Morgan, beautiful job again. I also liked how you just turned the finial with the cup still on. Always wondered why turners didn't do that, if I'm scrapping the container I'm chucking it up and cutting through it just like you did, thanks for showing that.

Interesting grind on the gouge. I use one like that for doing the bottoms of deeper bowls, but not for general turning.

Question: I'm assuming good woodworkers avoid carbide insert tools because they're too sharp and too aggressive? That this needs a gentle touch and HSS nibbles where Carbide would chomp?
It's a pretty big topic.
gouges with carbide pellets work more like a scraper while hss steel gouges cut wood but require good sharpening and a different technique😉
