Let me tell you why this works: The Ninja "Blender" is really more of a food processor, with several large blades that can chop as well as blend. The blender? It needs liquid to pull the food to the small blade. The Ninja takes the blades to the food, like a food processor, and thus works better for chopping.
I love how he throws things in a blender (or like he did the salsa in the magic bullet) and then talks about how it tastes like the blender is going to inject flavor into it somehow. If it tastes bad its your fault not the blender's.
Next, you should compare your toaster to your microwave to see which is better at making toast. How do you have a cooking channel and not know these appliances are meant for different applications?
Would you call a motorcycle a car if I told you it was a car? Of course not. Likewise, calling a food processor a blender doesn't suddenly make it a blender. It's still a food processor.
Jack, I am glad you liked the Ninja blender. I have had one for about one year after my "traditional" blender bit the dust. I make Salsa weekly and smoothies once in a while. I have also used it to "mash potatoes". It is definately a Must Have in our house.
I've had my Ninja for a year now. I make daily green smoothies, we entertain & make lots of iced drinks ( the Ninja makes 'snow' in seconds), I also make a coconut custard pie (mix it all in my Ninja) which is everyone's fav. I would recommend it... Love it & can't live without it!
Yes, the blade design is what makes the Ninja special. It does a great job and does it really fast. With the blades on the bottom only, the stuff near the blades gets pulverized before the top stuff can get cycled down. I love that just a couple of pulses and you have salsa. If you want it more blended, just give it more pulses.
Well for about $40 it appears the Ninja is both processor and blender. So you come out cheaper than a blender and processor separate. that's my take away at least.
@DeadlikeaPixel the big container is 6 cups just like my blender was. the small one is for small things. It's really easy to move the motor. lift and set down. I really was impressed.
Me and my family got this for my birth day we love it so much it makes amazing smooties and great with making snow its a great thing to have in the kitchen I 100% recomend it for people :D
Just a suggestion but you might want to test the Ninja against a food processor in the salsa experiment for a more "fair" test, because blenders are, by their design, used to blend foods together. I just found your videos and like them very much.
The Ninja is awesome!!! I got mine at Wal Mart for 40 bucks. Makes the best blended drinks and smoothies. The small one does a great job of chopping stuff and making salsa and dips!
So, I know I'm coming to the game a bit late with this comment, but... I see all these people commenting that the ninja is a food prep machine and "not a blender" and that he's comparing apples and oranges, but my take on it is this: The ninja is a multi-purpose tool that includes operation as a blender. Since the ninja blends better than the blender, I think the product review is solid. It shows that the ninja can blend as well or better than a cheap blender, (which is what the initial goal was), and that the ninja can also serve multiple purposes. The ninja is not a vitamix. It's also not trying to be, and it's 4+ times less expensive, depending on the model. The ninja is not trying to be a juicer, or a comparable product. As far as I'm concerned, crushing ice is a blender's biggest challenge and my ninjas, and I own like 3.. 1 for work, 2 for home, have all worked for years, and can turn ice into "snow". I've never had one die on me, and I'm hard on them. I'm a fan.
Thanks for the review! I just saw the informercial for this and I want one but went straight to your review first! I love your reviews and now I just have to put this on my birthday list, haha.
I love the review. I just got my Ninja and absolutely love it. One thing this review didn't mention is how incredibly easy it is to clean. Thanks for the review.
I've had my Ninja for about 4 months now.It makes a super smooth guacamole, and I use it to make my tuna salad.I throw everything in and let it rip.Another nice feature is the container doubles as a storage container for whats left over. The only limitation I have found was making my own grated parmesan with it,you have to make the cheese into fairly small cubes for it to handle.
I have the ninja and love it. It chops diced pieces better than the magic bullet. I have the black one with four blades. It blends really well. I use the ninja for more than blending. I recommend it.
Excellent review Jack! My next blender will be a Ninja. My current Kitchenaid suffers from blow out at the bottom around the blade. I wouldn't even attempt the salsa in it as would end up with soup. Thanks for another great video.
I've had a Ninja for about a year now and I love it, although I have never tried a Vitamix to be able to compare. I use frozen fruit for smoothies (no ice), so you could try that. I use ice for frozen coffee drinks.
I have the ninja, only good thing it does is crush ice. All the frozen fruit goes to the side so you have to constantly shake it up after like 5 seconds
@cayen1234 I felt the same way. I realized that top blade cuts and pushes down what normally doesn't get cut. It prevents you from liquifying the bottom while trying to cut the top.
I love my Ninja blender set. My brother bought me one for Christmas a few years ago. Also, take the tip from the infomercial and break up the ice first then add in everything else, always going shy on the liquid. IDK what the Ninja does but it liquify really well so you don't need as much liquid in milkshakes etc. O and if your looking for a treat on a hot day, pulse ice to snow in your Ninja them top with syrup for snow cones =)
I've had that little Ninja for a year. lt's the best as seen on Tv Thing I've gotten. America's Test Kitchen, found that a more powerful blender will chop veges rather than puree them.
@thatgirlisflyytt Jack is just a pioneer in the cooking industry. Nothing goes better with fresh salsa than a nice brick of charcoal, and now everyone knows it!
Actually I would have to say it can be considered both as you dont usually use a food processor to make frozen mixed drinks which is one of the main things i use mine for LOL
What I liked about the Ninja, was that it chopped / diced the salsa ingredients and didn't liquidfy 'em. I make my oun cabbage cole slaw, always putting in minced carrot. This product would no doubt do a grand job IMHO. When my mini cuisenart dies, I WILL get one! :-)
The better blender leaves a better taste, pretty simple. If the ingredients are not mixed up well enough, takes from the taste of the finished product. And the Ninja looked like it left the blend with a better looking texture, which again effects the eating experience. So I would say this is a pretty good test.
“The Ninja Master Prep is one simple-to-use product that has a revolutionary ice crushing capability that allows you to do things that other appliances simply can’t match. It outperforms any other blender, mixer or combination appliance in the industry and best of all it is at an affordable price.” It sounds like a blender to me.
Thank you for the review. I bought a Magic Bullet yesterday for $29.99 on sale but didn't use it because I was unsure of it. The Ninja Master Prep Pro is on sale here for $39.99 so I'm going to return my Magic Bullet tomorrow and pickup a Ninja. Thanks for the great video review.
my dad uses the ninja for milkshakes and they are delicious he absoulutly luvs it u can also make othr things besides smoothies and salsa it is a really awesome machine
I've had two different versions of the Ninja, the two blade and later, three blade and both are fantastic. For better salsa, chop the tomatoes first, then add the minced garlic, onion, cilantro and jalapeno to the mixture. Same for making guacamole. Do the avocado first. I'm probably going to get the New Ninja KS1200, which not only blends and chops, but makes dough and juices for a little over $100.
Well remember there's 3 different versions of the ninja.... I always use my friends Ninja the same version as this one, I never get left with chunks and it always blends great, I guess some people just get different results haha :)
I've had the ninja for about two years now and it's gone from making smoothies and helping with potato salad to making my son's baby food. I love it, but I've been pretty rough on it and I think it's time to get a new system. IMO it was worth the money.
@enrikejs That bag at Costco is only $3.50. If you go to a regular supermarket a smaller bag 1/2 of the big bag is also $3.50. You might as well get more for your money. That's my logic. BTW, it is a crapload of tortilla chips.
I know exactly what you mean, I've been overseas for a year and i'm now used to the small European portions, that thing looks huge lol. No wonder everybody is so huge.
I LOVE MY NINJA !!! Iv had mine for about 2 years now. It does a great job at chopping in like 3 pulses. I wish I had this before I bought a margarita machine (180.00 bucks :( ) the ninja does the same thing. Glad you did a review :) love your show.
Hey Jack, love the show! Especially the Lazy Man's vids and the reviews. Hey, can you do a review on the FlavorWave? I think it's from TellSell... it's the silly oven with Mr. T in it. No, not in the oven but in the commercial ;)
Just got one of these. It doesn't obliterate flax seeds like the nutribullet. I have to grind them separately in my vita mix. Its a good product though, its tough on ice.
Better smoothie recipe: 3/4 cup tropical juice about 1/4 -1/2 cup yogurt (I use strawberry) About 1 1/2-2 cups FROZEN fruit Blend till smooth I use mine in my Magic Bullet so I just fill it to the top with fruit so that's just guessing on the amount
I've had my Ninja for over a year, and it's still great. The only mistake I made was using it to grind cinnamon. While it did the job, it scratched the hell out of the container. Now I'm looking at a dedicated coffee and spice grinder.
Hi Jack, Could you do a review on the newer Nutri Ninja Auto IQ line? I have a couple of their models. They are really great. I have their Nutri Ninja BL488 and the Nutri Ninja Duo BL642W1 with all parts. Both of these units really rock. These are their newer Auto iQ. I love these I got the BL488 when I bought Ninja Coffee Bar. The Cups are very sturdy too. And these also make great smoothies.
Vitamix is twice the price and no one needs to grind up rocks. The Ninja can do the same job that Vitamix can do for 1/2 the price or less. Vitamix is amazing but at some point who needs that much power.
I can, using my Vita Mix, take whole wheat, grind it into flour, add water salt etc., and then kneed it into pizza dough. I can then make my own pizza sauce as well. Care to try that on this Ninja blender?
+DiggyB Oster is not a good comparison , I agree , look at a Vitamix versus a Ninja ~ different league all together. John Kohler from Discount Juicers , a raw foodist does these reviews all the time . He is a raw foodist however , we tend to look at products differently , we do not spend money on stoves , microwaves etc , so investing in a blender or masticating juicer takes priority . Check out the Juicer guy as well .
@wonderblunt walmart has the newer model for $99. I would probably buy that one for me. If you want the one I did on the show, then go to amazon. Very good return policy.

Wizkid490 I mean its called a ninja BLENDER
Ghostvids W/Liam
Too bad it routes directly to the processor part
The Ninja is a processor/ The Oster is a blender.
Blenders puree and liquefy, they are horrible choppers
I love how he throws things in a blender (or like he did the salsa in the magic bullet) and then talks about how it tastes like the blender is going to inject flavor into it somehow. If it tastes bad its your fault not the blender's.
Next, you should compare your toaster to your microwave to see which is better at making toast. How do you have a cooking channel and not know these appliances are meant for different applications?
My sentiments exactly.
CologneCar
All I'm saying is that it is called The Ninja BLENDER. So, he was testing it as such.
Wow those Strawberries are huge!
wow jack, really love how you compare the two. Best part is how you also told the viewers where to buy their for cheep. Thank you
Lol I watched this while a ninja commercial was on in the background😆!
@BladeAssault the motor really impressed me. very easy to press, take apart and clean. It was a big surprise.
The cool thing about the Oster blenders since the bottoms screw off you can screw it on a mason's jar so it's more compact
But... you never explain, why would I want to blend Ninjas in the first place???
lol
Larry!
Those blades will come out fighting if you say that LOL :D :P
What are you dong here Larry!
i love the size of the bag of chips
Yes, the blade design is what makes the Ninja special. It does a great job and does it really fast. With the blades on the bottom only, the stuff near the blades gets pulverized before the top stuff can get cycled down.
I love that just a couple of pulses and you have salsa. If you want it more blended, just give it more pulses.
A traditional blender isn't the appliance you want to compare the Ninja to. Gotta use a food processor for salsa. Save the blender for milkshakes.
Well for about $40 it appears the Ninja is both processor and blender. So you come out cheaper than a blender and processor separate. that's my take away at least.
ive had the ninja for many many years. still works
You have to chop veggies small for the blender..the blades on the Ninja are very very sharp.
the ninja blender acts more like a food processor than blender
But isn't a blender a food processor?
they both work the same yes but are different tools and what they are used for
Wow that smoothie looks so good!
You said it
lovee the product reviews
@MooseOfReason my recipe didn't say to do it that way. It really turned out smooth. I was happy with it.

THis is by FAR the best product review I have seen on RUclips!!!! You are entertaining and fun to watch. Looking forward to more, thanks.
Thanks Jack! I love the product reviews, keep them coming!
I love the review. I just got my Ninja and absolutely love it. One thing this review didn't mention is how incredibly easy it is to clean. Thanks for the review.

I have a ninja and it is amazing for frozen drinks. You NEVER have a typical blender problem with the ninja.
I asked for a Magic Bullet re-do but this is what I got and I'm happy! Great vid JACK!
I love my Ninja! And yes, it does blend.
10 out of 10
WOW! That Ninja thing whipped up the salsa in a flash!
Excellent review Jack! My next blender will be a Ninja. My current Kitchenaid suffers from blow out at the bottom around the blade. I wouldn't even attempt the salsa in it as would end up with soup. Thanks for another great video.

How well does it blend mayonnaise?
Ninja wins. I love my Ninja, it's a brilliant wee machine. It does everything to chopping, smoothies , salsa, ice cream, you name it & it'll make it.
@Morpun yes. you can. not sure of the flavor, but the consistency would be fine.
I give this video and the ninja master prep a 10/10.
Glad this worked better than the Magic Bullet. Thanks for doing a similar "re-review" so to speak with a different product.
Actually I would have to say it can be considered both as you dont usually use a food processor to make frozen mixed drinks which is one of the main things i use mine for LOL
LOL, your Mother in law's Ninja! Hahaha! I love watching your vids & bloopers! You rock, Jack!
i love that it's such a healthy snack
What I liked about the Ninja, was that it chopped / diced the salsa ingredients and didn't liquidfy 'em.

thanks in the market for a blender. helped a lot.
I don't understand why people are criticizing Jack on this channel. It's just his review on products. If you don't like it, just stop watching.
oh I forgot, Bless you Jack, you're a great guy
Jack, you seem like a really nice guy. Thanks for the videos
Frigging LOVE my Ninja blender! So glad you did a review on it!! ^^
Thanks in the market for a blender & this helped me out
my dad uses the ninja for milkshakes and they are delicious he absoulutly luvs it u can also make othr things besides smoothies and salsa it is a really awesome machine
lime and salt are good
when i was a kid i always wondered why blenders only had one small blade i hope that they all will have the tower blade
I've had two different versions of the Ninja, the two blade and later, three blade and both are fantastic. I hate the sound effects oh my god..
the lip smacking,
The mmm’s
The ooohhh’s
The crunching
The heavy breathing
The talking please stop
I don't even like Salsa....but watching this makes me want to make some.
@katieKMO sorry. I have to think about it. I just don't want to say I love it unless I do.
I know this is an old video but..
Will It Blend?
+Kathul Emerald "Don't breathe this"
Ninja smoke, don't breath this
+Kathul Emerald I used to love that show xD
Kathul Emerald lets talk about that.
Well remember there's 3 different versions of the ninja.... I always use my friends Ninja the same version as this one, I never get left with chunks and it always blends great, I guess some people just get different results haha :)
@MrDuckNipple I am always skeptical of these TV products. So yeah. I thought it would fail, but always give props when deserved.
I've had the ninja for about two years now and it's gone from making smoothies and helping with potato salad to making my son's baby food. I love it, but I've been pretty rough on it and I think it's time to get a new system. IMO it was worth the money.
Can you make an omelett with the Ninja blender?
@enrikejs That bag at Costco is only $3.50. If you go to a regular supermarket a smaller bag 1/2 of the big bag is also $3.50. You might as well get more for your money. That's my logic. BTW, it is a crapload of tortilla chips.
thanks Jack, I'm sold!!
I love my Ninja Prep- Fast and easy to clean. so easy
@poool157 next week I will talk about the tomato planter.
I know exactly what you mean, I've been overseas for a year and i'm now used to the small European portions, that thing looks huge lol. No wonder everybody is so huge.
All I'm saying is why would they call it a "Ninja Blender" if it wasn't a blender?
@randomnoone the ninja I showed is only $35 on amazon. The Blentech is $400.
I LOVE MY NINJA !!! Iv had mine for about 2 years now. It does a great job at chopping in like 3 pulses. I wish I had this before I bought a margarita machine (180.00 bucks :( ) the ninja does the same thing. Glad you did a review :) love your show.
@angmoo i'm not sure. Let me go look.
They both hold 6 cups (48 oz.)
Can that tortilla bag be any bigger
@blt7791 I would agree but the ninja is advertised as a blender and kitchen pulse blender and not a food processor.
Better smoothie recipe:
3/4 cup tropical juice
about 1/4 -1/2 cup yogurt (I use strawberry)
About 1 1/2-2 cups FROZEN fruit
Blend till smooth
I use mine in my Magic Bullet so I just fill it to the top with fruit so that's just guessing on the amount
I've had my Ninja for over a year, and it's still great. The only mistake I made was using it to grind cinnamon. While it did the job, it scratched the hell out of the container. Now I'm looking at a dedicated coffee and spice grinder.

What a beautiful review!
I really like the Ninja. It doesn't do a ad job for the price.
wait a minute...if it's a ninja blender...that means it blends ninjas!
I WANT ONE!
But will it blend?
I'm not kidding around, send that ninja blender to Blend-Tec!
omg i need the ninja blender so badly
Now compare ninja to vitamix. Vitamix is better

A plus for vitamix is that it can make hot soup!

+Roxyie Curone I make all my soups with the $60 Ninja...
@wonderblunt walmart has the newer model for $99. I would probably buy that one for me. If you want the one I did on the show, then go to amazon. Very good return policy.
@CaptainSaul18 were you the one who left the book review on Amazon?
Only in America would you find a bag of Tortilla Chips that size.
