I just realized that the lights at the Lost & Found sign don't work correctly until Mrs. Brown talks to Paddington (1:02). First only the word Lost is illuminated and after Mrs. Brown's appearance the word Found, too. I love such details.

I saw this today. This was the sweetest film I have ever watched this year. At first I didn't want to watch this because I thought it would be one of those films that would have toilet humour and adult jokes like Scooby-Doo and The Cat in the Hat. Movies like them are exactly why films like Paddington are getting such a bad reputation: It sets you up into thinking it's the same when it isn't. I love this film so much and Paddington is so adorable.
i absolutely love how when paddington is sitting alone under the lost and found sign only the lost part is lit but when mary goes over to him the found lights up.. so brilliant
When Mary says, 'Hello there,' expressed with concern through every pore in her face I damn near welled up 10 minutes into the film. There's something about how genuine she comes across, as well as Hawkins' acting chops, that makes this such a heartfelt moment. I was hooked from that point. Super film.
Such a coincidence this film was released during the rise of the Syrian refugee crisis, especially with it's simple message about helping those in need and learning to embrace others who are different out of the goodness of one's heart. Funny how sometimes it takes a children's film to remind people of their humanity.
I'm writing a 40 page essay over this scene for a film expression class, and the amount of subtext here is insane. This movie is a fucking masterpiece.
I quite love this, a simple charming idea for a story and main character, the feel reminds me a little of the movie Babe, it drips with personality. I must see this, I hope they stay true to the feel and not botch it up with trends to make it "hip"

I'm not a vegetarian myself, but yet I deeply respect the character of someone who can shift their life so completely on "mere" principle.
I always liked how they changed the Brown kids ages throughout the years since they looked almost like twins in the original books. Johnathan was the oldest in the 89 and 97 show while Judy was the oldest in the 75, movies, and 2019 show.
I think Judy is my favourite character. She is your typical moody teenager but she does warm up to Paddington and even learns to speak Bear. That's why I like her. :)

For those who don't know already the label around the neck is what happened to child evacuees from London and the major cities in the UK in 1940 when the german bombing was about to start. The author also made a very good point of including the character of Mr Gruber who was also a refugee from oppression in Germany (it is never stated that he is Jewish but I think we can all figure that out).
I like how the Paddington films show most of the characters from the TV show. Not just Paddington & the Brown family, but also Aunt Lucy, Mrs Bird, Mr Curry & Mr Gruber. Though I don’t recall Uncle Pastuzo much.
I thought it wasn't going to be brilliant but, bar an unnecessary subplot and a silly chase sequence, it was utterly charming and genuinely witty; and is by no means, simply a children's film (I'm a 50 year old football supporting biker)
