Thanks for that! I know how to ride a motorcycle, but my knowledge in mechanics is limited to fill the tank 😅 I'm planing to do some trips to some inhospitable places, so I'm trying to learn the mechanics to be able to fix some minor things on the road. Subscribed!
i just got added to a motorcycle fan group and im planning on buying one so im literally so confused. watching this quickly helped. im also planning on buying one.
When I was starting out learning how to work on bikes, I used a small old school motorcycle. The 1972 Honda SL125 was a perfect bike to learn fundamentals on. Being that it was so old, there weren’t a lot of complicated electronics or buried parts you couldn’t access easily.
RiderForge that’s awesome. Mine was actually my dads when he was in high school and then once he moved to college it sat in a barn from 1976-2006 when I pulled it out and slowly started working on it and learning. Still have the bike and I’ll never get rid of it.
i love the pro tip about the race cars.. a much appreciated detail. Thank you sooo much for these videos. No one w/ net access has an excuse to not become proficient at anything really... because of channels such as your self.
Thanks for making this video! I’m 30, vaguely familiar with how an engine works, and I’ve always wanted a harley motorcycle. I’m now actually spending some time doing a little research and gonna probably buy one next year. Never ridden one yet haha
Do you do this for a living? Voiceovers or podscasts or anything of that sort? It was so good it was rather confusing seeing you speak the way you do. I've taken many online courses and I never get to see the face behind the voice. Just thought it was curious how drawn I was to the video recording while you spoke and the reasons behind it. Anyways, great info and very detailed introduction. Really looking forward to the more advanced chapters. I recently learned about muffler's back-pressure after chopping mine in half for looks and learning I am going to have to most likely buy new ones.
I'm actually a pharmacist and I have always not really liked my voice. More recently people have been saying things like that; that I sound like an announcer or advertisement or something. Thanks for the positive feedback. I am making an effort to improve with every new video. The format is going to change. I want it shorter, more focused etc. I will probably focus on a single part at a time to make it easier for people to find exactly what they want over the "laundry list" approach in this video.
(1980-82) Yamaha sr250 ?? I just bought my first bike a month ago from my old man and to my untrained eye it looks identical to this..though mine is red and in very very bad shape :p Loved this video! thanks so much for it and so keen to see more of them to help on my looong journey to learning how to pull apart and overhaul my first moto project. Appreciated your opening comment too :)
Brooke F it's a 1978 xs400. Close! They do look very similar. Everything from the late 70s and early 80s is very difficult to tell apart. The good news is that they're also very similar to work on. Have fun. I'll be adding more videos soon. The channel is actually going through a major overhaul behind the scenes right now.
Haha i feel like your being kind when you say close, but thanks nonetheless! :) Stoked to hear your creating more ,this was excellent for novices like myself that need all the non condescending help they can get! Thanks heaps!
Thx man these are awesome, lately just been fascinated by motorcycle engines and just wanna completely learn the engines , until I can go to school for it
This video is exactly what I was looking for! Perfect! The only (minor) criticism I can find is that I feel you talk a little fast… other than that I cannot fault you! Thanks man!
Thanx bro 47 and just getting into riding. these will give me a nice base to not look like an FNG (fkn new guy) and buddy below is right. Great voice... though of voice acting
Very good video! Some tips: speak a bit slower, and show the written words popping up whenever you name a technical term. Especially needed if you native language is not English.
Unfortunately my residency has kept me slammed with work about 100 hours a week right now. I do have plans to expand and I did recently buy a new motorcycle. Things are definitely moving in the right direction!
@@freethevibez the principles are the same, yes, but the appearance is different. I'm thinking more in terms of audience appeal. More people might like to see something that looks exactly like what they ride.
Derek Leader I’m new to this and can use the help. I’ve found his vid extremely informative and loved it. I want to buy a project bike to work on during the winter, but I’ve never worked on one, not even rid one. I love building things and wanted to take on the challenge.
Would you say that it's too early for me to learn about motorcycles? I'd like to drive one when I become 18, though I don't know much about them. I'm 13 right now
Was wondering what was the website for this?? I’m trying to fix a motorcycle and i really do want to learn as much as I can learn while getting my license.
Yes. The general parts apply to all motorcycles including Harley's. There are certainly variations in shape and appearance, improvements in technology over time, but the principles are the same.
You have a great voice
thats why he's doing what he loves to do cause the voice has a lot to do with it. love the series bro keep grinding
Finally a video that doesn't take for granted you already know all the technical terms. Well done!
Loved it when u said if you’re 4foot tall and 90 pound women don’t worry
Best teacher I’ve ever heard, making it simple. So many ppl over complicate this stuff for a noobie like myself.
Thank you. I was going for this. I am glad you found it helpful! More to come soon!
This is perfect. You got the sauce. Don't ever change my dude
Men version of siri 2020

Totally agree. I started with a broken down '78 Yamaha XS400 2E kick start model. It was a great experience!

Excellent presentation. You get right to the material.
Respect for your teachings
You would be the greatest teacher in the world ! !
Thank you! I appreciate the comment.
Helpful! Brilliant! I'm not 4 foot and 90lbs, but those encouraging words made me feel more confident! And he's got that podcast voice ✌🔥
I love you for this because ❤️ I am going to get a motorcycle in 1 year :)
