“Ang pagbisita namin ngayon ay upang damayan kayo na ngayong panahon ng krisis at matiyak na makararating ang ayuda at serbisyo ng pamahalaan sa inyo na tunay na nagsisikap para sa pamilya at sa bayan,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reassured as he personally led the distribution of various assistance to the residents of the Province of Sultan Kudarat, highlighting the whole-of-government approach under the vision of ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ in addressing the impacts of the El Niño phenomenon across the country.
In his remarks, the President underscored the importance of unity throughout the nation as the crisis continues to affect the livelihoods of Filipinos, particularly in Mindanao. He called for his countrymen’s continued cooperation as the government takes significant steps in seeking solutions to pressing issues confronting the nation.
“Kaya ito ang pakay ko ngayon dito sa inyo. Hindi lang maghatid ng tulong pero magbigay ng pangako: na kasama niyo ang pamahalaan sa paglaban sa masamang epektong dulot ng El Niño,” he said.
“Sa Bagong Pilipinas, nagkakaisa po ang pamahalaan upang sabay-sabay nating mapagtagumpayan ang mga unos at pagsubok na ating nararanasan,” President Marcos Jr. added.
During the event, the Chief Executive distributed assistance to the affected communities and other forms of government services from the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), among others. He also extended financial aid from the Office of the President (OP) to the Provincial Governments of Sultan Kudarat and Cotabato amounting to PhP50 million that will benefit the farmers and fisherfolk affected by the El Niño.
“Lubos ang aking paghanga sa patuloy ninyong pagtitiyaga upang matupad ang inyong mga hangarin at maging susi sa tuluyang pagbabago ng ating lipunan. Nawa’y gamitin ninyong kasangkapan ang mga tulong na ibinahagi namin ngayon upang mapabilis ang inyong pagbangon at maibalik ang sigla ng inyong mga sakahan at palaisdaan,” he conveyed.
Aside from the Province of Sultan Kudarat, President Marcos Jr. also visited Zamboanga City and will proceed to General Santos City to distribute government assistance.
