I didn’t start having acne until I turned 40. I’m 41 now and I just knew it was internal. I felt led to start googling “acne and my gut”. Intuition I guess. Long story short, I found out I have leaky gut. Once I took care of that and healed from within through plant based eating and detoxing, my skin has been back to clear and healthy like it was my whole life. Bottom line, everything on our skin starts internally first. Check there to get to the root.
Love how you keep it so real! I’ve struggled with cystic acne for forever and it was ALWAYS annoying when people are like drink water 🙄 thanks for this video! Keep BEING GREAT 🦋
najah7791 yeah same. I don’t know how to deal. I’m not so self-conscious that I’m caking my face up with makeup but it’s still enough where I’m barely showing my face lol. Like no pics for me. I just need to get over it and work on it
@@Chloeeezyyy Go to your GP and ask him to put you on a Vitamin A drip. It's 30 min of your life, once a month! It cures ALL acne and removes dark marks too! Trust me on this!!! Vitamin A supplements don't work as well because the concentration is different. Get your GP/Dermatologist to put you on a drip & you will see a difference in the first week!
Hi, you can try using a white cotton washcloth to wipe your face with because the color in the washcloth might be irritating to the skin. Just a suggestion I thought I should share. GOD BLESS.
Microfiber breast pads are great replacements for cotton pads. Machine or hand washable. Gentle. Inexpensive. Long lasting and better for the environment 👍🏽
Girlll, we love you no matter what. No. Matter. What! Yes, I eliminated dairy as well. When I cut dairy and red meat my skin cleared right up, along with a skincare regimen. Instead of pooping my skin was releasing the toxins.
An oil cleansing balm or cleansing oil is way faster & more effective at removing dirt, oil & makeup. Palmers have a really affordable one in target for like $7 and its really good
As a very sensitive skinned person and that water is the truth. I use a reusable makeup removal pad.I only wear lipstick up that is very pigmented lipstick. I use korean/Japanese sheet mask twice a month. I’m still trying to find a serum that I can actually use. I don’t suffer from acne but my face just break out in little bumps if I do too much to my face so I got like. Two or three step routine. I also need to find sunscreen that I can use. It’s such a hassle. But I do use cerave facial lotion. Let me try the cleanser ! Thanks
I feel your pain. I didn't have acne as a teen but I hit 38 and all hell broke loose. I went to a dermatologist and she got me together but I don't ever think I've been more self conscious before in life than when my skin was rebelling!
Your skin has come such a long way. I’m so so happy for you. I’ve suffered from acne for years and I know what it can do to your confidence, no one understands. You’re so brave for coming on here bare skin while on the road to clear skin. We appreciate you. I also used curology along with Paulas Choice 2% Bha exfoliant and it did wonders for my skin,... okay I’m done lol 😘
Day_bore_uh I don’t know if my skin is just super sensitive but the first time I used tea tree, it had a slight burn/tingle and when I woke up the next day I had a HORRIBLE break out. I used it for two more days and it felt like more kept popping up. I heard it’s great to calm irritation but it messed me up.
I had moderate-to-severe (depending on time of the month) hormonal cystic acne similar to yours. I actually used a lot of the same products as you do in this video, and still do! BUT what changed to game for me entirely: Spironolactone prescribed by my dermatologist about 2.5 years ago. When I tell you my skin has never been this clear in my life. I had acne since 13, and now it just stays 98% clear. Maybe one or two small ones around my cycle, but that’s it. And no more excessive oiliness! For a lot of us past our teens, it really is an internal hormone issue and medications and/or diet can make all the difference despite whatever topical products you use. I can’t recommend exploring that option enough.
My advice to who is suffering from acne, take vitamin A supplement and DIM. Women, vitamin A can be toxic if taken for long periods. Vitamin A is the main ingredient in Accutane - Accutane is known to clear acne! DIM will put your hormones back in line. I suffered from acne for 14 years, and this has helped. If you can, see a dermatologist and get Retin A. Retin A is also just like Accutane, except it’s topical. Combining Vitamin A and Retin A are powerful together and you will receive the same results, just not as harsh as Accutane. For a cleanser, use Dr. Bronners. For a moisturizer, use rose hip oil or something fragrance free and gentle, like Cerave. Following this will save your life.
So I have about 10 mini makeup erasers from Sephora from point perks. I’m not sure if the name brand sells them individually, HOWEVER I was using the knock off circular pads from amazon that worked just the same. I have a special hamper/basket in my bathroom just for face towels and reusable face pads. Edit. *makeup eraser sells them!!!*
Benzoyl Peroxide is very effective at treating cystic acne. It can be drying so instead of leaving it on all day or overnight you can use it like a mask by applying for 15 minutes or so. Also, professional chemical peels 🙌🏽
Because of this video I gave Curology a chance. I’ve seen it a million times floating around social media, but it wasn’t until after I watched your video I took a dive. Glad I did! Thank you for sharing this video.
I’ve tried literally tried everything. The only thing that has helped me so far is keeping my routine minimal. Rubbing alcohol/ water/Tamanu Oil cleared my cystic acne. I still get a few bumps here and there but overall it works for me. I just just added Ambi Fade cream to my regiment. I hope it works.
So glad you talked about using treatments at night. I started using a treatment twice a day and my face was not responding well to it. It actually started to hurt 😅. I took the treatment down to once a day, at night, and a calming cleanser with a toner and moisturizer in the morning. My skin has improved so much!
The cystic hormonal acne struggle is so real in your early 30s. I have been struggling with it for about a year and it's no fun. I've actually tried curology. I can't speak to how well the night time Serum is working I'm still using it but advice that the dermatologist gave before I received my shipment was priceless! She told me also to quit using all of the active ingredients. I was using all of them, salicylic acid, aha, retinol, vitamin C. It was too much! My skin was so dried out and irritated! So now I'm on that CeraVe tip a my skin is a lot more balanced and in control. I still have bouts of hormonal breakout around that time of the month. But I think it's clearing up due to my diet, cutting out gluten, soy and other foods that irritate my skin.
I'm 30 and I've struggled with my skin since puberty. Over the last few years I've been dealing with terrible post inflammation hyperpigmentation from hormonal acne. It was terrible. But I've started following some estheticians and skincare enthusiasts and my skin had changed so much. I still get bumps here and there but I know how to treat it and prevent hyperpigmentation with certain ingredients and techniques. I even get compliments on my skin now which I've never gotten. So happy for you.
Ise a cleansing balm and microfiber cloth. Microfiber cloths and water alone will remove makeup but the friction isnt great so using a cleansing balm to melt it down first
I had cystic acne as well since i was 13 years old. I tried it all!!! I took doxycycline and my body developed immunity to it. A few years ago I tried accutane and it did work but the breakouts came back after 6 months. Not as aggressive but still bad. I started taking vitamin A and Iron pills daily from spring valley and I rarely get acne breakouts anymore. Try it out! Also I use the biore baking soda face wash, thamers witch hazel and neutrogena pink grapefruit moisturizer works wonders on my skin. And aveeno sunscreen.
I use Acure's cream cleanser in the pink bottle to first remove my makeup then rinse my face. Its gentle and actually works. Yall should try it. You can find it at Whole foods/Sprouts for about 10 bucks; or at Marshalls/TJMaxx for about 6 bucks.

I have never gotten a lot of acne. However butter always causes an issue for me as well. I also notice that when I eat a lot of tomatoes, strawberries, or pineapples same issue. If, you haven't ever noticed watch the acid fruits as well.

I really like the hairline suggestion I notice that too! I use the cerave sa one. Do you have any comments/concerns on that one. I’ve been toning with the humphreys witch hazel with is very calming and alcohol free
i've been experiencing a bad cytic acne breakout since nov-dec 2019 and mine is hormonal and stress related. i'm still doing my research & going to the doctor to figure it out, but going to a dermatologist was better than trying to self-treat by myself with salicylic acid like you mentioned. i got prescribed a dapsone & a treninoin and my skin after about 6-8 months improved SO much! please y'all, if you have health insurance that covers dermatology please go see someone!
I have texture issues that I HATE! It like just fine bumps under the skin. Ugh they are just so irritating to look at. Everyone sees perfect skin because I don’t get breakouts. Man oh man but I can see them lol
I have PCOS, which is a hormonal imbalance and I don’t have cystic acne but I do get those little tiny blackhead from time to time and I use a facial steamer to clean my pores then I use tea tree oil soap then witch hazel to tone
Can I suggest makeup halo pads..amazon. Also I have lash extension and I use or precleansing oil I just don’t use it on my eyes. I use a makeup halo. Also niacinamide has done wonders for me no cystic acne whatsoever any longer. If I feel one trying to come, I spot treat and gone. Quality hyalauronic acid too my hydration up 10 notches, my skin was dehydrated while oily. Hope this helps
Love this video. You always look perfect (with and without makeup) but it’s really refreshing to see an influencer bare it all and keep it 💯 Have you ever tried spot treating the larger cystic acne with Differin? That helped me and still helps me keep it under control. Your skin looks bright and beautiful! And definitely agree less is more. Love your style and am here for all your videos 🙌🏽
Thank you for sharing I have hyperpigmenation and I'm currently working on it. I thought I was done with acne I'm 37 like I'm done🙄. I started using dermalogica. Girlll diet is so important with skin omg yess!! I had to cut dairy and sugars. You and I are just alike with thatttt.
I feel it’s best to wait for a year to really see if it works. I find that sometimes when you start using something it will work for a few months but it won’t last past a year. I feel it’s best to see if it works beyond that point and then you can say it actually works
Idk if you mentioned seeing a dermatologist but ... Malassezia folliculitis. That's what I was diagnosed with and it looks similar to what you're dealing with. The bumps and location look almost exactly the same. I tried so many different products and regimens but like most skin issues it comes from within.. I needed medication and a complete diet change it's the worst feeling dealing with acne like this 😩
I cant use the trail-they're not available in my state yet 😫😫😫. I've had issues with my skin since I've started college. I have terrible hyperpigmentation around my mouth and in the same area as yours. It's so hard finding products to clear it up or makeup that covers it well. Right now, I'm using KatVonD's vegan line. I'm trying to stick more to vegan line makeup products (if you have any suggested Black Owned). I'm also doing my best to cut out dairy-at home I eat violife or follow your heart vegan cheese at home or make my own. It's when I'm out that's the hard part (I love pasta!)
Check out @organic_olivia . She had the same type of acne and goes deep about the gut health . Lol was literally about to hit send and you just started talking about gut health in the video . ✨✨ still check her ig out Def gonna look up some of the products mentioned . I need some new skin products for winter time
Great video! Subbed:) I LOVE Ren products. Love their daytime moisturizer, their calming serum, their beauty shot and their radiance perfecting serum. Everything I’ve tried from them is wonderful for my sensitive skin and they actually work.
Oof...so many steps. Your skin looks so good; great job. I don't have cystic acne but I love seeing good products. I would totally do this, but the way my lazy is set up...lol
NKIA you had everything going against you, the stress. Work your eating and not resting. That was real ugly and it did look extremely painful. WOW. Glad you were very patience to reach out. Glad your outer beauty reflects your inner. Thxs for sharing.
Did your acne return? If not how long has it been since you’ve been off. It saved my life too but I’ve been getting tiny flesh colored under the skin bumps. Idk what they are.
Too much product on the face in combination with diet I believe is the problem with those breakouts. One day write down all the ingredients of everything you put on your face in a day. From the make up products to the cleansers, moisturizer, I mean every last ingredient. Don't leave out any products. See what you get. Then attempt to actually look each ingredient up and see what it does. That would be an AWSOME you tube vid. Take a look at all stuff and manipulation of the face from the rubbing blending buffering spraying beating moisturizing cleansing toning masking unmasking. Too much.
I had cystic acne really bad! I had to let that dairy go! Dairy was the culprit for me. I used Proactiv and I have been acne free for 18 years.
feecollins same here, leaving dairy alone TOTALLY‼️ And of course tea tree oil has amazing benefits for cystic acne.
I think I'm going to have to let go of sugar.
msebony v me too.
Just FYI, cystic acne is a sign of hormonal imbalance. Tackle whats happening on the inside as well. topical products will help to an extent.
Absolutely. Eating right and reducing stress are essential for hormonal acne too.
Your skin looks great. It's pronounced micellar water, not micellular water

Emely Fortiz facts smh I drink water all day like sis dont tell me “ you don’t drink enough water “ 🙄
I so needed this! My skin has been haywire for the past four months. Ive never had skin problems until now as I’ve turned 26. Back to watch the video
Same here and I'm 28. It makes me so self conscious :(

There’s some reusable cotton pads that you can use multiple times and never throw away on eBay

What helps me with my cystic pimple is 100% tea tree oil and it helps with blemishes.

There are reusable/washable cloth/cotton rounds. Use them then wash them. Less waste and inexpensive in the long run.

Using an oil and then micellar water definitely does the trick. It will keep down some of the friction on the continuous skin wiping.

What ingredients and techniques I started doing tea tree oil
Johnson & Johnson sensitive baby wipes or any facial wipe , you can use them with the Micellar Cleansing Water.
Please dont use wipes on your skin long term they're honestly a terrible idea for aging and skin elasticity plus trash for the environment
Still beautiful either way !!! So good your products are working
Ise a cleansing balm and microfiber cloth. Microfiber cloths and water alone will remove makeup but the friction isnt great so using a cleansing balm to melt it down first
I reallly liked this. I would always feel ashamed for not using enough products, but I realize I don’t even need them.
Those before and after pics spoke volumes, sis! Talk about a 360! Congrats, I'm so happy for you! Your skin looks good!
heyy u can find reusable cotton pads on etsy!!! don't know if u already made the change
They sell reusable cotton rounds I believe you can wash them . If you don’t want to keep buying them .
Vachele Wilson makeup halo!

LOVE YOUR MAKEUP...natural. Can you do a makeup tutorial on that look? This is valuable info, your skin has improved so much. Amazing skin. Thank you
Yesss skin! You better glow!!!✨✨✨
Use the makeup remover with a microfiber cloth. Also Clinique products are good for your skin. They’re hypoallergenic and contain no perfumes
washable breastfeeding pads are EXCELLENT to take make up off and then throw in the wash
I love your channel and your aura is so calming
1st thank you RUclips for recommending your loft tour video to me tonight. This is the 3rd video I'm watching and I subbed right now. I have cistic acne I'm the same palaces. What lip combo were you wearing?💕🙌🏾💕
I really like the hairline suggestion I notice that too! I use the cerave sa one. Do you have any comments/concerns on that one. I’ve been toning with the humphreys witch hazel with is very calming and alcohol free
i've been experiencing a bad cytic acne breakout since nov-dec 2019 and mine is hormonal and stress related. i'm still doing my research & going to the doctor to figure it out, but going to a dermatologist was better than trying to self-treat by myself with salicylic acid like you mentioned. i got prescribed a dapsone & a treninoin and my skin after about 6-8 months improved SO much! please y'all, if you have health insurance that covers dermatology please go see someone!
you can also use a cleansing balm/oil cleanser to remove makeup
This is the first time I saw someone mention cleaning the hair line. I always wondered how a girl with acne kept her edges on fleek lol
Acne prone skin. Now I know what to do
I have texture issues that I HATE! It like just fine bumps under the skin. Ugh they are just so irritating to look at. Everyone sees perfect skin because I don’t get breakouts. Man oh man but I can see them lol
Your skin looks amazing!! 😍
Ur skin looks amazing!! Def helping me to keep hope alive for my skin! 🙌🏽
The information is rather fascinating.
What’s the active ingredients in your curology product?
Suggestion hado labo hyalauronic acid, inkey list is fine but not as good in my opinion too thick for full penetration of your curology
Love this video. You always look perfect (with and without makeup) but it’s really refreshing to see an influencer bare it all and keep it 💯 Have you ever tried spot treating the larger cystic acne with Differin? Thank you for sharing I have hyperpigmenation and I'm currently working on it. I thought I was done with acne I'm 37 like I'm done🙄. I started using dermalogica. Girlll diet is so important with skin omg yess!! I had to cut dairy and sugars. You and I are just alike with thatttt.
You should try the Kiehl’s Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask!!! It’s to gentle and gives the perfect glow! ❤️
when u said ur skin goes to milly-rocking i subscribed so fast
Ugh I hated the drink water advice too. Its deeper than that. Glad you found your regimen
Meanwhile Ive been torturing myself with all these acids and treatments. Sugar and dairy are my vices! Great info! What are your active ingredients?
Sis saying micellular is mad cute and funny
I feel it’s best to wait for a year to really see if it works. I find that sometimes when you start using something it will work for a few months but it won’t last past a year. I feel it’s best to see if it works beyond that point and then you can say it actually works
Very helpful information sis thanks 😉
Bare minerals has make up wipes that are so BOMB. And you get 46 in there they are alcohol free.
CeraVe has a micellar water. It’s gentle and hydrating.
Idk if you mentioned seeing a dermatologist but ... Malassezia folliculitis. That's what I was diagnosed with and it looks similar to what you're dealing with. The bumps and location look almost exactly the same. I tried so many different products and regimens but like most skin issues it comes from within..
I needed medication and a complete diet change it's the worst feeling dealing with acne like this 😩
Are you still using curology. I started about 2 weeks ago. Curious know about you progress.
Cerave 🙏🏼💕
ily
✨✨ still check her ig out
Def gonna look up some of the products mentioned . I need some new skin products for winter time
I remember yrs ago when u put me on to the Orgins Checks and balance cleanser
Great video! Subbed:) I LOVE Ren products. Love their daytime moisturizer, their calming serum, their beauty shot and their radiance perfecting serum. Everything I’ve tried from them is wonderful for my sensitive skin and they actually work.
But let’s also talk about the lipstick
Has anyone ever told you you look like Tandy Newton
She does look like Thandie.
I just received the elemis rose facial oil I have acne and oily skin I’d like to use but I’m afraid to use it. I don’t want my skin breaks out 😩
Oof...so many steps. Your skin looks so good; great job. I don't have cystic acne but I love seeing good products. I would totally do this, but the way my lazy is set up...lol
Beautiful ❤
NKIA you had everything going against you, the stress. Work your eating and not resting. That was real ugly and it did look extremely painful. WOW. Glad you were very patience to reach out. Glad your outer beauty reflects your inner. Thxs for sharing.
This is how my skin be acting 🥴😭 your skin looks so good girl !!
Have you tried Accutane? It’s a prescription medication. It was a life changer for me!
Did your acne return? If not how long has it been since you’ve been off. It saved my life too but I’ve been getting tiny flesh colored under the skin bumps. Idk what they are.
Very simple she said 😂😂
I learned not to use alcohol as a toner, here. Lol
I had a reaction with the hydrating cleanser :/
Too much product on the face in combination with diet I believe is the problem with those breakouts. One day write down all the ingredients of everything you put on your face in a day. From the make up products to the cleansers, moisturizer, I mean every last ingredient. Don't leave out any products. See what you get. Then attempt to actually look each ingredient up and see what it does. That would be an AWSOME you tube vid. Take a look at all stuff and manipulation of the face from the rubbing blending buffering spraying beating moisturizing cleansing toning masking unmasking. Too much.
