It’s kinda sad in retrospect what happened to Charlie. In the end, she’s just a little girl who was unjustly killed and was forced to grow up and help others. Lovely Animation as well, it conveys perfectly what Charlie had to become in order to keep the others safe and her hatred for William.

They animate it with the Marionette because it is unclear whether it was him talking, or Charlotte herself. It's highly implied it was the Marionette talking, as he is an animateonic you can go against in UCN, no option says you can go against Charlotte herself.
+ Robotic programming overrides spirit (in the case of the Funtimes & the Marionette), so even if the UCN version of the Marionette was possessed Charlotte wouldn't be the one talking.

Charlie in the games is probably a little bit older than her novel counterpart. And in the books, she actually died at 2 and a half years old. Afton kidnapped her at the Halloween party of 1982. But Henry only accepted her death two months later, that’s why her grave says that she died in 1983. In the games, I believe that she was 4 and a half years old when she died, due to her voice in the puppet and her original birthday date from The Silver Eyes (May 13th, 1978).
