Rab carn i think the foil intensifies the steam, and penetrates the meat more. i have a cookbook of foil cooking, and that's what they say.

Here are my 2 cents: bought a second-hand steamer to cook food for a baby. No instructions came with it. It looks easy enough but I decided to make sure I am doing everything right. So I googled the manual for this thing. This video popped up. OMG, WTF? What kind of retards is this commercial targeting? I nearly vomited watching this crap. If I did not need a steamer to cook for a new born, just watching THIS would put me off from buying ANY steamer at all. So fake... These are the worst actors ever.
