I like my guitar to go Chang and not Chong, I've always hated boxy sounding guitar, I find the Katana is ice picky with a cocked wah type of tone out of the box , I really didn't like it at first, although my main reason for buying my head was as a practice amp so I didn't really care Then I discovered tone studio, now it's my main giging amp, I also picked up a 100wat combo for £150!! I think your videos are essential viewing for any Katana owner who isn't happy with the tone they are getting out of this astonishing bargain of an amplifier
I sold the first katana i bought. I honestly thought it was a piece of junk. I bought another after i saw all the vids on how to use the tone studio. Low and behold the damn thing finally gives me some beautiful tones leverything from beautiful cleans and srv texas blues tones to eddie van halen tones and sick ass tight modern metal tones 😳
Thanks for sharing most all videos are done with high saturation levels of distortion. It be great if there was a combination of clean tones and overdrive.
Loving the video tutorials very well explained in every video I’ve seen.. so helpful. I had this amp for a week now and I’ve only been playing guitar for six months so I know nothing about amps and effects. Can I just ask, do I adjust the EQ on the panel first before tweeking the ge-10 or is there no point using the panel if I’m going to use the ge-10 EQ in tone studio ? Can I set the panel controls to 12 o’clock use the ge-10 to get the tone I want and just use the panel to make adjustments on the fly? How was it meant to be used I guess I’m asking? Thanks
Thank you again Paul. Great explanation of how to use this EQ. Cheers! Hope you and your Family are all healthy and safe. Things are getting pretty grime over here; but my Family and I are all fine. John Russell (73 year young Rocker now in a rocker ;) in the U.S.A.(Born in Portsmouth U.K)
Question, using the 10 band, my band plays a lot of Classic 80's stuff plus a lot of Southern Rock...I am personally the rhythm guitarist and not to interested in the lead settings, I'm more concerned with cutting through the mix with the rhythm stuff.
a master class on 10 band EQ is good for the IQ......and tone ! I learned a lot !
Great video as usual. Very informative for numptys like me who basically knows nothing about proper eq ing
Nice, I'm going to use this for my muff pedals!
A simple but informative video.....going to apply this knowledge to the EQ in my Helix
What a great amp value. Tough to beat.

Great vids, keep 'em coming! :)

Great tips mate!
I found that I prefer the bass middle and treble above 60 on the katana but I pull out the mids using the Graphic EQ for the feel.

Hi, I have a doubt. What's the difference between the Amp In and Amp Out position?
What’s the difference of “Amp in” and “Amp out” regarding the EQ?
Equalizer before the amp = "Amp In"
Equalizer after the amp = "Amp Out"
Hey Paul. I cant find the link for a coffee?
Hey Zigger Zagger. Thanks for telling me, the link is back on the video. Thanks Paul
Ive read that Randy Rhoads boosted 500 and Tom Scholz was big on 800...
