He got emotional because they both really loved each other, but they both thought the other hated them (because of the lack of contact).

Glad Deuce lives on strongly. You can/could always feel the hate/passion with him, something HU sorely lack these days. Fair play, they went mainstream and 've done very well, and while I can't comment on the professional issues that resulted in Deuce's separation from HU, the soul died when he left, and sold out to mainstream. Can I blame HU? No. But do I still wish it was as it was pre American Tragedy? Of course. I fell in love with the tone of Swan Songs and Desperate Measures.
