I beg to differ on the fact that Jains don’t take part in Jiv daya. The maximum no of Gaushaala in India (cow sanctuary) are built and managed by Jains. Even today many people on Bakri Id pay money to set thousands of goats free from slaughter houses. Jains have strived to close many slaughterhouses in Gujarat. Many Jain tirth places there is strictly non-violence followed and many meat shops are closed. I appreciate your efforts too in building a sanctuary…

I think love and compassion cannot be just empty words, they need to be expressed in 'real actions' ! Speaking as if he has got all this knowledge directly from tirthankar.If actually most of tirthankar's teachings are lost then where does he get all the knowledge from?It may be possible that tirthankar's many teachings are lost today but whatever is present in aagams is still enough to motivate us to be on right path. How can he say that aagams hold just 10% of truth.I don't know why he has so much of obsession with the word jiv daya.Jains are still doing something toward jivdaya in form of animal hospitals,gaushalas n many more.The one who can't understand what is kayotsarga n self meditation can only come up with such ideas.Saying jain monks have sad faces is nonsense,being gambhira (serious) is not same as sad. Jain monks try to be in sam bhav(balanced position of feelings ) where one is neither much happy nor much sad but is busy meditating in oneself.
These were exactly my thoughts listening to him, lost in his rosy world where he feels mohomad was somehow better? the person who in his holy book directly calls for excecution of people who don't belive in him, he is better? Following his call of violence so many people today do such horendous acts but he was better? this was beyond me, I feel his sense of history is somehow not uptodate yet. Some do swa-Kalyan some do par-kalyan the other do both. Hi i would like and love to knw more about every tirthankara chinh, why those specific are assigned to each. I never found an answer to that untill here. I would also like to question that trithankar and arihanta are same but sidha are one who is different ( d liberated soul)

It is hard to find things on the Internet when they aren't spelled correctly, lol! :D (I actually made the same mistake myself, so I am not judging you.) However, after intense searching, I managed to find the correct spelling of what he was referring to when I looked up the origin of Jainism. Buried deep in my references, they referred to the Śramaṇa (Śramaṇic) tradition, which is what he was talking about in this video. Apparently, both Buddhism and Jainism were influenced by this tradition. My question is this....if Śramaṇa no longer exists in full, how can someone claim to know what they taught in that tradition, or claim to be a follower of that tradition? There is no way to know what the teachings actually were, or whether they were any more True than the religions of today. If the closest one can get is Jainism, then no one can claim to be able to know what they taught before that.
I found your facts/podcast misleading. Some facts for everyone: 1. There is a Jain hospital in new delhi, by the name of 'Lal Mandir' in chandni chowk, specially for birds. There are many other in India 2. Jain Monks' faces are not sad. It's totally a perspective. Please visit Aacharya Vidhya Sagar Ji or Adish Muni Ji, you will have a different opinion 3. With all due respect for everyone, Comparing any other religion and saying it is better does not add up. At a time you are cleaning other people shoes and other the other hand you are killing innocent birds and animals to satisfy you taste buds. It is true we do not have people to clean our shoes, however, it is a wrong and misleading statement that we hire, employee people for cleaning shoes

i respect your opinion but you are a bit misinformed about jains, about 12000 goshala out of 16000 goshala in india are runned by jains and many many of them are opened by jain aacharyas mostly by aacharya shri vidyasagar ji maharaj , there are many charitable hospitals and schools runned by jains and jain are one of the largest charity doners in india . I hope this clears your misconception.
