Thanks. The notation displayed was from Logic Pro. The Konnokkol syllables were my best guess based upon Trichy Sankaran's highly recommended book, The Art of Konnokkol.
Do the syllables change when there's 4 beats to the bar? I've seen something similar but the notes I'm seeing here don't match the syllables I know of.
What syllables are the first fast ones? Really ta ka di na ta ka? Because it sounds different but I could be wrong, so I'd really love to know :D but thank you for the video!!
The second half is a 'rhythmic composition' by Vidwan Manjunath. The first half has both performers recite pre-conceived rhythmic phrases. This part is a bit less pre-conceived, but still not improvised in the usual sense.
This is just mind blowing. No words can express what i can say about the skill set you guys possess.
Thanks very much for posting.
Se siente algo especial en su forma de ser... Así son los gestos de quienes son grandes personas. :)
amazing in all sorts of ways. Technique, memory, voice. everything perfect.
From 1:03 , the beats go simultaneous with 4/8 on one hand and 7/8 on the other
Holy Christ! How did you transcribe this?? Thanks for sharing!
I think they just showed the score and synced it with the voice... Transcription is impossible!

This is used as notation for percussion instruments like Mridangam as an accompaniment to the vocals in a carnatic concert.

I lost the count after 3 cycles.....Are they improvising real time ? Because this is huge head scratcher , even for Meshuggah :)

2:33-2:37 These runs sound like they're faster, in triplet. Anyone else?
I think you are right, but I could not make out the syllables here.
Omg.... Feel the tempo and time signature... I can't even think and blink..
Marveling at this, yet we ended up with Kamala.
