- Take a look at the all-new 2023 Porsche 911 Dakar Rallye Design Package playing in the desert.
The first thing that immediately stands out on the Porsche 911 Dakar is its ride height: It is 50 millimeters higher than on a 911 Carrera model with Sport Suspension. In addition to this, the standard lift system can raise the front and rear of the car by an additional 30 mm - achieving a level of ride height and ramp-over angles similar to conventional SUVs.
The 3.0-liter twin-turbo Boxer engine makes 473 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque and delivers commanding performance accompanied by the unmistakable Boxer engine sound. The new 911 Dakar accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, the top track speed is limited to 150 mph due to the higher cross-section of the all-terrain tires.
The Porsche 911 Dakar is expected to begin arriving in U.S. dealers in Spring 2023, with a starting MSRP of $222,000 excluding $1,450 for delivery, processing and handling.

Every single video showing this new 911 Dakar driving off road has confirmed that it is capable of running with a Kia Sorrento and Toyota Highlander. It’s nowhere close as capable as the original 911 that could actually run the Dakar Rally.
Porsche did make a serious 911 off roader and climbed the highest volcano on earth with it but that is not what they're selling to the public, sadly.

That road looks pre-graded. Apart from a puddle it looks as rough as the average gravel driveway. Those low-profile tyres will pop on the first pothole they hit. But don't worry, if anything breaks I'm sure that the local Porsche dealer in the middle of nowhere will have a ready supply of spare parts on hand...

I don't think that the low ground clearance and the ultra wide racing tires fit the needs of the rally dakar. These have probably only fitted to make it look "cool" 👀

It could probably give the Kia Sorrento a run for its money but not by much.
Thats a drawback people with some knowledge see. No way it could do the rally from Paris to Dakar. The suspension will break and vehicle will get stuck. Old one looks more rugged.
