This is unconquerable! Most beautiful, lively yet touching composition I have ever heard, and the finesse with which legendary Rafi sir pulled this off is of astronomical proportions. This duet will stand by time till eternity, and none will be able to replace this heavenly work of art, ever. The way Sultanpuri selectively used regional/rural lyrics (especially the word *Hamaar*, Bhojpuri I guess) makes this song a rare perfect blend of romance and originality. Respect to pitch perfect Lata mam as well.
0:52 .. watch Meena Kumari getting into the mood of the song.(and Pradeep Kumar turns around as though taken by surprise) 4:12 ... varying shades of emotion on Meena Kumari's face. simply awesome! they paid attention to a lot of detail in those days.
My fav part of the song @ 4:14 -- just when u expect an explanation of "नाम तेरा ले ले कर गाए ... धड़कन का हर तार", the phrase begins with no words, just a flute filling in the void, delaying the answer and increasing the expectation! And the expression on her face is priceless!
A timeless Rafi Lata classic. Listen carefully how Lata utters the word, 'saajan' and how Rafi utters the word, 'paar' in their divine singing. The song touches the mind and straight enters the core of the heart. What a marvelous romantic song of the golden era that puts you in a state of ecstasy and makes you forget everything for the time being.
Timeless classic. Worth listening infinite times. Rafi and Lata's melodious voice. Enchanting tune and fitting lyrics. Handsome Pradeep Kumar and above all the most expressive face of Indian cinema Meena Kumari.
The striking brightness of the lightening during and a little before d flute interlude is completely overshadowed by the expressions on Meenaji's face during the Interlude. Pure MAGIC!
These are not songs, in fact they echo in the inner side of heart and go through the veins of human minds. What an expression of the great actress of all times Meena Kumari coupled with the melodious voice of Rafi sahab really superb
superb song in sweet melodious voice. Marathi tune and music with bhojpuri lyrics,Samandar ke kinare khade hokar 'Aa tohe sajani le chalu Nadiya ke par' ki baat. Behatarin talmel in contradiction.
I love the music, first it starts with folk music and dance, then changes to melodious song, what a great music by Roshanji and sung both by Lataji and Rafi saab. With combination of great actress Meenakumari. When all four combine it turns music to magic.
Very nice song.Wonderfully composed with Harmonium, dholak, tabla n flute.Roshanlal was very talented n knowledgeable composer of mid fifties n sixties.Awesome.
Such a lovely song - subtle, classy, heart tugging, magical. So beautiful, timeless - it’ll be listened with a gentle delight hundreds and thousands of years from now. The tragedy is that Meena Kumari’s life ended tragically as it should not.
Lata & Rafi in Aarti -- every song in this movies from early 1960s is a wonder -- you wonder how they ever got together the very best. Excelling in music, lyrics, voices. As you may have noticed, at one point the strings of the heart (dhadkan ka ye taar) do the singing. Way back then while in school a friend called it "Aarti Great". I have never seen the movie. But the music stays with me ...
Those beautiful days gone now only vulgarity. coming generations cant feel these songs because what they are seeing or listening is like sky & earth. feel sorry for director s of todays generation.
I am reading all these comments and I haven't seen this movie. I heard the songs and they are so heart warming. The Songs put you in a place where you feel like time stopped. As the years passes by the Indian movies are changing to suite modern time . We all have to accept change but when Indian movies change its doesn't have the buzz of Indian originality any more.Have you noticed that when an ancient story is written and a director/ producer makes a movie in countryside / rural settings in India it's always a hit. So food for thought.Modern is Modern just like the word but Old classic movies are UNIQUE..
The song is superb, there is no doubt about that. But I believe a lot of credit is also due to the director Phani Majumdar here. The composition, the detailing and the picturization that this song has, is simply superb; and for that Mr.Majumdar surely needs to be applauded.
beautiful song....amazing composition...if u notice the local accent by lata mangeshkar, she has adapted to typical marathi folk accent.....simple to listen and one that brings a little smile.....
An immortal duet song from movie आरती, beautifully sung by Lata Mangeshkar ji and Mohammed Rafi Sahab.. My tributes to both legendary singers of Hindi Film Industry. Salutes to Lyricist, and Music Composer. Excellent acting by Pradeep Kumar Sahab and Meena Kumari ji. 👍🌹🙏
one pf the most melodious duet of all time.meena kumari has a great expression in this song.such a great expresion on her face.its delight and a great experience to watch.wonderful.
What a song and music arrangement by great composer Roshan as if every string and tune answers what is being sung by the legends.laya theka.salute to every artist involved in this song.
such a lively song. The music is superb---and meena kumari she is so beautiful I am speechless---latas voice---- tareef karoon to kiski? rafi sahab ke avaaz ki, lataji ki, ya phir music director ki, ya meenaji ki
uffffffff. what a beautiful song and fantastic expressions especially from Meena Kuamari. How did they make such wonderful songs those days? The lyrics combined with the heroines looks are enough to drive anyone mad. Wanting to love and be loved. But times have changed. And change has to be accepted. We can't blame today's youth. Not only they, we are also trapped in these changing times. The only solace that our generation gets is through these timeless gems. Thanq youtube. Hats off to you.
Listening this melodious song from my childhood What a craze of this song by gramophone record Mind blowing song by Kohinoor of indian melody Rafi saheb and sawr samragi lataji Meenaji was superb with expression Salute to all divine soul Rafi Saheb lata did majrooh Saheb roshanji Pradeepji and meenaji
Meena Kumari and PK exude so much sweet love here as they did in Chitralekha, another movie with Roshan's enthralling music. And it too had Lata-Rafi contributions of memorable melodiousness. Meena, indeed, was a truly gifted and beloved star. It's sad how her life tragically ended at age 40. Thanks for the lovely upload.
Suro ka BADSHA chala gay hay magar aap neh Apneh Awaz Humlogo ko deh gay jis ko sun kar dil khus ho jata hay MUHAMMAD Rafi sahab. Mena kumari nice look nature muskan in this song Great Actress pardep Kumar Great Actor Great Great Jodi miss you ALL
observe friends what expression meena kumari gives at the end just after that (nam tera le le kar gaye dhadakan ka har tar) then flute bit then ooooo ...hai hai
While each of the performances are spot on, if there is one person who is the heart and soul of the film, it is Meena Kumari. In last stanza of this song just look st her facial expressions Sad that who, once a happy woman, latter onfound solace in heavy drinking.
absolutely great song !! Lata and Rafi rock under the baton of Roshan. How beautiful is MK. A consummate actrress. The likes of her will not tread the hindi filmdom again. Roshan saab at his best. Of all these people only Lata is alive. God bless her ! Rafi's melts hearts. thanks rajshri

Very nice sweet, classic , sweet heart ❣️ touching song sung by Lata ji,Mohd Rafi ji,lyrics by Majru Sultanpuri ji and musically beautifed Roshan ji❤❤❤
