This is a classic 'how not to ...' video. Most of these crossings were always going to end up with stranded water logged cars. The only ones that had the right idea were the cars with trailers at the end - snatch straps should have been pre-connected to a vehicle already on the other side, which drove along just fast enough to keep the slack out of the strap and ready to pull on command (by the driver of the car in the water) if needed. Too late to go rummaging around connecting straps to a vehicle that has already become stranded.
Ill-prepared, overconfident drivers and beer-swilling, phone-camera-gripping spectators. The Old Telegraph Track has become a playground for the cerebrally impoverished. Tow trucks and rescue helicopters sure do a thriving business up there these days. Ruined engines, ruined tracks, expensive 'fun'. People who think the Australian bush is some sort of theme park give 4x4 drivers a bad name. Just sad...
For all you people who shouted no when the person put the snatch strap over the tow ball, glad to see you are on the ball (so to speak) but, you were mistaken. They could have used the tow ball because the car was rolling and not stuck, someone said, “we've got a floater” and that means it was just the depth of the water and not the wheels stuck. However, better to side on the edge of caution and not use the tow ball. The takeaway point here is, if you are going to quote safety and recovery rules, get them right.
Those snorkelers (trucks with the snorkels) we're probably the smartest ones there. Waited till the backs bottomed out and used the wet sand as traction to push the rest of the vehicle out. Smartest ones there I'd have to assume. They also just knew how to drive, it was honestly satisfying
What a shit show, but at least they could conjure up enough brain cells to stop old mate using the tow ball. Otherwise the title would have been "guy dies at Nolans"
I dont get the point of this. If no one can get across then whats the point of trying? Is there no other way? Or this is how they wash trucks in Austrailia?
She keeps saying no rush. They are working as fast as they can. What you doing. Put your phone down and stop cracking jokes. How about you help if you can do it better.
Bunch of know it all Hero's sitting around staring as usual
Always happens during school holidays mate gunshot and Nolan’s a gathering point for cocks
Yep the idiot spectators with IQ of a cat looks like we're out in force...
Flogs
mondays experts hey
I always here them say turn of your car🤣🤣🤣🤣 flops
This was very hard to watch. So much for helping a bloke out instead of just filming away like idiots.
I know right. All that has gone out the window, apparently it's funnier to just film and watch people ruin their cars.
Wow, what an intelligent bunch.... it’s hard to watch this level of incompetence
Should rename it Bogans Brook, looking at the audience. Collective IQ would struggle to reach double figures.
@@johneller5856 bogans brook is perfect lol
All the experts on phones and commentary including this Sheila

They did have snatches. They were just people😭😭
Lol all tye experts standing yelling no no no.. that much hot air standing around that could have floated it out.
There were more snatch straps than accumulative IQ in this video
Great vid! Cheap day out for some, not so much for others. Looked like fun all the same!!
6x6 showed 'em how it's done!
Good work.
💪
The very rare occasion where a lot of weight is an advantage :)
Or drive a land rover. They leak so much they sink to the bottom no troubs.
@@andrewclarke2155 Landrover wouldn't make it out the driveway.
So many fucking Ferals and everyone is an expert.
Everybody's an expert
Where do I hook the snatch strap...how about that towball? (Noooooo!)
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE BUNCH OF CLOWNS!!
I think this is the one time I’d rather RUclips put music over it
I wonder how many poeple have been knocked out here
Not sure, but you better bet the screaming women will be the first if I was there…
Was there some sort of Rastafarian convention going on?
Who’s running this $hit show
Taking a caravan across, when you've seen a land cruiser flop around like a seal chasing a penguin.... That's brave.
Hey guys just wondering what time of year is this?
Just last month 😃
Can u drive around Nolans if u drive OTT?
Yes, but you miss out on a lot of the track
Awesome vid guys, i have some footage like that from 2013 i should put it up, the landscape has changed quite dramatically since then.
Did you put them up?
I’m takin me 12v bilge pump for this crossin🤣

Yeah the n70 💪🏻
Is there another way around?
What were they thinking?🤔
I don't think they were thinking at all 🤭
they werent
I want 80 series badly
Must make the drivers angry
I blew into my hand four times
The easily track of the lot was the one of the one by itself, look pretty gnarly but had the best base
Oiling up clear water cool.
Wonder what tyre pressures everyone was running
With the amount of imcompetence in this video, probably 40psi.
8 to 12 psi is a good range for Nolans.
Seems like the only ones making it through are the ones with lockers. If you're going to wheel through this kind of stuff, install lockers.
The last two were better prepared

its always the flogs watching and recording instead of helping
Just whack a outboard on the back
The smallest thing amuse the simplest of minds..hmmmmm.
Alcohol, 🤔🤔🤔🤔
If you are gonna get flooded, not a bad place to do it. Car at least comes out cleaner than it went in.
Daisy chain 2 snatch straps and lightly tow from the start. Problem solved, not much intelligence amongst such a large group of people
Oh my god. Where to begin. Who’s the genius that decided connecting to the tow ball was a great idea. I mean, what could possibly go wrong??
So the 6 wheel bt50 and the troopy made it without help

Just add alcohol.
Obviously still some ppl unaware of the dangers of a towball when snatching. DEADLY.
Wow some people dont deserve nice cars
3.22 did old mate wash his phone off
Have another beer and try again clowns. You are giving 4wheelers a bad name
If she's floating open the doors abit and let water in so the wheels touch the ground to get some traction
Often you can’t open the doors bro, the weight of the water against the doors make it super difficult to open them until you’re out
They didnt have to open the doors, it came in on its own lol.
First time seeing a black men, in to offroad in Australia
You can't see much at all when your heads up your arse and you live under a rock.
And the idiots of the day r those guys ha ha classic, at least you got some entertainment👏
What a shit show, but at least they could conjure up enough brain cells to stop old mate using the tow ball. Otherwise the title would have been "guy dies at Nolans"
The bloke that hooked the snatch strap on the tow ball, should have been knocked out, for that kind of stupidity
Lucky for him the Toyota’s have a plastic gearbox which helps them float.
F'in Wood ducks
Is that a snorkel or a didgeridoo?
The things you see people do at nolans makes ya cringe
I dont get the point of this. If no one can get across then whats the point of trying? Is there no other way? Or this is how they wash trucks in Austrailia?

O dear
Why don’t people put down there max tracks at Nolan’s to give them some traction? Surly they don’t float mutch
Numpty 😂
Fools and their money are easily parted.......
Who taught these guys how to tow? Jebus christ. Get the kids back is right! Probably move the adolescents back to.
