same. In may I went to Razia's Shadow Live. No Barricade. I touched Thomas and I loved it. It wasn't the same without Max, Chris, Shawn, Brendan, Greta and others though.
That's fawesome. I wish Brendon, Max and Shawn would tour with the rest of Forgive Durden- They're just such great characters! The keyboardist that they have singing for Dr. Dumaya is QUITE good though. he looks all tiny and awkward when he's sitting back and playing the rest of the show-and then he gets up and starts cackling-I was blown away. I got pictures with Paul, Thomas, and him when they came to town a few weeks ago.
People seem to forget that SA write music based on experiences. Max back when he wrote this is not the same as Max now. He's gone through drug use (I think), relationships and more. The music can change as a result.
personally, this is a song about how shit he is in a relationship. when the girl wants him to actually bring her out and do couple-y things "promises, i have med them before and broken them" he "stay(s) asleep instead". she begins to become infatuated with him "im creeping up your veins" but he puts on a hard-to-get charade. when he is with her he begins to fall for her "i better watch my back around you" but inevitably it will end in sex and not an actual relationship
Yeah totally. I actually think that their best album is a demo they made back in 2002 i think. And my favorite song with them is "But a fleeting illness".
@JennaTheAngel it's because a lot of the times, the band can't help but change. Hollywood has an effect on them that changes who they are. Examplee: nevershoutnever was my favorite band a year ago & when he became known he totally changed.It's happened to a lot of great bands, I don't want that to happen to SA.
Found this by accident!can anyone tell me about this band, what's their nationality? Interesting lyrics too - reminds me of the BLINK182 song "miss you". Thanks for posting.
@kashr118 Why wouldn't you want the band you love to become popular and they can get the critical acclaim they deserve? It sounds like you want to keep your underground superiority complex intact at the expense of the popularity Say Anything deserve.
@vivalandan009 I guess just because I love having my own little band that only a few people know, when they have true meaning to their songs... I guess I'm worried they'd become sellouts if they got big? And, well said @sunstripe31 .
I must respectfully disagree, though your assessment is not entirely inaccurate. The music is neurotic to the extreme, but not emo. Emo is mopey and gushy. Say Anything is misanthropic and borderline nihilistic.
Actually Say anything is entitled to being a genre of emo. And Max also says so himself in an interview he made for some punk/rock magazine. But who the fuck cares? It's still the best band on earth. I think the poetry/lyrics gets alot deeper with emotional and alot more interesting. So fuck the other bands who doesn't give a shit about emotional lyrics. They're just bunch another fucked up douches.
dude actually this song is really good, i love this band so much but like no one knows about them! they are amazing!!
I love say anything, and the day they get really popular and everyone knows who they are i will cry! They are my favorite!
I love the reference to this song when he actually is a spider in Razia's Shadow. :D
Does anyone even go back to listen to gems like this anymore?
Yes! Currently enjoying this album for the first time :)
Oh my god that's crazy! Lol I love Razia's Shadow. Silly Say Anything singer, leading cherubs to ruin...

Awesome put up some of their other ones.
There's no decent vids of the writhing south or I want to know your plans

I really wish Ludo and Say Anything would release a new album, Trophy Scars too.
Imagine listening to this in 2021, Ik. I am alone lol. But he’s kicking mannn he’s got a big family we love him.
You aren't alone
greetings from 2023, well met

fuck ya...smokin blunts, drinking cheap 40s...and listening to this shit...amazing night, considering the obvious.
They're American..
This is off of their second-last album, "...Is a Real Boy"
and they have a new one called "In Defense of the Genre" I believe.
true, the radio does over play songs wayyy too much, but i would like to hear them more often

I love this song! :D After seeing them play this one live it's definitely one of my favorites now.
their best song
who cares if they get popular, everyone is aloud to like something, not just some people.
personally, this is a song about how shit he is in a relationship. when the girl wants him to actually bring her out and do couple-y things "promises, i have med them before and broken them" he "stay(s) asleep instead". she begins to become infatuated with him "im creeping up your veins" but he puts on a hard-to-get charade. when he is with her he begins to fall for her "i better watch my back around you" but inevitably it will end in sex and not an actual relationship

Yeah totally. I actually think that their best album is a demo they made back in 2002 i think. And my favorite song with them is "But a fleeting illness".
I must say i was expecting another "IM GROOWWWINNG LEGGSSS" at the end after that sigh, would of been just pastry
is a real boy is probably my favorite, but you're right, they have other good music too.

Most bands don't care if you buy the album or not. If you're going to shows they play its a lot more appreciated.
here in 2022
Found this by accident!can anyone tell me about this band, what's their nationality?
Interesting lyrics too - reminds me of the BLINK182 song "miss you". Thanks for posting.

Woah woah woah.... What the hell, why did you have to bring mudkip into this? Mudkip didn't do anything wrong to you.

@lna1102 Well he can't lie about it...

@kashr118 Why wouldn't you want the band you love to become popular and they can get the critical acclaim they deserve? It sounds like you want to keep your underground superiority complex intact at the expense of the popularity Say Anything deserve.

@Zimpan Yea. haha that sucks for him i guess
favouritttte say ennythang song man

@Winnders It's not about sex, but rather something a little deeper. It's a metaphor, fool!
@deffcy54 He's a spider.
i dont think that radio and exposure ruins music
Saw them in tucson. 3
i like the fact that it looks like wood

@Zimpan whats up with the "(y)"

I must respectfully disagree, though your assessment is not entirely inaccurate. The music is neurotic to the extreme, but not emo. Emo is mopey and gushy. Say Anything is misanthropic and borderline nihilistic.
@CharlieCrucifix Cool
hahahaha i have no idea why i put that, it was a month ago. but lmao!!
@Nylonnoodle No doubt (y)
@Zimpan he can lie about it :P
is this song a fuckin reference to god damn razia's shadow
+SharktopusTV This song came out a good 4 years before Razia's shadow. that line is likely a reference to this song as both are sung by Max Bemis.
+SharktopusTV max was cast in it because of this song...
oh and btw, i think we all realise at this stage that the chorus is about sex! it really isnt that hard a metaphor to decipher guys :P
I laughed when I saw the cover of the album xD
paradox:)
i'm growing feet.
@Nylonnoodle It's thumbs up (y)
@MexicanPunkJackass He certainly can. But the evidence of it being a lie is kinda obvious.. Don't you think?
@kashr118 they're already really well known
start crying
Wait... People actually think this shit is good? "I am growing legssss, I am the spider...?" Uhh.... FTL.
@KrunkTwinz Write "(y)" in msn and you'll see =)

It was an old way of avoiding copyright flags
Obviously you haven't heard their lyrics.
It's okay bro, one day you'll realize they are emo... LOL
I want to keep Say Anything all to myself, let's not make it real big.
Who else is here from Carly and erins vlog
badddddddddddddd
this song is about sex too
if you were a true fan of the band you would pay for their CD, not rip the music.
@123121s1 Assssssssssssssssss!
@Zimpan dickslol
