This was the best FD round ever. Driving was just amazing, judges ware great... After Atlanta I was little disappointed but this redeemed everything and reminded me why I love FD. Cheers to Shanahan and Dean, great driving and great energy

I would say that Connor had that first battle against Sorensen, no need for a OMT.
The use of OMT was so smart from them and I would rather watch them go again then judges splitting hairs over tiny mistakes which could lead to bad calls

I thought Hull had it vs. Shanahan but after hearing the judge and watching it again I understood.

His explanation made no sense. If he had a better lead he would have advanced no question. Could you see even a OMT if Hull had less mistakes on his lead? Shanahan lost the chase so all the counted to arrive at that was Shanahan lead
@@zigzagrambo I was thinking the same watching it live, but if you watch it at 0.5 speed few times you will see (or not if you’re too biased) why Conor got the win, having to back off on bank, then unable to keep up afer the transition, expecting Hull to be on a good lead line.

Hi! Just pointing put, that in the graphic bracket there is an error of the lines from the smefinals into finals, example in this event the brackets are going from conor shanahan battling hiroua minowa, instead of going connor shanahan battling branden sorensen.
Cause its missleading to see a bracket like that, even more to people that are joining for the first time, just pointing it out! And if u can adjust it would be so much appreciated, cause it gets more clarity who si battling who, especially cause u are going from the semi to the the finals!

Conor Shanahan is bringing a "European" approach to measuring proximity in drift battles - measuring the level to which the tread of the front tire has been rubbed off on the door of an opponent's car.

Some amazing battles! Really enjoyed this event, the track is so good for the drivers to get close. Minowa is so impressive, especially for a 14 year old. And Adam was looking cosy at his home track. He's driving the socks off that E36🤌

this was actually well judged. i went through each run, this is one of the first competitions where the judging was done very well. lead was actually more important than chase. the pressure for the drivers is higher. this really shows the drivers true colors. applause to the judges on this one.
The lead should never be more important than a chase.. if that was true, why have tsuiso at all? If you are leading you are just driving the track. If you are following you literally have to figure out all the angles and timings live

Hull was all over the place made it really difficult for Connor to chase, Connor lead was much better gave hull all the opportunity to jump into the pocket you can’t have a good chase without a good lead

I’m pretty critical on the judging but this is one of the first time I’ve watched FD and agreed with most of the judging… too 4 was slipping hairs. I honestly couldn’t make calls on them was a hard call.
Serious driving from the two irish,Could of went either way tho with that decel on the bank,Deane def wasnt expecting that from shanahan there usualy pedal to the metal from the line

Wasn't his mistake that connor slowed down in the area where he is not allowed to. Shouldn't even have been a OMT from the beginning cuz James clearly won that first battle.

as soon as I heard Connor won against Hull, I was pissed and I'm a fan of Connor, not Hull. Then, I heard the explanation and played the replay, by then I understood better but I still wouldn't say Connor got it, more of a omt for me
That lead from hull was all over the place it makes it difficult to chase, Connor was smooth and gave hull the opportunity to get on the door
@@Jack_cliffe_drift imo Hull's line was clean and there was no major slow-downs, but he wasn't as high on the bank, went wide and missed inner clip 2 (which would technically help Connor to close in) and slightly shallow in OZ 2 but still within the zone (dropped one wheel). Connor's car is just not as fast as Hull's or just too much left foot brakes, so he had really bad proxy, too far back in the chase and with really low angle throughout the whole run. Hull on the other hand did everything right in the chase, heck he mimicked the angle and even rubbed Connor all the way to the finish. Connor's lead was clean. I believe both driver's mistakes outweigh each other, clean chase/bad lead vs bad chase/clean lead which is why OMT would be appropriate for me. Just my opinion.

@@Adatico1 usually they penalize more on lead mistakes, it's difficult to chase a bad lead.
@@HJK242 but to be fair, Hull's lead wasn't even bad at all, you have to nit pick to find the mistakes, nothing bad enough to disrupt the chase

OMT for Deane vs Minowa is crazy. Deane had near perfect lead while Minowa's lead is slow and he brakes in a non decel zone which makes it hard to chase.
You can see in the side by side Minowa's lead is a way slower 2:29:34
same with shanahan he had that first one by a mile
@@Ayden.Cophamagainst james? Are u high? James had more angle in both his chase and lead run. He had morr proximity in his chase than connor and he didn't straighten in his chase like connor did.
The battle with Shanahan and Hull is the main reason judging in FD is so awful. At this point, they micro judge each lead run and completely ignore what the other driver is doing, unless they have some sort of fault like off the track. Tandem is only in consideration if the both leads are exactly the same "points".

StreetTuber watch it again and you will see hull did not give shanahan a clean lead run which makes shanahan not able to do a baller chase, if hull would have given a primo lead shanahan would have been on hulls door from the driving I seen. Ask anyone else who knows anything about high level competitive drifting. Your entitled to your opinion, I respectfully disagree. And I'm not trying to call you out either just urge you to watch the battle again

I think it's funny... A few people actually wanna join the US Military... Way less than when I joined. Just shows how sad the US Military is as an actual force... Yeah we got weapons, but what good are weapons without the appropriate manpower levels to operate the way we should be... They're so desperate they're bribing Retiree's to come back in... Lol. And to be honest, I wouldn't join today, the Government is not for the people and we need the US to be reconstructed from the ground up.

I agree they should limit the hp putting dveryone on the same playing field but it should be around 800hp
It would really test the drivers skill and abilities setting up the chassis and suspension

@@hugo-pg5tvbig bank tracks would be harder but not impossible. There is alot of cars with 900hp competing, they just run them looser then the top dogs competing with 1100hp

A horsepower limit wouldn't make sense in drifting cuz everyone has different cars, different tires, different tire size and the cars weigh different weights. Drifting ain't like F1 where the cars are very identical when it comes to tire size, weight and power.
