Amelia don’t be so hard on yourself. You are a consumer not necessarily a collector. You enjoy using your bags. I have bags that never get used. I love the Mark Jacob’s LV era bags and they make me so happy but they don’t get used. I think you should wear your Gucci trainers with your yellow Dior saddle bag with your jeans and white tee and it will look great. Every bag is a great one and I’m sure in 2024 you will use them more.

Quick piece of advise with the yellow Gucci shoes. Wear them with denim jeans or navy pants. That yellow suede acts like a great “neutral” with classic jeans and a pretty sweater. ❤

(Paraphrased) such good advice!! I have bought less expensive purses hoping they will “make do” when I know for certain what I want but try to cheap out. It never really satisfies me. Good advice!!
It never works for me either
I decided to do my own Walk of Shoes and Bags Shame. I was quite proud to realise there were only three bags I haven’t worn yet and two of those are relatively new. But shoes 🤦🏻♀️ 8 pairs. That’s the problem with buying heels for all these glamorous nights out that never happen because I keep forgetting I’m not a glamorous night out kinda person 😂

I agree on this. I wear my stuff to the mall and dates w/hubby all the time because I don't really have an active social life but I don't want my fancy stuff to just sit there and I love my sparkly fancy stuff :)

I'm dying at all those lovelies that you've never used. Let me wear your Gucci sneakers, lol! In the end, just because you have so many items, but there are only so many days in a year, there will always be some that get little to no wear. Part of the game. Last bag with the enamel handle is gorgeous!

The never used hit me hard!
Sometimes we buy things because they are cute and fun, not because they are a good choice for your style. And it’s absolutely normal. Now before I buy something new, I ask myself: “Am I buying it because I will use it on daily basis or because it is just my new toy?” 😅 It prevents me from buying unnecessary stuff, from future regrets and selling it with a huge discount later.
I think very little of this is unworkable it just takes planning and curating to get an outfit ready ahead of time and not throw things together or you will get orphans...and AR tends to have multiple things she loves, so they are competing for attention and the louder items won't work with this. JIMO

@@ameliarosescloset This is very common if you didn't grow up being able to have things you wanted or even needed. I get this a lot and have to really consciously work at asking myself why I'm buying.
If I find myself justifying a purchase that I only emotionally want, but find myself getting excited about I put it off and reconsider. I find some other way of rewarding myself.
Shopping and the process of 'window shopping' online, mulling over items I desire and have in a wishlist has become a displacement activity for things I should be doing but got out of the habit of during lockdown, and from sustained illness.
I have to keep asking myself, when will I wear this and how often? Do I already have something similar? The answer is usually what I don't want! It's a dopamine high and the excitement is what we are chasing.
That said, I have just ordered a lot of things some of which are red, which will really lift my wardrobe for next winter. I can be too sensible and end up with multiple pairs of navy blue pants...etc.Or too adventurous which leads to shopping cul de sacs.
I've ordered a Bella Freud sweater with a white stripe down the arms, and realise it's similar to a jacket I have. That jacket was worn to death it looks so good on me it was the right colour, dramatic.But it had a bad event and is now out of circulation.
Some of these items I will probably just have to return! But I need to see how they will work and feel the quality for myself. I have ordered a camouflage jacked which is not cropped and therefore not as fashionable but it looks great with red. And I have a rarely worn red skirt it will really lift that. It will also look great with white or black. I will put it with either of 2 black leather skirts.
Sometimes you just have to get things and play around with them and know when to ignore trends for your body type. But that is a bit like work too so we avoid that because we want the dopamine it. It's always a discipline but if you shop for the emotional high then it has to be controlled or you can end up feeling a bit shipwrecked so it's about self acceptance and closing that gap. JIMO
Bright pink could be very nice styled with demin. I think if you buy a demin shirt you could really rock the hot pink 💅🦩✨. I bought a Valentino rockstud spike bag small in hot pink and it inspire me to use demin again.

Don’t feel bad about not having used them. The whole world has been in chaos and we are barely getting back into the groove of things. At the start of this yr i had 22 i hadn’t used that were purchased during lockdown. Now I’m at 15. I tell myself maybe I should sell but then I remember our state was very strict during lockdowns so for me 2023 is the 1st normal yr back. Hoping next yr I’ll use the remainder 15.

i'd honestly be kinda afraid to wear the christmas jumper bag. i'd be afraid of getting it dirty. it is pretty cool.
with my neon yellow baguette, I wear it a lot with jeans and a white t-shirt. but yeah i do understand why you bought the yellow saddle.
I’d be scared the bag would catch on something and snag. Also it’s probably difficult to figure what to wear with it too

@@ameliarosescloset Amelia Rose it's a 'hero' bag. This means it's the centre of attention. So you have to consciously plan an outfit to wear it, rather than expect the bag to be an add-on to your regular combos (which is why you feel it's difficult).
In an busy daily life you haven't had time or the mental space to do this. Perfectly understandable.
I've made suggestions re jump suits, or you could just go top to toe denim, but the idea is to keep your outfit close to monochrome in a compatible or contrast colour, just the same or close to it all the way through. That way your bag will shine and it's actually quite easy dressing if you get your combinations right. All over denim is a great suggestion which others have made.
Awww a lot of folks have things we don’t use. My thought with the bright yellow and orange goes with navy. A fab navy outfit would look great with those I think. I absolutely cracked up laughing when you said I’ll just ignore the last one 😂. Thanks for sharing 😊.

The poor Christmas jumper bag again 😂! With the black one, your choice of bags was smaller so it was easier to pull your finger out and get that one sorted. Now there’s much more choice it’s just easier to pick something else over it. With shoes it seems that you’ll always reach for the first version you loved so I’d sell the yellow fringed loafers and Chanel heels.

Bless ya 😂 I’m going through a minimalist phase on my clothing and it’s broken my heart a few times getting rid of things I have never used. But what I noticed was I didn’t love those items enough to wear them so would never pick them up. The guilt I feel but I’m happier with the items I do use all the time now. I think the stuff I got rid of were mainly impulse buys
