Excellent performance. Not overplayed or "emoted". Tchaikovsky was aiming for comparative restraint here (for Tchaikovsky, that is. 😄) Fascinating to hear original version with omitted music, different order of variations, etc. I appreciate the inclusion of the other selections as well.
Beautiful rendition of these variations. Passionate, melancholic, playful... very humane indeed.
