@@sandoggo Well I mean Osis did also say "Fuck the french on the stage" and then at the end of the round shoved the mic in his chest, Julard just returned the banter, it's battle energy my friend
Respect to both but osis won for me. I just like his sounds, flow, compositions etc. For example julards polyphonic voice and lip oscillation doesn't sound pleasant to my ears. But tracks of osis i want to hear again and again. So it's subjective but my vote defenitely for osis
Julard really detsroyed Osis idk why so many people cry about it but both of Julards rounds were much better even on video, live its even more clear imo
I’d say this final was more contentious than others especially because of Julard’s freestyle-like performances in contrast with Osis’s style and Julard’s freakish power. Osis’s style resonates more with beatbox heads (and judges probably). Stylistically, they’d prefer Osis to win. But that’s if all other things remain the same. Julard’s power, especially heard live, basically and convincingly swallowed anything Osis could have said. It is true though that he appeared unprepared given how he basically freestyled through his rounds. This is not like Colaps vs River in GBB21 where both finalists had enough fresh material for the finale and it turned into a very close match between two similar beatboxers, nor is it like River vs Napom in GBB23 in which while Napom did freestyle, it felt relatively more cohesive and digestable than Julard’s final rounds. And between Napom and River it felt close too. All that being said, Julard won by overwhelming Osis - who had two final rounds that were lackluster compared to his earlier GBB matches - with his powerful freestyles that captured the energy of the crowd in his rounds despite many beatboxers’ inclination towards Osis’s more refined and established style. It wasn’t close, especially live for those reasons but people still prefer Osis’s style despite those things and for that reason alone say he should have won.
0:53 one of the coldest moment 🥶

Most people who follow beatboxing online can't be objective and always want their favorite beatboxer to win :)
