Rockstar should have an option to set the start of the timer as well as the intervals. Maybe Project Homecoming could do a Deathfred in which nobody dies in the first 5 minutes then 1 every minute from then on - just gives people a chance who've had a bad start.
Don't change cars in DEATHFRED... You change cars, you are asking for trouble ... Changed my initial car on my way to Chilad. Had Feltzer as second pick. And I believe you missed 9F on the same place where I found my Feltzer.
I did amend that afterwards saying "don't change your car unless you're in the top half of the people remaining". I think that's a reasonably decent rule for success. I also knew I was passing 9Fs and Feltzers. Not getting them helped me to this result imo.

the checkpoints etc will be all the same, do keep in mind that if you play with friends that you explain the rules, like not killin one another on purpose and the run from the lighthouse to the highway, that no cars can be grabbed in between those points.

you can play Gfred on ps4, if you download the race from the community website, deathfred is just gfred with the destroy last place setting on.
