Not guilty is NOT the same as innocent. That’s why we can all say with confidence that OJ and Casey are murderers. The state has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they killed and in Casey’s case- they didn’t. There was mud cast by the defense to put that doubt in the jury’s mind and that came in the form of blaming it on the grandfather. The jury thought she probably did it but weren’t certain, and they didn’t feel comfortable sending someone to death row when it COULD have been grandpa who did it. The prosecution blew it- over played their cards and even forgot to bring up some critical evidence (f’n morons). And it was JUST enough to throw that wrench in there. This loss was a combo of the prosecution sucking and the defense lawyer (whom I loath) doing an incredible job at blaming everyone else. The jury merely responded with the appropriate verdict for what they were given (the public had a LOT more info than they had because of rules of evidence).

That’s not true. The state CAN do a new trial IF new evidence comes in. This is a major misunderstanding that 99% of ppl have about double jeopardy. In fact- one moron tested it. I can’t recall his name but this dude killed someone, and was tried and found “not guilty” and then sent a confession letter to the prosecutor as a “eff you” and laughed at them because they couldn’t do anything about it. That letter counted as new evidence and that dude is in prison till he dies now. I’m sure if you google it you can find the case, the guy was a white supremacist psycho.

I quote from Wikipedia, "On Jul 5, 2011, the jury found Casey not guilty of counts one through three regarding first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter of a child, and aggravated child abuse, while finding her guilty on counts four through seven for providing false information to law enforcement". So, they could have acquitted her of 1 and 2, murder and manslaughter, while charged her with 3, child abuse. No death penalty, but jail term. Why didn't they?

@kateashby3066 police did wrong. The prosecution team did wrong, but the jury did wrong, too. Police should have pushed casey harder for more information about what happened. The prosecution team was a bunch of high flyers who wanted to make a career out of this case. But the jury was ignorant too to not charge her of child abuse. I quote from one of the jurors, "My decision haunts me to this day," he says. "I think now if I were to do it over again, I'd push harder to convict her of one of the lesser charges like aggravated manslaughter. At least that. Or child abuse. I didn't know what the hell I was doing, and I didn't stand up for what I believed in at the time."

After her peacock special, m0ron Rosie O’Donell took the bail and so did some other dum-dums. Not everyone is working with a full deck!

Double Jeopardy... She's been tried and found innocent. So there will never be any Justice for little Caylee....

First of all, “not guilty” is NOT “innocent”. The jury knew an well she wasn’t innocent. Secondly- That’s not true about DJ. The state CAN do a new trial IF new evidence comes in. The prosecution did NOT present a case to the jury that could lead them to a Guilty verdict so if anyone is to blame, it’s them!
Leave Casey alone! She spent time in jail, had a trial and was found Not Guilty and cannot be brought up on murder charges again! Let it go and let this woman live her life!!!
Side note: I watched every second of this trial, reviewed every document, watched every documentary and if I was on the jury would have found her not guilty too!! This was for academic purposes and not as a sleuth so I was unbiased unlike most people who found her guilty the second she was arrested!

I watched it all to and I think she is GUILTY and I think her father hide things also! She can't be tried for murder but there are so many more things she should go to prison for especially all the stuff that has came out about this baby! How would you feel if this was your child?

@@blondiex3308 The judicial process has nothing to do with the defendant’s behavior and how it is perceived by the public. The evidence presented by the prosecution was not solid enough to justify a verdict of Guilty by the jury! The end. The public and media do not determine guilt, it’s the jury!
If you review my statement, I never said the word “innocent” because there is a difference between innocent & not guilty.

@@blondiex3308 She got into the pool and they thought she was in bed.The next morning Casey’s mother told her co workers that someone had been in their pool because she saw water by the pool and the ladder was at the oil.Caseys father found her and he and Casey panicked because Casey mother had beat Casey up the night before so they didn’t dare to tell her because of what she might do so that’s when the lieing began and Casey had to hide the body and cook up a lie.She didn’t tell the truth untill she had a lawyer but her father kept lieing untill his girlfriend took the stand and said what he had told her. Then they put two and two together. They both feared Casey’s mother and that’s what happened.i believe. It is sad.
