While I'm enjoying my time with Palworld and the reactions the streaming community are having to it, I 100% support Josh's decision not to stream a game just because it's the Hot New Thing and instead play old games he likes. Don't cave to the pressure, my good man: stream games because you want to, not because the audience is entitled enough to believe that they can *demand* a certain kind of content from you. (Not that most of Josh's audience would do that IMO, but the Internet's got all sorts of people on it.)

Not Palworld itself, but the individual Pals, some are sus, most are fine, but one has the same hair as a pokemon and I can see it maybe getting reworked. I think the real problem with Palworld right now is that it's actually fun... and people are a combination of playing it for the views but also enjoying it... watching some of these people play it you can actually tell that they are having a thing called "fun" .. yea i know its super weird haven't seen it in a while myself till i tried palworld out and then i also experienced the "fun".
As part of the same age group, I can only agree. And survival games quickly become "boring" either way. I can imagine in 6 months someone will ask about Palworld and the internet will be like: Oh yes, that's right, the game existed too.

I've never been able to hop on hype trains for games. At a point it feels like you're being pressured to play it due to sheer popularity; and pressure to play games don't mix well with me. I will probably try it out once it's no longer in early access.
I kind of recommend waiting until a little more content gets added. It has a ton of great content right now, but I'm thinking about shelving it for a year or two until the full release so my experience of the final product isn't poorly affected by overplaying the existing content.
The current content allready surpass full released triple AAA but it is very buggy still and all your progress can wipe. I'd recommende just waiting for the patch because right now the game is allready very enjoyable.
As far as I've heard the developers aren't very good at getting to full game status. Let's just see what all the allegations bring. And, well, there are some design decisions that I would rather be playing Conan Exiles.

Hey Josh... Enshrouded... it's a survival game that allows you to play on your own server and then you can co-op with other players with your full level and gear.
I've simply got other games to play and don't want to play an open world crafting survival game that looks like one of those "Pokémon in Unreal Engine" videos. It's probably a very competent game but I know it's not my thing.
He never played lost ark back when people were suggesting him to do it and it was all the hype, so i sure hope people don't get surprised because of him not playing palworld xdd
I expressed my negative stance on Palworld, and all I got were passive aggressive remarks about Pokemons and personal insults, even stating that I do not care at all about Pokemon just resulted in them just saying: "you care enough to reply" and then passively asking me the rethoric question if my stance was "due to Nintendo that made the Waifus you like so much?" Someone even told me I was displaying "100% Twitter behaviour" and ironically that "if you can't handle others opinions you should just walk away". I did not even mention Pokemon nor Nintendo, neither said something that could be related to them, I even later specified that I dislike Pokemon, nothing of what I said mattered. Palworld audience/fanbase is truly one of the worst I have seen.
No matter the game if it’s in early access I’m just not getting invested. There’s always a risk of bugs and losing saves with updates or going from early access to release.
Technically now it has peaked at 2mil + which is insane. Though right now it has bugs that can be very annoying and has seized my personal playing of it. Good to see the love of Morrowind and I hope you headed straight to Suran's Earthly Delights.
It's the bare bones building mechanics and the awful combat and terrible AI that has dampened my enjoyment. I see they want to add PvP in the future. That combat system needs a lot of work before they add that feature. Other than a lot of the other problems I can chalk up to normal early access jank.

Well a lot of trustworthy artist and especially 3d artist claim they stole models. The defenders maybe say :"Gotcha you have to scale them to make them fit" But every one who knows how 3d models are done knows that its a nonsense argument. Because having your model be the same as someone else just because you scale it, is very unlikely.;)

Nintendo sueing them is what they want. Because as much hype as the game has Nintendo would always be the looser on the public image. I was never into Pokemon, and all I hear about Palworld is that it's Pokemon with guns. Cool if thats your thing, but not for me. it does explain some of the craze around it happening though, being as Pokemon is already highly popularized, that sort of sells itself.

@@PropaneWP gameplay is pretty good, essentially a conan exiles with pokemon. Graphics and design are nice. Quite a bit of meme material (catching humans, pal number 69, etc.) Overall a good game, but not free of bugs. Rubberbanding on dedicated servers, for example, is out of this world.

The monster taming aspects, base building, survial gathering, and warcrimes, all mix together to create a new very enjoyable flavour that's familair but different. Plus, it's sense of humor is pretty entertaining. The game has quite a few bugs currently, but I expected such, and it is early acess with them releasing freaquent patches. The game deserves it's success, it's a fun time and it's future looks pretty bright. The "controversies" are pretty much all terminally online people fuming another monster taming game is mainstream, and making up stuff with no evidence that Twitter parrots.

Technically didn't come out of nowhere, it was announced back in 2021. But the main point really is. Just play what you want to play, sometimes you're just not in the mood for Pokemon or Ark or it's fusion. Sometimes you just want to play something different. Or sometimes you just want to provide some variety of content. That works too.

Take it from someone who played for 3 hrs and got a refund, then got enshrouded with said refund and played for 8 hrs straight... you're not missing out on anything.
3 Hours is over the refund time of 120 Minutes and enshrouded is boring af. The shroud is interesting for a moment but besides some building the game could just be valheim in lazy. And valheim dev`s went silent for nearly two years and left there game to rot.
@@2dola skill issue? If your having problems with the slanted roof pieces put down 1 angled wall piece on the outside and 1 full wall piece on the inside. That should bypass the slanted roof placements and awkward holes on the sides.

Honestly been putting off getting Palworld because I was worried it was secretly bad or something but this made a couple things clear: the game probably isn't bad even if it might be over hyped, and I can wait on picking it up for a while yet. It will still be there when I have a better computer and storage space to run it.

I took a minute to look at what the faff was about on Twitter about Palworld. Saw their page on Steam and went: that's it? I'll have another look when its not killed by the Nintendo Yakuza or if it ever gets finished. Can't say I have high hopes for it.
I mean, from a Streamer standpoint, playing Palworld right now basically guarantees you'll get no new viewership because of how many people are already streaming it. I've been looking forward to it since the 2021 trailer, and I've been enjoying it a ton with the exploration, leveling, breeding to see what happens (breeding two different Pals can give a completely unrelated 3rd pal), but if I were a streamer, I'd avoid it like a plague. Morrowind, on the other hand, is timeless. It could use a graphical update, sure, but beyond that, I wouldn't want anything else changed. I can't wait for more of it from Josh & Morrowind should always be streamed :D

I am not gonna play it either, i was worried as one of my friends showed interest to Palworld by starting a conversation about it and i am glad it lead to nowhere. Final Fantasy 7 remake was our next game topic, that actually got myself interested and that is a completely different product from Japan

I want to say THANK you for not jumping in on "whatever is popular at the time", I sub to enough gaming channels who already do that. And thank you for not making the argument against Palworld a moral one, such as AI, asset similarity, etc. At least before our suspicions are proven, I see enough of that as it is as well. 😆I can totally get behind "I'm a crusty old man who likes Morrowing"
Well a lot of trustworthy artist and especially 3d artist claim they stole models.
The defenders maybe say :"Gotcha you have to scale them to make them fit"
But every one who knows how 3d models are done knows that its a nonsense argument. Because having your model be the same as someone else just because you scale it, is very unlikely.;)

@@guii6545 not sure how the laws are about 3d models. I think the palworld team planed the controversy to get attention. So i think it will not be enough to prove it.
Also even if its enough. Nintendo sueing them is what they want. Because as much hype as the game has Nintendo would always be the looser on the public image. And they might only have to change 1 or 2 designs then because its a early access game

I was never into Pokemon, and all I hear about Palworld is that it's Pokemon with guns. Cool if thats your thing, but not for me. it does explain some of the craze around it happening though, being as Pokemon is already highly popularized, that sort of sells itself.
No harm in waiting for Palworld to become more finished/polished. And really you need to play what gets you views.

I think Palworld took the internet by storm, because it's extremely fun, something lost in the video game industry..
But of course not all people will enjoy it, especially because still in Early Access state.

@@PropaneWP gameplay is pretty good, essentially a conan exiles with pokemon. Graphics and design are nice. Quite a bit of meme material (catching humans, pal number 69, etc.) Overall a good game, but not free of bugs. Rubberbanding on dedicated servers, for example, is out of this world.

Gamrplay is a fun blend of different genres with legit effort in it.
The monster taming aspects, base building, survial gathering, and warcrimes, all mix together to create a new very enjoyable flavour that's familair but different.
Plus, it's sense of humor is pretty entertaining.
The game has quite a few bugs currently, but I expected such, and it is early acess with them releasing freaquent patches.
The game deserves it's success, it's a fun time and it's future looks pretty bright.
The "controversies" are pretty much all terminally online people fuming another monster taming game is mainstream, and making up stuff with no evidence that Twitter parrots.
i will be, because very few studios/publishers are putting out innovative, engaging gaming experiences, preferring instead to stagnate and rely entirely on appealing to ""modern audiences."" palworld actually looks interesting, unlike the yearly CoD and AC re-releases.

PalWorld really shows the power of 'economies of scale'. That you don't have to price games at $70; you can still make a truckload of money by getting a game into as many consoles/pc as possible with a consumer friendly price//

Technically didn't come out of nowhere, it was announced back in 2021. But the main point really is. Just play what you want to play, sometimes you're just not in the mood for Pokemon or Ark or it's fusion. Sometimes you just want to play something different. Or sometimes you just want to provide some variety of content. That works too.

im only avoiding it because a) not the hugest fan of the concept (cartoon + pokemon mixed survival stuff) stranded deep is more my style tbh, and b) the recent sht with nintendo, i dont wana buy a game and invest time into it only for it to get nuked by another company lol, if i do ever end up getting it, itll have to be quite a while later.

Take it from someone who played for 3 hrs and got a refund, then got enshrouded with said refund and played for 8 hrs straight... you're not missing out on anything.
3 Hours is over the refund time of 120 Minutes and enshrouded is boring af. The shroud is interesting for a moment but besides some building the game could just be valheim in lazy. And valheim dev`s went silent for nearly two years and left there game to rot.

@@2dola skill issue? If your having problems with the slanted roof pieces put down 1 angled wall piece on the outside and 1 full wall piece on the inside. That should bypass the slanted roof placements and awkward holes on the sides.

I've had palworld on my wishlist way before it was cool. It's fun so far. Using a musket on a poké...i mean pal...is very satisfying.
Honestly been putting off getting Palworld because I was worried it was secretly bad or something but this made a couple things clear: the game probably isn't bad even if it might be over hyped, and I can wait on picking it up for a while yet. It will still be there when I have a better computer and storage space to run it.
I have a lot of fun playing Palworld.
You have financial stability thanks to patreon so you don't have to feel forced to play every trending games, which is a huge advantage you got by refusing many sponsors.

I took a minute to look at what the faff was about on Twitter about Palworld. Saw their page on Steam and went: that's it?
I'll have another look when its not killed by the Nintendo Yakuza or if it ever gets finished.
Can't say I have high hopes for it.
I mean, from a Streamer standpoint, playing Palworld right now basically guarantees you'll get no new viewership because of how many people are already streaming it.
I've been looking forward to it since the 2021 trailer, and I've been enjoying it a ton with the exploration, leveling, breeding to see what happens (breeding two different Pals can give a completely unrelated 3rd pal), but if I were a streamer, I'd avoid it like a plague.
Morrowind, on the other hand, is timeless. It could use a graphical update, sure, but beyond that, I wouldn't want anything else changed.
I can't wait for more of it from Josh & Morrowind should always be streamed :D
You know what - i totally get this sentiment. I love palworld. Its soooo much fun. And yet right now im playing dark souls remastered because steam says ive never finished it and that needs to change
I wish I could have the feelings that playing Morrowind the first time conjured in me again. A remake with update combat and improved loading would probably eat another 100 hours of my life. lmao
My experience with palworld has been that its a neat game to play with a friend, but doesn't seem that addictive solo, like most survival games.
Idk what the hype is about, to be fair.
Im having plenty of fun solo, FFXIV was a great sleep aid for me.
