I remember when I heard this song live. It was right before Sam Smith started his show, everyone was busy talking and looking for their chairs. Lewis started singing and most people were still minding their own business, but then he got to the chorus... everyone stopped doing what they were doing and started cheering for him after that everyone else was quieter. It was no longer a Sam Smith concert, it was Lewis concert too and it was worth it.

+Sinethemba Salaze - Why? It's not the artist's fault they are admired... If anything, you should be grateful he is getting the recognition he deserves.
Okay yeah that's a good point, but most of the raw artists that I liked seem lose themselves/their music once they are famous. Instead of making music that they used to/want to make by taking their time, they end up worrying about their image, RADIO HIT or if "MTV" will play their videos. So which is why sometimes we end up hearing the same sound and everyone doing DAB.
I'm trying to come across as negative but that's just how I see things.

I'm rather slow to the scene of this man's amazing talent. RUclips slipped a James Bay/Lewis Capaldi mix into my mix and the song broke my heart and I had to listen to it over and over because at the time, I was suicidal. I felt like I was meant to hear that song that day and discover him. I kept finding more of his music and man...the impact was amazing! It was several weeks before I could get past that to find this. I've since made his own play list because sometimes, I still require reminders, but his is one that had to go on my favorites playlist. His voice is powerful, interestingly raspy at times, amazing always, and the lyrics always resonate with me. He's quite a bit younger than I, so I'm not surprised it took me so long to find him, but I'm so glad I did! What impressive talent!

I just want to say thank you for this song. I lost my mother in August of 2017, and i found this song during the first week. It hurts to my core to listen to it now, but it's because of just how extremely powerful this song is. And just how much i relate to it. She was my best friend in the world. I spent 33 years with her. We talked about everything. Growing up she was all I had, and I was all she had. We struggled more than most, spent winters with no heat, summers sleeping on wet towels to keep cool. I miss her more than words can ever explain. Thank you so much for writing this song. It is beyond beautiful. I held her hand for 18 minutes until she took her last breath, and everytime i hear this, i remember the pain of that day. Thats the beauty of a great song, it's ability to touch someone's soul.
