    Amazing! I've been separating sound elements in my video editing in a very very basic way to achieve the clarity Robert showed here, but I could never could do it to any level of satisfaction. Robert showed me how to engineer it in a proper DAWS. I'm blown away! Thank you so much, Robert!! You are godsend!

    I can see why Bongonzo was so excited over this. Everything sounded so clean. Some of that punch is low in the kick, but still good. The rest is spot on. Awesome work. Subscribed.

    excellent vid... as a Cakewalk user I always find more to love about it and seeing a mix in progress as small moves are made across the context of the mix and hearing that in real time as it develops was well presented...dig it

    Great vid Robert. So much here I wasn't doing. Heading back to my current song now to start again LOL. I was always setting the faders and then panning followed by effects. I never knew about checking in mono or mixing in mono. I think using the pro channel EQ in track view to make immediate comparisons is so simple but brilliant. Thanks for sharing. I must ask you about stereo and mono tracks next time we are talking. There's a couple of things I'm not getting my head around.

      Diego Gutierrez Generally speaking you need to leave at least three dB of headroom for mastering. When it comes to recording I try not to record anything over -12 dB.

      I'm looking for a plugin for Cakewalk that will create the rhythmic "scratch" effect produced by club DJs when they move a record in short, rapid back and forth motions on the turntable. Or, in lieu of a plugin, maybe a tutorial on how to create the effect in Cakewalk.

    Yeah, I think Bongonzos beat has a way more satisfying and fulfilling punch to the kick. Your mix is cleaner but I would gladly sacrifice cleanliness for a harder kick any day. Just my preference.

      @@Homestudiosimplifed awesome stuff watched it through, got some very good tips will watch again in detail with some bits nice to learn 😁. NB: I export my mix (pre-master) 24bit 44.1 wav then reopen in a new mastering project. You can then fine tune with EQ and multiband on the track, you can also fine tune dynamic range with automation i.e. maybe bring verse chorus or middle 8 up or down half a dB more or less. I find it easier to have a separate project for Mastering so then I use ozone 9 EQ, stereo and Mastering on the master bus, you can use Cakewalk EQ, the multiband and no6 limiter which is free is excellent. Ozone as a 14lu average on it and Rms true peaks etc for platforms like Spotify etc you might want to look at but I'm not professional

I have 16 track recorded guitar singing & bass originals I’m in the finalizing phases. These need to be heard as they are inspiring. Would you consider copy right the Songs ? Is it even necessary??

    On second thought maybe we could collaborate music together because I play guitar bass and even bongo drums. I Relate with the real musician type man but I also have a AKAI Midi controller that I’m starting To get down yet My real stuff is the best. What is your favorite instrument?

  • @diegovs.theworld8865

    When should you change a track from stereo to mono? That got me confused

    • @Homestudiosimplifed
      @Homestudiosimplifed  4 года назад +4

      Diego Gutierrez if it is a Mono instrument to begin with such as a Vocal, Guitar, etc. then you could safely assume that it’s actually a Mono recording.
      However, like I demonstrated in the video, if it’s got different waveform values in both channels it may very well have been recorded using two mics and is therefore a true Stereo track. Most of the time keyboard, piano, and choirs are recorded in stereo. Hope that helps.
