Robin Williams ad libbed “Son of a b*tch, he stole my line.” They liked it so much they left it in the final cut. After his death, someone wrote on the exact bench they sat on in Boston Common the epithet read “Your move Chief.”

The sad thing is that the popular story of this movie is a huge lie. Damon and Affleck are both Ivy League trust-fund babies. Damon wrote a thriller script about a genius being chased by the government, and his family connections got it shopped to a bunch of A-list writers and producers who turned it into this dramatic character story.
This is mostly their work, not so much his. Certainly not his random pal Affleck's. Will Hunting wouldn't have had a chance in their world. The "apples" guy is basically them.

    • @Stogie2112

I don't know why you have a personal problem with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, but film screenplays get changed all the time.
From what I've read, Damon and Affleck got good advice from some very good film makers such as Rob Reiner. They rewrote their screenplay accordingly, and it was a brilliant piece of work.

The story that Sean tells about his wife farting was not part of the script. Robin adlibbed the whole thing and the laughs from Matt are genuine. Also notice that the carmera jiggled a bit because everyone was laughing so hard.
Also the final line was not in the script either.

My only gripe with this movie is that at the end Ben Affleck quickly forgets he just gave him a car. So if his car is not there, he goes to attempt to pick him up anyways then notices he is not there. Just how he had wished it many times before. Pretty cheesy they allowed that for the film.

  • @bloatus7611

I think Stellan Skarsgard's character is a bit misunderstood in this film the first time you watch it. He's a creep and up his own ass but he sees potential in Will and is interpreting Will's trauma responses correctly as self-sabotage but providing a different track of showing him what's possible. Things he may not have even considered. I do think he and Robin's character kinda work in tandem because Stellan can't see that Will has to be broken down first before he's even willing to look at himself outside of the people and things that he finds stable.
I do think sometimes, depending on who you are, it can be a great thing to have someone on your ass and not letting up. There are so many people who fall through the cracks waiting for at least one person like that. Like you guys talked about, by the end he had two more supports than he had in the beginning and there's still a lot of work to be done.

It will explain everything on why people are the way they are and do the things they do. The 16 MBTI personalities can almost automatically fix mental health and society as a whole.

Horrendous editing. Example: You completely cut the fight scene out, but included the court scene. You also didn't include any of the other psychologists/psychiatrists that lead up to finally going with Sean. Frankly, you cut out numerous great scenes & dialogue. But of couse you get Politically Correct Woke Butt Hurt by the line ~ Dots not feathers. You even challenged the joke ~ I don't have much hair left. He wasn't being literal you, Dullard. Your channel will Fail.
