I believe in the Bible so obviously there will be things I don't agree with you on. On the other hand, I learned a lot of historical information from David Carroll and Brian Solonge. I learned some new perspectives from you as well.
I agree that the black attitude should not just be "leave it to God." The way I see it is that we already have the power to make things move. In the Amber Guyger or Dylan Roof's case, they acted unlawfully and took innocent lives and I believe God would want us to drop the hammer on them.
I also do not like to use quotes from the Bible to someone who does not believe in it unless it is specifically asked ot unless it is necesssary to make a point. I find that counterintuitive.
I don't know if you would care and I'm not sure how the woman you spoke about explained Job's story but I'll share my perspective. I am not trying to convert you and take that as you will.
God actually wanted to show Job's resolve to Satan while strengthening Job. Sometimes we don't know our strength if we don't go through hardship. I would not call it a bet because God. Satan thought he would have someone turn against God which is his goal. I think about this story as a businessman who loses everything. He will go through a hard time but after a while, the skills that he built in his original business would help bounce right back.
At the end of the story, God did not leave Job hanging. Job was given back everything that he lost and his riches were multiplied ten fold.
In a non-spiritual, physical sense, the bad happened to Job but he probably had to work super hard to get everything back ten fold. This kind of strength to persevere would only come from being in a place of hardship. It is lazy talk to not do anything and just leave it to God. He or she will act upon his faith and try to make things happen while believing in God.
We know the white supremacist is going to throw a wrench in the black agenda. We might lose our wives, children, and riches in the process so will we just turn our backs on the agenda or continue fighting for a better black community? I believe the answer is the latter.
