rubbish TV, so haven’t watched tv in over 3years, don’t miss it. Smell is so evocative of memories, believe me, as a sufferer of Dementia, perfume transports me to places, people and times past, happy and sad. Thank you Lanier , sue from wales uk
Oh Sue, Big BIG hug my dear. Cheers.
I've visited a number of fragrance review channels and I've got to say the classiest fragrances are available for review by this classy reviewer Lanier Smith
Anand thank you for the lovely complement. Cheers.
I recently switched up to Floris # 89 and love the fragrance. I had been using Black Code from Armani prior. Thank you for the review.
You are very welcome and thank you for watching. Cheers!
Great Video and nice Tom Ford Glasses ! Cheers !
89 by Floris is awesome.
Brilliant .
Thank you lad.
You are welcome Johmathan. Cheers
As always Lanier, your impressions are captivating, intellectual, educational, and genuine! I now have some beautiful fragrances to aquire! In the words of that most British character Mary Poppins, "If we must, we must!" .......CHEERS Mate!!
Ooooh. Dan Naughton will be happy. ...You have always been one of the top handful of genuine reviews, Lanier Smith! Just sayin'... Don't go anywhere.
I really enjoy your presentation style. Thank you!
Oh Mel thank you so much. Cheers
I blind bought Eucris and Floris 89 They are fantastic! Our noses must have been separated at birth ! Thanks for another wonderful review !
Larnier hi, your videos are fantastic, I loved the Catherine Deneuve one and the Coty L’amant as well. I was wondering could you review Coty Imprevu please, I have seen it on eBay, I have ordered the talc and soap.
I love Atkinsons 24 OBS but particularly the Triple Extract. Your videos always so peaceful and classy. Thank you.
What a wonderful video! I can't even tell how many times I've watched The Living Daylights movie and the soundtrack of that is my favorite from all of the 007 movies.
Wonderful video mr. Smith. I have been tempted for a long time to blindbuy Floris No.89.
Astor, Elite, Hammam Bouquet, Sartorial, Wellington
I love 89, I think you would like the shop on jermyn street Lanier. There are also other niche British houses like Beaufort, who produce more adventurous and daring fragrances.
Always great to hear from you, Lanier! Love English cologne. My favorite is Dunhill for men. A classic. Thanks for sharing.
It would have been in the video but I don't have it anymore...and you are so right. It is a classic. Cheers Mike.
Suave, elegant, sublime = you. I love santal and aventus on Jay. Royal oud is beautiful on him too.
Fabulous video Lanier 👍🥰🇬🇧
Mona thank you! Cheers.
If I could possibly recommend anything to you, it would be to add the 89 balm to the edt. It turns the longevity into an edp. Class presentation Lanier, and once again, thank-you Sir👌🏻
Floris no89 is a real refined gentleman like say pierce brosnan , buy trumpers eucris is definitely the scent of a Bond villain
Fantastic review! The Brits have so many underrated fragrances. Have you tried Eucris Edp? Fantastic longevity and a lot more balanced than the Edt in my humble opinion. My absolute favorite for cold and rainy autumn days. Sandalwood by the same house is also worth checking out.
Very nice...and glad to see a couple of Penhaligon's on the list. My favorites from this house are Endymion and Douro (okay, maybe even Sartorial), but plenty of other great ones too - just wish they performed a bit better. Another one I would include (a personal favorite) is Patrick from Fragrances of Ireland. Okay, it's Ireland...but technically part of the British Isles, so I'll take this liberty. LOL! Cheers!
I'm also a huge fan of Geo F. Trumper Sandalwood Cologne least I forget. Cheers, Lanier!
Being that I am 26% Irish and 50% English I will say yes to your inclusion of Patrick from Fragrances of Ireland. Bravo. Cheers my good man. Always a pleasure when you show up.
As you can see...The British do pure class and elegance mixed with rich history..
Stunning selection. I have the Atkinson, bought on your recommendation!
Thank you for the video!
Which Atkinson do you have of the two? Thanks for commenting Daniel, always appreciated. Cheers.
Wonderful video! What a beginning, I have to rewatch this. Thanks and cheers from Germany. (I guees, Germany as a fragrance country is useless, despite 4711 cologne...:))).
Thank you for the nice opening. Your reviews are superb as usual Lanier
Thank you Barbara for taking the time to say so. Much appreciated. Cheers.
@@laniersmith1798 you are welcome. I love your Shalimar review also And the cocktails at the start of your videos 😊
My new adventure now is sample all of these British Fragrances!🤔🤗🤗😁
Great intro! I was hoping to see Patrick McGoohan but maybe next time... 🙂
Just heard of a new book, "Elizabeth and Monty" by Charles Casillo and thought of you 😊 People magazine showcased some excerpts this week and it's quite good!
It sounds wonderful!
Love your channel
Great picks👌but there's no Dunhill? After all is your choice! God save the Queen🇬🇧
I’ve been after eucris for ages
It is a beauty. Cheers
What is the specific intro song from james bond? Thank you :)
I enjoyed that😊
My favorite Floris is Elite. Essentially a hybrid of Ralph Lauren Polo Green and Creed Bois du Portugal.
And unfortunately Royal Mayfair is my least favorite Creed. Very camphorous eucalyptus smells like unrelenting mothballs.
Currently have Penhaligon's Sartorial, my second favorite barbershop Fougere. On my to-buy list is Penhaligon Portrait Series The Tragedy of Lord George. A barbershop Fougere with a boozy twist.
You’ve captured my interest in Elite. I’m putting it on my list. Cheers James!
@@laniersmith1798 Bravo! Elite is a beautiful, smooth, green 1981 release with that classic vibe.
A+!
How marvelous thank you! Cheers.
I have Floris 127 @ Lanier Smith
I really need to sample that one. So many have commented to me about how wonderful it is. Cheers Primo Songco.
@@laniersmith1798 I've been following your reviews since you were here in San Francisco California. Then you moved to Washington State right?
@@primosongco6811 yes! To Olympia in fact
@@laniersmith1798 For me Seattle Washington reminds me of the Bay area in a way.
Now I just put more fragrances on wish list. Lol 🤣
It is never ending, my wish list that is to say. Cheers
Who is the actor at 1:04 please
That is Alan Bates, known for Zorba The Greek, Women In Love, Gosford Park. He was a wonderful actor.
Thanks for the reply nice review !
@@anthonylyons4617 thank you!
