    definitely needed this video before I walked into trying to figure out why my stuff wont line up since it sounds like I'll deal with some of the same. Also swapping from a BMR Crossmember to the Hooker because it just feels like it's mandatory for a street car with out the back exhaust. Going out today to see how my swap goes, mine's a T56/9" with an adjustable torque arm and I actually had hell getting the clamshell ta mount to fit on the BMR so I'm hoping somehow this ends up being easier lol

    The black heart Holly unit is what I used, worked good did not quite fit with the trans mount as well, but was not forced to drill new holes. I used UMI LS engine swap mounts. One thing additional, When I installed the mounting brackets in the frame, I bolted them in tight, then drilled a hole through the frame and slightly into the flat brackets, then I welded through those holes tying the frame into those brackets, so if i ever have to pull the trans again, they stay. Good luck, getting there,

    Great video. Very informative. Ingenuity is always needed when putting newer parts into old cars. Looks good. Looks like those exhaust pipes should be able to tuck up under the floor really nice. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.

    Did you ask the exhaust shop to weld the intermediate pipes directly to the headers and cat back? If not I would bring that car to them with your new pipes and tell them to fix it. That’s amateur hour stuff.

    • @ForsakenSteel
      @ForsakenSteel  2 года назад +1

      No I did not. I was definitely not pleased with what they did. I'm going to talk to them about it. Honestly I don't want them to fix it after seeing what they did.

    Looks like it's guna work out, thing's never bolt straight into, unless you have everything else from the same provider and the whole kit, extra fittings, but looks like you got it whipped, all the best to you and your loved ones

    I think it says you need the hooker black heart motor mounts for the blackhearr trans crossmember to lineup properly

      @ForsakenSteel  Год назад +1

      You're right it does. Currently I'm trying to bolt it up to my Nissan 6 speed transmission I'm putting in the car. Clearly I'm not one for the rules. 😂 Thanks for watching I really appreciate it.

    It says on the website when you go to order those that you have to use the Holley LS swap motor mounts in order for the trans mount to work like it's supposed to.

    • @ForsakenSteel
      @ForsakenSteel  2 года назад

      I definitely wish I had done more research. Also after receiving the crossmember and seeing how well it was built I regret not getting their kit from the beginning.

    • @pjstartv6798
      @pjstartv6798 2 года назад

      @@ForsakenSteel I've been leaning towards that motor/trans mount kit for my build. I was also considering the Holley Terminator Max wiring kit for the stock intake but the Fitech standalone kit is a few hundred dollars cheaper for the standalone engine/trans wiring kit. However, if they actually did pinout the ECM connector wrong on yours that seems like a red flag to me.

    • @ForsakenSteel
      @ForsakenSteel  2 года назад

      @@pjstartv6798 I have another video about the harness coming out tomorrow but sneek peek. The harness they sent me was all pinned out the same however the wire color on either harness is different from the pin out they sent me. This will be the last FiTech unit I buy. I have spent countless hours with them on the phone with no real answers.

    • @pjstartv6798
      @pjstartv6798 2 года назад

      @@ForsakenSteel Good to know. The Holley Terminator Max standalone engine/trans wiring is $1600 compared to just over $1100 for the Fitech but I feel like the extra $500 is probably worth it just for the piece of mind because you know Holley is quality products and support is going to be on top of things if anything were to happen.
