- Sonic the Hedgehog (NES) All Bosses (No Damage). It is a hack of Somari (unlicensed port of Sonic the Hedgehog for NES made in 1994). It was first created by the jabu in November 20th 2016. It was then improved upon by Ti and re-released December 1st, 2016. The game play was improved and the sound effects will no longer interrupt the music.
Boss list:

02:54 Boss 03 Spring Yard Zone Act 3

Interesting fact: original Somari had Scrap Brain Zone coded in, but then the developers decided to remove it for an unknown reason.
Alex Frogman it’s most likely because of the different transitions on act 2 and act 3.
Because they Scraped ther Brains.
Huh
Irony
[puns incoming]
compared with somari, this is actually half decent
Not really, but yes.
It's litteraly just Somari and it's flaws (Glitches, shitty level design with infinite spike traps, graphical error, a shitload of air ennemies) but with Sonic instead. But, this could very well be the upgraded rom as it looks munch cleaner than the original Sonic hack.
From this gameplay, it seems to control a little better as well, that's why.
@@drizzziit1 No, it's actually got a ton of bug fixes and other general improvements, the mod isn't just Sonic.
Compared with Sonic 1 it is as well lol
@@MilesAway Now i know that it is in fact a fixed version. Thx.
I still had a hard time figuring out weather it was or not, good to know.
now all we need is a marionic
Wow, I can't believe this went from a weird hack to an actually legitimate thing! Great job to everyone involved!
*Now you are playing with power,*
*Blast Processing Power!*
yey
What?
yes
NES: *wait, that’s illegal*
GIOMTRI DISH!?!?!?
Damn, for a Nes game, this looks precious. Wow.

@@bbasonic5168 are you 5 years old?
I sincerely appreciate how creative the Boss for Starlight Zone is. I honestly wonder how they would do the see saw gimmick and was impressed with the new boss
J red 0yi ut 8it up iy
I don't like the boss because it drags for too long and after the first 3 hits it becomes boring
how to fix it? make Eggman hover a little bit closer to the ground, so it's risky for Sonic to go after him, but far from impossible
True
This looks a lot better than the hack I bought on cartridge some 10 years ago.
Yep, this is most likely an upgraded rom of the Somari hack you bought and played.
Finally an nes port that doesn't sound like total cat shit.😠😆
It actually feels real!😊😉
5:05 That one Flicky just decided to kill itself
"I- I'm finally freeee~ WAAAAA"
1:03 Ahh yes.
The flickering semi-sphere of... doom?
The rapidly spinning quarter sphere of doom.
It looks like that because you're viewing this in 30fps.

Wow, i have to say, those Sonic sprites are really good! They capture his attitude perfectly, perhaps moreso than some of the official games have.
So, you can do this on Nintendo! Who's got blast processing now!?
Ruben Hernandez Nintendo because blast processing on an 8 bit console
I just remember flashbacks from the superb processing tech.
Lol blast processing is just a marketing slogan
Game gear/master system
Well it’s not really that fast, but I think it would be SUPER good on a SUPER Nintendo!
The star light zone background is just perfection🔥🔥
labyrinth boss no damage

They ruined the boss, as you could see.
I really like how they changed half of the bosses to work better with the gameplay.
Spring yard is a tad harder. The boss floats around the top of the screen, but he is within Sonic's jumping range. He flies upwards off-screen and slams down on you. Wreaking any ground the spike is touching.
Labyrinth is a little easier becuase the auto scroll makes sure you can get up before you drown. But there is the falling.
Star light looks challenging. He glides out of reach before stopping twice to shoot four projectiles in pre-set locations. Which just so happen to be the most annoying positions. Then he glides along the ground before stopping in the middle to shoot the four projectiles upwards. Despite being in a worse engine it's better then the original fight on the official console. *WHO'S LAUGHING NOW SEGA???*
The irony that Somari actually works as a Sonic game.
I wonder what would of happened if the original Sonic The Hedgehog 🦔 Video Game came out on the NES...
Yeah...
Sonic start hitting eggman
Eggman says : pingas
You know what they say the more the merrier
GET A LOAD OF THIS!!
Is April fools day year round where you live?
I know it's unpopular, but this is the good port on nes!
Not gonna lie. That version of Spring Yard Zone's boss is more dangerous to a '1 life run' than the standard.
An alternative universe where Nintendo owns Sonic and Sega owns Mario
Yessss!
What a timeline...
R.I.P mario

*A hack of a hack of a pirate homebrew
*Wait! I have a sonic the hedgehog nes and it starts on spring yard zone?*
Shigoil That is because it is a bootleg.
@@horridlorries1237 w..ok thanks for telling..
Shigoil In fact, it is actually a bootleg of a bootleg called Somari which started at Green Hill Zone as intended but put you as Somari who is essentially Mario with Sonic’s moves like running fast or spin jumping.
Me too
I used to but I lost it
Watching sonic almost drown is amazing for reflexes
Genesis does what nintendoes
Edit: WOAH GUYS THX! I know it's just 21 likes but I never got that many in my entire life!
Edit2: stop liking. One of my comments got lotsa more
More like 25
We’re gonna get you places, bud. Here’s another!
Okay but the fact they made a working Final Zone is amazing
Still better than sonic 4 physics
Can anyone just appreciate how adorable Sonic and Robotnik(Eggman) was in this?
Around 11 p.m. or so, I recreated the Sonic sprite on the thumbnail using perler beads. It's almost 00:15 a.m. here now.. I seriously need some sleep. Night.
The Sonic sprite looks awesome
That some high quality hack.
It looks so better than Somari and other Sonic bootleg nes game in which you start to play in Spring Yard Zone, even this sounds better, the bootleg music of somari actually can rape my ears everytime i play it, this is a good improvement.
wow sonic pocket adventure is looking good
Yeah, I bought it on Zeebo
Sonic + Mario = somari
no shit, sherlock
I had no idea you could play sonic on an NES
Did you know that this hack breaks rolling? You can control your movement when rolling and keep rolling forward even on a flat surface and when starting off at a slow speed, something that doesn't work in the original bootleg. EDIT: Demonstrated at 0:42. Other than that, it's a major improvement!
Now someone make a Freedom Planet for the Genesis.
Who's crazy enough to attempt...
This is actually quite charming.
this version is very decent and best than Somari
Interesing fact: Marble zone was planned for Sonic 1 gg/ms but was deleded for an unkown reason
That zone was everyone's favourite, why did they remove it?
@@stevendrewett5498 why Sega is cruel ?
*Pain)
I suppose originally the 8bit version was going to be a direct port. I'm glad they didn't as the 8 bit master system version is far superior
marble and spring yard were horrible/boring in the megadrive version, sorry
@@SEGAtendo1989 ok
@@NotSome1 what's with the question marks?
Hah! And they thought the NES didn't have enough process power.
I- This is... amazing! Could you imagine if Nintendo and Sega approved of this in the 90's?
I love how the starlight boss is the unly who changes
Sprite soothing just makes games look like shit.
Daim, just goes to show if you actually give a damn about ripping off another companies property you will make something that could rival the original.
This is an improved version of a hack another guy made of the bootleg Somari.
It's a polishing of a hack of a bootleg.
It's good, but it can't rival the real Sonic.
SEGA would be so proud!
@@claudiaolivera6563 Yeah, or they would be litigious 🏛️💰
RUclips: SOMARI
the actual game he is playing: Sonic Nintendo entertainment system
this entire hack is a pro gamer move
7:08 i like that remake
definitely this is better than somari.
NES: Non Color 80s
Master System: perfect look
SNES: Shader Realistic
Genesis: Perfect Color and Shader
Mania: Gets color metalic Styled
This brings back some strong Somari flashbacks
This is like Sonic the Hedgehog for the Gameboy Color
Advance or S1?🤔
this should have been sonic 1 8-bit for the master system dont you agree
This game looks quite cool. The starlight zone boss looks quite difficult, and the final zone also looks a little harder than the one in the original mega drive version.
This looks good
Imagine this on a Tengen cartridge!
this is awesome
Ok, so its somari, but then was hacked to have sonic, but now hacked again for the music to sound good
You did good ❤ on this video
i never heared of somari, but this looks good
Its Toei Sonic.
Nice Sonic video!
I used to love Sonic then I forgot about it here I am now
Why did you I've go smoothen the pixels.
Nobody likes smoothended pixels
yeah, no one, it washes away the concept of Retro
@@charcoalperson3609 it also looks like someone smeared their ass on fresh ink that hadn't dried yet.
Exactly, it doesn’t look 8-bit at all
#deletessmothenedpixels
I love smooth pixels more so fuck off.
SOMEBODY FINALLY DID IT!
This really proves it Sega does what Nintendon't
And this is actually good
While it's pretty cool to see Sonic redesigned in the NES style, that final boss is hugely flawed. The far-left squisher never moves and it's just the same pattern. robotic always comes from the right side and it goes from the two in the middle to the two that start from the bottom each time.
If they're going to change fifth boss so drastically then they should have changed the fourth boss because the fourth boss in this rom hack is even more pointless than he originally was in the original game.
Great job my boy though the green hill was laggy
This is gonna gonna create a black hole in the gaming world.
What?! Sonic on a Nintendo console? That's impossible!
Play without hd filter now
The Orbinauts in Star Light Zone look like they did a line
when you don't have a master system
I hope this game is in the switch's NES classics
Kid lol
I thought this was an official game I somehow hadn’t come across lol
Somari wants to know your location
What special of the nes version (this jabu hack), the life counter changes face when you get a game over
Wow. If Sonic The Hengehog was on the Nintendo Entertainment system
Still better than Game Gear Sonic 1
Mmmmm donde consigues esta version?esta padre
The pixel rounding makes this game look so weird
Wow the final zone theme is very very noice
Now if only this could work on the NES Classic
I don't feel like counting, but surely that was more than 8 hits on robuttnick, right?
This does not feel like a Sonic game because there are no slope physics and Sonic does not have great acceleration
Well, it's better than Somari
Why does this look...good?
What? The Spindash move was added? But that wasn't even in the original Somari!!!
It was in the original Somari though.
If Sonic was made by Nintendo he couldn't go left
We STILL can't get the emeralds? 😒
Did anyone notice the loading seam at the edge of the screen?
I wonder what will sonic 2 be like
So....This is the origin from Top Leader? If so, cool
Blast Processing on a Nintendo Console?
What The Fu-
Why does the beat hit harder than a drunken step dad
The sad part is:This game is better made compared to the gba edition
Why not re-work the awful level design?
It's the NES.
@@stEv3900 It's a hack of Somari and in Somari the level design is garbage. Your argument is so irrelevant too, Mario has good level design and it's on the NES.
@@CybernikTheHedgehog As long as the level design is recognizable I have no problem with it. Maybe not for you but uh
Why are you comparing Mario to Sonic? Just the popular Super Mario Bros. Overworld was just the background and some clouds. Here, I see more.
@@stEv3900 You said it was on the NES, it is fucking IRRELEVANT.
I played Somari, you didn't, you don't know how the game works nor how it feels like playing that bootleg and the level design is garbage compared to officially licensed Sonic games. I would atleast expect the hacker that turned Somari into Sonic would bring back the level design that was from the original Sonic The Hedgehog on Genesis.
@@CybernikTheHedgehog I read that the first time.
What prior knowledge are you assuming?
Also, weren't you surprised? You didn't get what you expected, but at least we can enjoy the hack like it is now. Everybody says this, but life can sometimes be unpredictable. I respect your opinion and you respect mine.
