I've got the fluid video head up from that. The Smallrig 3457/3457B. It can handle 1kg more (5 kg opposed to 4 kg on the CH20) and the handle can be pushed together real compact. It doesn't have the bowl base, but plenty of adjustment to achieve a similar result. Just worked out neater.

Would love to have seen some actual pan/tilt footage from it to see how smooth it is or isn’t.

I’ve watched like 6-7 vids in a row on this head and having hard time finding any raw footage. Guessing SmallRig not allowing creators to say anything bad, per their “collab deal”.
Shame really, hate seeing some of my fav & most trusted creators make less relevant content. YT these days has turned into well-lit people reading spec sheets 🤦🏼‍♂️

@@kernzilla Amen, bro ! Couldn't say myself better than that. I was fast forwarding expecting to see some real world footage shot with this head. Nothing, void, nada. What a "review".

Always love the reviews you put out, appreciate it! Seems like a capable head, but have a question about integrating to my system: you said it’s arca swiss, and wondering it it’s a perfect fit for the SmallRig cages we all use that have AS. Sub-question: if it does fit, does it fit the head exactly 90° incorrectly? Meaning the tilt of head would result in a roll movement (think I said that right? 🙃)
The older I get, the more I detest adapter plates, and always trying to streamline my quick releases/adaptability.
Thanks m8 and keep up the good work!

Which monopod are you using? I was looking into the CH20 to pair up with a monopod, specifically the IFOOTAGE Monopod Cobra 3 C180F-P

The iFootage Cobra C180 is by far the best monopod I have ever owned and I have been very happy with it. I actually did an earlier video on it. ruclips.net/video/0BzVLsV-aM4/видео.html. Have a great day!

without camera, it tilts to the front when unlock. when there's a camera...it becomes "front heavy" .

Looks interesting but too bad the video is so dark you can hardly see the item.

How do you level this back to be straight on all axis? Is there any mechanism or you need to eye ball it?

Probably not if you want it to be smooth.

I have a title cage on my R5C which has an Arca Swiss bottom that runs the length of the camera and fits my Really Right Stuff tripod head. For some reason this fluid head seems to take a different width Arca Swiss plate. Wondering if this is the case, or are all Arca Swiss plates universal like the manfrotto base plate?

    • @EmeraldAudiovisual
      @EmeraldAudiovisual Год назад +1

Yes, no, maybe :) You will always have variances. The Tilta cage should fit, but if you look how the arca swiss plate is orientated on this tripod head, you'll see, that the handle is going to point the wrong way for you. Not really useful.

@@EmeraldAudiovisual That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming. Too bad, I was looking for something like this that I can put on a preexisting tripod for run and gun scenarios. Oh well.

@@marvinshaouni Smallrig has a model up from that one, called the Smallrig 3457 or 3457B. On that one, you can turn the arca swiss receiver. Even has a nice extendable and retractable handle. That's actually, what I use one of of my travel tripods.

Yup arca swish should be running long ways, first thing I noticed.

@@EmeraldAudiovisualthanks for mentioning this head, just looked this one up and seems to check all the wants off the list! That 90° swivel seems perfect for using native AS mount built into cage. And the built-in L-bracket seems handy for grabbing quick vert shot.
What’s your take on the smoothness/fluidity of this head? I shoot a lot with 70-200 on fluid head, and with my 502AH, I’ve got to be pretty careful (esp at long end) to get usable footage. This one for you on-par with some of the more popular fluid heads we all use?
Thanks m8, pretty stoked to learn more about this and potentially add to kit
