Craig, Matt, I am a junior doctor working with Covid-19 patients in the UK. I cannot express to you how much your show means to me and how comforting it is to still get episodes from you guys despite the pandemic. Somehow the new show setup is accentuating the whole dystopian vibe of things, very Twelve Monkeys. And it weirdly works! Also, congratulations Craig!
I don't usually comment but I will say this thank you Matt and Craig and everyone else from blame society you guys are really making the quarantine a bit easier! I've been watching the back catalog
I appreciate you guys going out of your way to keep the show going during this time! I think you're doing a great job with keeping the same feel of the show Matt, kudos on your editing prowess!
Yay!!! You guys read my donation thing! But seriously, the Blame Society shows have really kept me out of my head during some super dark times in recent months. Everyone stresses the importance of getting out of DV, but no one really mentions how psychologically broken you are after. I've been comparing it to trying to rebuild your home after a natural disaster.
Matt, Craig and Tona thank you for keeping the show going through these unusual times I'm sure it's a little more difficult to get to us and just know that we appreciate it. And congratulations Craig.
I've been looking for reactions of one of my favourite iconic Aussie films and you're the first one I've found. THANK YOU and I'm SUBBING! Loved the style of your whole video and I'm looking forward to looking at more of your content now.
I just want to say how grateful I am that you're continuing with the show. Over the years it's become a comforting part of my week, and this little bit of normalcy in an otherwise chaotic time is a tremendous stress relief to myself and doubtless many others. Keep up the good work, and thank you.
That pathetic wacky waving tube man needs to become the show mascot. There's your constructive criticism. If you guys want to be stars, that thing just needs to be struggling in the background of every episode like an old man before his pill.
Hey, glad to see you guys doing your best to keep the show going! Silly as it might look, don't underestimate the effectiveness of keeping in touch by engaging the same media through laptop web cams and stacked furniture - speaking from experience there. Thanks for the episode, and stay safe!
I'm so glad that you found a way to make this happen. I'm sure it was additional layer of work but it cheered me up to see you guys since I joined the ranks of the unemployed yesterday. The inflatable man bit cranked me up. Congratulations to Craig on the baby, I hope everyone is doing well.
I don't think there has been a thing you guys have done that I haven't liked. The way you guys set this up is great. No complaints. Thanks for working to keep us entertained!
You guys are the best - I watch everything you have ever done and I am sure whatever you release will help a lof of people including me get through this time.
The editing was very good in this one! The last B&BG episode suffered a little from the cuts, where someone would say something and we wouldn't hear the reactions of the others. I think it's integral to the whole dynamic to have everyone's audio together so that the conversation will flow naturally to the viewer, even if that means a decrease in audio quality.
Great episode. Thanks for keeping your familes, yourselves, and others safe. I think you've managed to maintain the format of the show well. Vive la quarantine!
Wonderful episode, guys, really happy to see you continuing with this very special show. This film is such a great period piece and really important to Australia and our film industry, I'm glad you got a kick out of it.
Lorenzo has a baby brother!!! Congratulations! I hope he adds a ray of sunshine to these dark days, even though being quarantined with a newborn must be hard.
Thank you for doing this and being creative with how to get Matt on the couch. And congratulations to matt on #2! I have two as well, and I often refer to them in person as "number 1" and " number 2". We are all in the same boat, so no reason to complain about your WTTB MacGyver hack. I think we're going to do family board game night using video chat so Grammy can join. Stay well, and stay sane. Thumb kiss!
@@blamesocietyfilms me dork. Yes, sorry about that. Guess I have a touch of the "cabin fever ". And its probably the same cabin fever from Muppet Treasure Island
Simple question: we're all in quarantine, no one's leaving their place for a while, so I assume we're all watching more movies!! So what movies do you recommend while getting through this period?
Hit up some of the longer films you've been putting off. I've been re-watching the Ghibli Films and plan on doing a Disney chronological watch through of features.
Congrats to Craig! And also I am perfectly pleased with how the new format of the show turned out! I very happy that the show is able to continue. Stay safe guys xo
Hey guys, trans person here, couple things: 1. The show looks great, I'm really glad you're keeping it up during the quarantine. 2. I think it's great that you're watching this movie 3. I wish you hadn't referred to their group as 'the boys' so often, if Bernadette is actually a trans woman than it's not really correct, and it just rubbed me the wrong way. I know you guys are very inclusive and open minded about these issues, so I thought I should mention it. Also the term 'transsexual' has gone out of fashion in a large part of the trans community, so rather than calling her a transsexual trans woman or transgender woman would be a more humanizing way of referring to her. 4. I absolutely love your show, I've been watching for years and it's changed the way I analyze film and storytelling in general, and I've always found it incredibly entertaining, I routinely rewatch episodes when I'm feeling down cause they can always cheer me up. Thank you so much for continuing to make such great entertainment for all of us.
Glad you found away to put this show on. This is a new but temporary reality for all of us. I'm glad you and both of your families are doing okay and congrats Craig on little Sonny!
I was expecting a giant drop in quality the way you were introducing the episode, but this is nearly perfect, great job with the set up and editing (as always). The only improvement I can think of is to get Craig a better mic.
@@blamesocietyfilms ah I see. Oh well, since he's on a laptop you can count it as foley, it might be strangely more distracting if his audio wasn't a little messy! Everything else works fantastic, great work =]
Hey guys! great work setting up the show in light of everything going on. It's nice to know that you were able to essentially maintain the esthetic even with one of you absent. as opposed to dropping the format and just doing split screen vlogging like some you tubers have. (not that there's anything wrong with that, but I like that's not what you decided to do) I have two very minor suggestions for the set up. 1. maybe next time Matt or Tona leave the house they can drop the gift for Craig off at his doorstep? that way he can open it on camera instead of having Matt open it for him and saying "hey! Look what you can't have." 2. if Craig's video cuts out again maybe you can replace it with silly photos of him? I imagine you'd got a lot from the Chad Vader days. or from simply editing the videos a freezing at random times. and that's all I've got at the moment. Keep up the great work guys and congratulations Craig!
Congratulations Craig! It feels like it's only been a year or so since you showed us Lorenzo (I know it's been longer, but damn, where does the time go) and now there's a new little addition to the Basement family. Considering the current Quarantine situation, this seems like a perfect time to quickstart Santino's film education. Start soft, some Sesame Street movies, Barney, Peewee Herman, etc. and then, if you get a good response, I'd say jump straight to The Exorcist. He's gotta learn the horrors of Catholicism eventually, might as well be sooner rather than later. PS: Looks I'm not the only one rocking a Quarantine stache.
I’d love for you guys to have more LGBTQ themes on your show! This movie is great! Speaking of which, have you seen Knife + Heart? It’s a great gay slasher film with an awesome soundtrack!
Hey guys! Glad to see you're all good and well, and that you're keeping up with the content. Also, Seen it? The Dirty Dozen. It's one of my new favorite movies I'll watch again and again.
I thought you meant "Cheaper by the Dozen" at first and literally gasped in disgust. So, sorry for silently judging you so harshly on something that doesn't matter, and then being wrong about it anyway.
A real credit to what matt and kreg bring to this show that even with a hit to video and audio quality I still hang on every word they say. Bravo! Tho I would bring the laptop higher so matt isnt looking down the entire time.
Love you guys, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate y'all continuing to do the show and entertaining all of us during this weirdness. Plus I LOVE this movie, so, y'know...double win. Stay safe, keep being awesome, and congrats Craig on the newest nugget! :-D (Oh, and also, ABBA turd.)
Last week my cinema appreciation class talked about Nanook of the North and I was like "I know about that one!" I'm realy happy that I've been watching this show for so long everything we talk about in this class I already have a vague knowledge of becuase of you guys haha
The show is actually surprisingly intact, well done guys. The only thing that really seems to have been impacted is the interaction between you two on the couch, obviously because you two aren't both physically on the couch together. I'm not sure if you could manage a way to be able to see each other, maybe something as simple as a large mirror next to the tv angled so you can see the laptop would work. That could be distracting though, and I'm not sure it would actually facilitate the interplay we usually get. Just a thought. P.S. I agree with both Craig and Matt regarding Knifes Out, I really enjoyed most of it but it was a real shame that the majority of the family is largely forgotten for a large portion of the film. P.P.S. I look forward to this show every week and it would have been a shame to loss this along with so many other things right now. If it's anything like whenever I try to video message someone I'm sure it was a pain in the ass to make happen, thanks for doing this, guys.
I think a good change you can do is buy a larger scale wacky wavy inflatable tube guy, put a picture of Craig's face on it, and set it right next to you while you watch the next movie.
Wish Craig had the blu ray too, would’ve made a good visual gag when Matt tosses it “through” the screen ! Also for seen it : The Fall by Tarsem Singh ?

Honestly this is a really creative and fun way of doing things in light of a bad situation. The spatial integrity is very much intact.
Craig, Matt, I really want to thank you for finding a way to keep doing the show. You guys rock.

The impotent tube man at 4:00 really caught me off guard and got me laughing 😂

The "throwing the DVD case" Gag was excellent and I hope it never stops
The longer that interstitial moment with the inflatable man went on, the more I laughed.
I guess it just wasn't in the mood.
Would it be appropriate to gift to Lorenzo after all the innuendo?
I laughed enough that my family was curious about what was so funny.
Thanks for all the hard work that goes into the show and making it work during the quarantine.

I so badly wanted Matt to throw the DVD case at the screen and someone to throw it at Craig where he is.

It's a Disaster (2012). Indie movie with a great cast and solid jokes. The less you know, the better it is
Black Dynamate's a great movie to watch, so is Hacksaw Ridge. If you want an older movie, the Cardinal was also really good
if you haven't seen it, Repo Man (1984) It's the best punk film ever made
