That was a nice little section... Wish Colorado was closer. Ive been about 8 times, but always during the winter. Would love to make a summer trip with the hardtail.
I was at winterpark during the winter, i heard the mountain had some nice downhill trails but never decided to go again. Now i might go back with my friend this summer ^^
hell yeah! I was up there a couple weeks ago and looked at that first wooden turn of that run but just went the other way to that banked turn, nice filming
This is awesome, next time I'm visiting in CO I'll have to hit this place up. The rough bit at 1:06 looks a bit painful, I remember when I was at Whistler the times when I almost lost control of my bike the most was when going way too fast for my poor ol' Manitou Metal R to keep up with and it would nearly shake my hands off the bars (most often on A-line late summer) Thanks for the upload, this trail looks really awesome.
Looks fun...my son rides, and in Wales it is often cold and muddy and rocky and rooty and slippery, and at one comp, all the rider's legs were stung with hail and sleet blowing horizontal at them..Summer riding is better as no bikes to strip down and clean after every ride..this track here looks good in my opinion!
Gonna hit this up in the summer. I tried a hard DH run at Angelfire with my bike that has a head tube angle of 69. I was terrified, but once you try it on a freeride or downhill bike the difference is dramatic. Gotta have my TR250 built by May 18.
I love these cameras I lived in Jackson Hole for several years which was awesome since Im a dirt jumper and from Memphis and this looks like a shortened version of the path I took to and from work everyday(I worked at Snowking Mtn Resort the steepest commercial slope in the world) I literally rode my bike up a mountain around the face across the ridge to Snowking and then down the face and it was a huge rush! I actually rode down the Teton 22 pass once and peed my pants twice.....
Hey mountain bikers, I live in Florida USA (where there aren't many hills), and I recently went mountain biking on some fairly nice trails. I loved the hills, turns, small drops, and other obstacles. This was my first time and I had so much fun I wanted to get into the sport more. Does anyone have tips for beginner mountain bikers( places to go (any tips on getting more agile with the bike)
@Toresha777 True except from my experience, this video makes what he's doing small. I have done 8 foot drops that you can barely see on my helmet cam, so what he's doing must be pretty big. Bigger than it looks! All the more props to him because you can see some big drops in this!
I agree, when you actually have one and know how fast you're going then look at the footage afterwards it doesn't seem like you were going all that fast.
looked pretty fun. i could do that on a hybrid bike tho. the mountain bike trails near me are in my opinon imposible. the trail is 3 inches wide, there are roots and chunks of stone everywere, swamp on one side, and trees sticking out into the trail on the other.
what you do, is you will come off your peddles a little bit and your butt is supposed to be off the seat.. but you just have to be comfortable standing and going up ramps for starters, then you get to the landing which is easy.. just feel lightweight and when you land you kinda go with the flow.
depends where you put the camera, i used to have it on my helmet but now i bought chest mount and it's much better you can see the steering, fork, front wheel and arms of the driver. Anyway there is no camera in the world that will show exactly how driver feels and how actually difficult the track is. GoPro is made to capture stunts and movements and it does awesome job, it's not to make you feel the same adrenaline as the person who performed the stunt.
no, thats where you're wrong. This is not a crosscountry trail. it requires heavier more bulky style of bikes. the bike this guy is riding is 4 times heavier than ur cross country mountain bike, plus these trails have: jumps, drops, and steeep bank turns. you simply could not possibly bike up terrain like that especially on a downhill specific bike.
I agree there thats why you need to take a second camera and have it near the jumps to show your height (and tricks). Plus it makes for a better video when you have transitions and cuts. I love just being able to see the POV of the Rider but to make a really good video you WILL need the 2nd camera.
It is possible on a hardtail you just feel alot more of the bumps and more strain on your knees. Most people would advise full suspension but if you have a good pair of forks on the front you should be fine
Mounting the gopro on your head makes your jumps look way smaller than they are. Is this a fairly easy line or do you really have to pump it to make the jumps?
How do you keep your GoPro from shaking...I noticed you are on a smooth single track as well. I rode a rock garden yesterday and it was so shaky! Any help would be great.
SO question, I have family that just moved to Denver, and I will be visiting a lot since I don;t have to get a hotel ha, I do a ton of XC mountain biking in North Texas I have a hardtail cannondale, and I have pretty good bike skills, and a fairly fast rider. I've done a few jumps 2-3 feet nothing major, mainly because we don't have downhill in Texas.. Would my hardtail do alright on the winter park trails? I have tubeless tires as well so I would be running a little lower tire pressure...
Awesome trail..cover that rattle with some music. Mine does it too....drives me nuts. I would used the open back more, but I land in the drink too much. Ride on!
i guess its the same with all cameras... i mean a lot of people think that archery is easy but they don't know how hard it is to get a good consistent shot.
its the fish eye lens that they have fitted to the camera... we get a large field of view which is good for a lot of pov shots... but we trade that for poor depth perception ... you can really only see the difference when you see a trail that youve already ridden on filmi think they should made the next go pro have interchangeable lenses to fix this
I swear, downhill mountain biking makes for THE best GoPro POV videos.
I still cry after 5 months of watching this man....
buttery smooth riding. Thanks for keeping the original soundtrack intact.
Thanks for the ride. Very, very cool. Haven't been on a bike in 28 years. Felt like I was back on the saddle.
@Mahavolhoff the soft sound of your breathing stimulated me in ways you cant imagine, my friend. thank you.

That looks like an amazing run... great bike and skill! Kudos!
Great transitions man. that was a really smooth run.
Trestle is so fun. Can't wait for summer so I can go riding again! Keystone bike park is also pretty boss, but I think I like Trestle a little better.
@Americanrebel13 winter park colorado its a ski resort in winter and bike park called Trestle
Looks fun...my son rides, and in Wales it is often cold and muddy and rocky and rooty and slippery, and at one comp, all the rider's legs were stung with hail and sleet blowing horizontal at them..Summer riding is better as no bikes to strip down and clean after every ride..this track here looks good in my opinion!

omg omg.... I was freaking out as if i was riding down that hill...that was scary. GOOD JOB!

this video deserves more views.
sweet run. and thanks for not using music on the vid, honestly!
This is winter park, Florida. I went skiing there a year ago :)
Wow. i know that you had to practice/see how the trail was outlined on this particular route or bike route that looks soo much fun though!
@Toresha777 True except from my experience, this video makes what he's doing small. I have done 8 foot drops that you can barely see on my helmet cam, so what he's doing must be pretty big. Bigger than it looks! All the more props to him because you can see some big drops in this!

Go Pro cameras really flatten out the trails
This is like Drop In TV. Loved that show!
looks like an easy fun ride great for beginners to intermediate riders. Great vid i would love to ride the trail.

I just had an adrenaline rush watching that. Hats off!

You are FLYING, Great run man!

Awesome virtual ride! Felt the thrill... hoping to do it in real sometime!
Crazy! Loco! Pazzo! Verruckt! and all the rest on G Translate! This is awesome!!!
It is possible on a hardtail you just feel alot more of the bumps and more strain on your knees. Most people would advise full suspension but if you have a good pair of forks on the front you should be fine
its not like you get to the top and the trails right there, its at the bottom of the mountain so its a pretty long ride to it.
I cant wait to hit this next week...sooo pumped!
is there a lot of skill involved in this? or is it mainly just steering and breaking at the right times?
That looked a bit scary but amazing well done mate
Awesome.... How do you get to the top of the trail? Hope you don't have to push the bike up there, youl be knackered before you start.
apparently you can set them up so they look 3D, it might show the trail difficulty a bit more. Not too sure though.
When you go over those jumps, do you pull up at all, or is that just the speed doing all the work?
oh man i love to ski, but i cant wait to hit some parks up on the downhiller!
Nice video, very cool trails
Thank you for all the torstein videos :)
Mounting the gopro on your head makes your jumps look way smaller than they are. Is this a fairly easy line or do you really have to pump it to make the jumps?
Most of the trails ive seen seem to be pretty smooth and flowy, are there many tech dh runs there?
Awesome track :P I had a great ride in HD! :D
Very nice video!
wow this looks fun,how do u get back to the top/
When I was like 3 this is how good it felt to have my training wheels off.
looks fun wat state/country is this in
is winter park better than crested butte? are the a lot of runs? because this looks sick
Looks like a lot of fun, it's a shame I don't have such trails near me :/
How do you keep your GoPro from shaking...I noticed you are on a smooth single track as well. I rode a rock garden yesterday and it was so shaky! Any help would be great.

That looks like a total blast.
You got like 3 feet of air that time! 10 points for the reference
How high were some of those drops? Its hard to tell with the curve of the GoPro lense.
Have fun getting to the top again.
yeah, that looks real wintery bro
wow! you must be going 20mpg + on those straits. crazy
Awesome trail..cover that rattle with some music. Mine does it too....drives me nuts. I would used the open back more, but I land in the drink too much. Ride on!
EXACTLY! I thought I was the only one that thought that but it's so true. Everything just looks small...
That looks sick, I may consider going there!
Scary but looks fun. I feel safer in my 4x4 though :)
I've always liked these P.O.V. videos.
@91blackofy No It's just casue of the way he mounted it
Really good run man! Looks fun! :D
i guess its the same with all cameras... i mean a lot of people think that archery is easy but they don't know how hard it is to get a good consistent shot.
Nice. How much air were you getting off those?
that looks so fun and scurry at the same time
And you have fun sitting in front of your computer all day while the rest of us have fun being outside and doing sports.
sweet man. what u ridin
are you going to pick up that branch you left??
are all these places free to go to? and are they in america?
Is this in the US? what state? and are there any of these downhill bike parks in southern cali?

Good job man looks pretty sick
Great ride, looks like a great track

@reeds101 One is the race run and the one this guy is one is the everyday run. They never intersect.
so what do you do sit in your house all day?
do you have to walk you bike all the way back up?
That trail is so much fun!!

Has this guy ever heard of breaks...he's amazing!
i got those same gloves you're wearin. sweet ride.
Go to one of the state parks and ride.I used to go to Starved Rock and ride a lot.Mathiessen State Park is good too.
Does anyone know where this is and what (if any) restrictions there are to riding on it??
its the fish eye lens that they have fitted to the camera... we get a large field of view which is good for a lot of pov shots... but we trade that for poor depth perception ... you can really only see the difference when you see a trail that youve already ridden on filmi think they should made the next go pro have interchangeable lenses to fix this

Beautiful!!! No GoPro Rattle!!! Good Job! What's Your Secret!?
