Hey that’s good. Notice the FVGCG function during vehicle movement. Two gyros to lock target. 1RHA had to dispose of excess ammunition on a NATO exercise in early seventies and put 120 rounds down one barrel to consternation and admiration of Leopard 1 German Regiment on same range. They were fairly stunned at accuracy and rate of fire on series of targets. Bloody good tank when properly maintained. Arte et Marte REME.

@@alangordon3283 Normal procedure for self propelled artillery is to have armoured OP’s to keep up with tank units. Having trained on Chieftain I got a Centurion to look after as well as the guns of course plus some Stalwarts a few Ferrets Mr Brown’s compass and any other old crap electrically that the VM’s couldn’t fix. Add to that the Officer’s cars, horse boxes etc. Life was very interesting as you had to fix whatever came your way.

My Dad was British Army from late 1946 into the 60s. Initiially trained with the 17/21st Lancers on Cruiser tanks, then was transferred to the Royal Scots Grey's as they re-roled onto the Centurion. He rated the Centurion very highly.
