Koll and Feather making Boros great again.
I'm also wrong about casting turn one with Jeweled Lotus in most cases as I forgot that it only produces one color. I'm just too lazy to edit the mistake.

My friend was telling me about this video a couple days ago, and it really opened my eyes to how good this card actually is. Also T1 win is absolutely possible with Mana Crypt & Mana Vault, but I'm not sure if the deck can win T1 with more budget friendly options. Still a very cool card, and I'm looking forward to running him as part of the 99 as a win con in some of my equipment themed decks. I might actually be the only person who enjoys WotC doubling down on equipment with Boros, and this guy is easily going alongside Feather as one of the best Boros commanders for sure. Kind of reminds me of your Gerrard video awhile back!
Yeah, I think Rograkh Boros and Rograkh Mardu decks are gonna love this combo. It's incredibly efficient and uses very few dead cards when you have Rograkh in the command zone

You two have been rubbing off on me, guess I couldn’t resist” Blue: “Ohohoho, we are so dirty aren’t we? Cant wait to bully the other 3 colors, we’ll turn their library’s into their grave yards. Ha!” Boros: “hey guys what’s up?” Black: “.....what?” Blue: “....um Dimir....why is this peasant hand size color combo here?” Dimir: “Boros, wha- how are you in our mill club? You don’t have any mill colors!” Boros: “oh, well I found these artifacts and I saw how many games you were winning with mill. So I thought I’d try it” Dimir “You’re always ruining things for me Boros, this is why WOTC hates you. I’d make you draw cards out of pity but you still wouldn’t be at a full hand size”
Some good backup finishers here are Storm cards, since you'll be building up a storm counter with all those zero-cost creatures. Grapeshot is the obvious one, but Ignite Memories could be potent as well. Empty the Warrens could get you some extra Impact Tremors triggers and add more bodies to sacrifice if you need something else--or give you a massive board.
cards needed in hand: a perfect 7: mox opal, mox amber, mana crypt, altar of dementia, plateau, rograh son of rohgahh, and shuko. turn 1: mox opal, mox amber, mana crypt, tap mana crypt play altar of dementia, play plateau, cast rograhh son of rohgrahh, tap plateau play shuko, tap mox amber and mox opal to cast commander. win.
Just because you can win turn 2, doesn’t mean you always should...unless it’s cedh. If you pull off a turn 2 win at a casual table you’re probably gonna irritate the table.
Thats why this deck wouldn't play with those tables. Majority of players have multiple decks at different levels. This would sit higher up on the power scale, probably right below CEDH
Plains into mana crypt into mana vault, cast iron myr and lightning grieves. Put boots on myr. Tap the colored sources for koll. 2 spots left plus your draw, let's say skirk prospector, goblin arsonist and simian spirit guide. One red mana of of turn 1 win. But that's as far as off the top of my head can get.
Plains +spirit guide gets koll, easy. Skirk + goblin arsonist + shuko =ping to death. So, 3 cards including your draw to get 2 red and 1 generic from nothing. Heart of Ramos gets 2 red from 3 colorless. So, 3 cards for 3 generic mana. Crypt + vault. Done!
Pulled the alternate art from a pre-release kit. Gonna build this deck and test it out. Thanks for the deck tech. Should be fun to run against more powerful decks.
I have a question: if you are using an equipment with equip-sacrifice a creature, shouldn't the combo be unable to work since you pay the equip cost in the layer before the equipment is attached to the net0 creature, which will result in the commander not triggering?
Lotus petal, mana crypt, sol ring, and a signet (arcane or boros), these are the ramp peices needed to pull this off turn 1, and remember to draw cause this needs 8 cards to pull off. And its fairly budget, except for mana crypt. But have fun with this knowledge.
Mana crypt, sol ring, jeweled lotus or lotus petal, ornithopter, a colored land, altar of dementia, and shuko in starting hand. Highly unlikely, but it's a turn one win.
Not much i can add to what has been said. Some creatures could be mana dumps for token creation. Doomed traveler, garrison cat, hunted witness, grim initiate. only if you have the sacrifice effects though with auto equip.
Sorry to have to ask, but is there a direct link to this deck, I tried searching the TCG link that was in the description, but I am not able to find this decklist! :/ Thanks for the share and thanks in advance for the link :D
Turn 1 Win, easy. Jeweled Lotus, a plains and mana crypt as well as a one or two costed equipment that equips for 0 and 0 cost creature. Play Jeweled Lotus, Mana Crypt and the Basic and tap all 3 for 6 mana making sure that jeweled lotus is for red. Use one red and one white for commander, use nothing for the creature, use one and a red for goblin bombardment (you can use colourless if you get altar of dementia meaning you can also get a mountain), and use the remaining mana for your equipment. And then do the combo. Thus a turn 1 win
Besides the combo I’m confused on this cards design. Why does it benefit equipped/enchanted token and nontoken? It seems to split the focus of the deck a tiny bit.
I think the main thing was to benefit going wide with equipment/auras, and the best payoff for that was to protect your creatures from dying. But, in a go wide deck they didn't want to discourage you from playing tokens, so they went ahead and a gave them a stat boost.
That was the first deck i ever made, Pebbles, and first deck i toke to my first tournament. Wow...i fell old, 21 years ago. Nice that they brought it back.
Is it normal that the link in the description has a lot of deck but there is only one that I find that is related to any of your video is turn 1 loss??? I think i have almost all these cards but to validate i want the list
Love this I like the 2 turn potential. But I have never been able to buy these decks you build from TCG player. I built one of your colorless deck builds. I want you to do a new +1/+1 counters deck.
I'll be joining a Commander league but uncommon commanders, I have been thinking about doing this one but am unsure..... its 100 dollar limit... any other commanders you recommend?
I much prefer Teshar. He may restrict your ability of colors to just White, but it also means you don't have any other colors to worry about. Furthermore, the objective is to get one of the many permanents you can have access to including Silence and it's counterpart where your literally stopping your opponents from stopping you from winning. Best case is if you have Grand Ablisher available to you. Ever since "masterminding" a turn 1 Gitrogg deck, i've realized that while you can get yourself into that position you end up having problems in the form of "the fun police" Force of Negation, Force of Will, Pact of Negation, and even a few other low cost counterspells that can fully disrupt your ability to win on that first or second turn. Especially Mental Mistep. Dealing with such counterspell action is resource taxing, more so than something that would get rid of one of your creatures. I've been able to win from going to upkeep, opponent doing Path to Exile on Teshar, and being able to pull of a win condition. But i also understand how unlikely this type of win can be. I would LOVE to have a boros commander with a plan, unfortunately that commander is going to be Sunforger Zirda. I've discovered that unless your playing Blue, you shouldn't put too much reliance on the graveyard. That's why Selvala Heart of the wild and Korvold are so good at what they do, Korvold does have some use of his graveyard, but Selvala doesn't need the graveyard. You also have to remember that the graveyard was intended to be a place for cards to no longer be available, why some people run methods to exile graveyards. Thank you for reading this "wall of text" comment. I wish there were more cards like "Deflecting swat" in red.
Did boros actually get a cedh commander? I was unimpressed with koll when I first saw him, but now that Mitch has pointed out a combo it looks insane. And I even knew all of the cards in the initial combo, I just didn't think of the combo myself.
Discount grummgully, similar idea as the persist combo, but at sorcery speed. Though it isn't destroyed by rest in peace, the cage, or layline of the void
Jeweled Lotus, Mana Crypt, Sol Rig makes it happen on Turn One, no?? Lotus petal or Mox Opal would also work in place of lotus. Turn One : Mountain and Jeweled Lotus, Mana Crypt. Tap Crypt for 2, Sol Ring. Tap Sol Ring for 2, (3 floating), Altar. Then sac lotus for white, tap mountain, play commander. Use floating colorless for equipment.
I like it but to run this effectively you’ll need protection from countering so run cards like grand abolisher to shut out interaction or force a kill spell early on to secure a good chance victory. I play a decent bit of high power EDH. Wonder how this will stack up to others.
Nice, besides the koblods, I already own most of these cards. Edit: actually don't own most of those equipment, but I doubt they would be too expensive.
Manna crypt, altar of dementia, Dual land, Mox Amber, simian spirit guide, ornithopter, free equipment. Cast crypt cast alter play land exile guide cast commander cast ornithopter cast mox amber tap amber for shuko equip to ornithopter sac to alter then repeat. Turn one win
Turn one Combo, do the same using Manacrypt and a lotus petal and simian spirit guide or mox diamond or chrome mox or jeweled lotus or LED. There is an second route as land u can use ancient tomb or city of traitors and then you need up to three of the colored fast mana. It also works with sol Ring and goblin Bombardment but then you probably need an Rite of Flame too.
Turn: ancient tomb tap for 2, cast boros signant, cast mana crypt tap for 2 use one for atler of the brood and the other of sol ring then tap sol ring for 2, use one to cast shuko and the other to activate the signant and cast koll then mill them all out turn 1.
huh... it's not Monowhite (one day...!), but with the sheer speed and redundancy this combo can have built into the deck, I suspect we'll see a few more Boros decks on our favourite neighbourhood cEDH channels when Kaldheim drops...
Land, jeweled lotus, sol ring/mana crypt, altar of dementia/goblin bombardment, impact tremors (both only if your land is a plains), 0 cost creature, lightning greeves/shuko, and then obviously your commander for a turn 1 win
Worth pointing out that you'd need to have produced at least 5 mana before turn 2 is over to manage this. That means, turn 1 land -> sol ring/mana crypt -> arcane signet/mindstone/thought vessel -> Shuko, followed by turn 2 Koll and Goblin Bombardment. It's a highly unlikely scenario. Turn 3 or 4 is doable though. However, after having seen this deck once, your play group will have worked out that removing Koll completely disables your strategy, so I wouldn't advice playing this, honestly. It's a one-trick-pony glass cannon.
t1 mana crypt into sol ring, paper mache lotus, play a basic, sac lotus and tap the land for koll, use the floating from crypt to play shuko, play ornithopter, tap sol ring for altar, proceed to sac and win. full 7 card grip XD, but its basically the same hand..... plus like 200$....
See this is why Tiana and Feather returned the card at end of turn; they even said they did it that way specifically to prevent this sort of thing! (Not that this is NECESSARILY bad, just weird to see it walked back)
T1 Rograk, legend mox, plains, manacrypt, altar of dementia/blasting station, simian spirit guide, shuko, easy. Play rograk, play mox and plains to cast commander, cast manacrypt for sac outlet, exile simian spirit guide to cast shuko, equip shuko go of

To be fair
Simic has had this for so long it's just a gut reaction at this point

play white land that can be tapped (card 5), tap for white
exile simian spirit guide(card 6) for red mana
play commander
Play ornithopter(card 7)
The rest you already know : )

Boros: “oh, well I found these artifacts and I saw how many games you were winning with mill. So I thought I’d try it”
Dimir “You’re always ruining things for me Boros, this is why WOTC hates you. I’d make you draw cards out of pity but you still wouldn’t be at a full hand size”
This was soo funny to read your comment needs more love and likes lol 😊😊
@@dess8815 hey thanks, whatever makes you guys laugh and smile in these trying times
@@rennac3152 I hope you stay safe and keep posting that funny shit lol
@@dess8815 but of course
@@rennac3152 Well have a great night or day 😊😊😊
that seems nice and balanced. FINALLY good quality kaldheim cards.
I see your Boros combo and raise you my turn 3 Zirda Monolith Deck
cards needed in hand: a perfect 7: mox opal, mox amber, mana crypt, altar of dementia, plateau, rograh son of rohgahh, and shuko.
turn 1: mox opal, mox amber, mana crypt, tap mana crypt play altar of dementia, play plateau, cast rograhh son of rohgrahh, tap plateau play shuko, tap mox amber and mox opal to cast commander. win.
Just because you can win turn 2, doesn’t mean you always should...unless it’s cedh. If you pull off a turn 2 win at a casual table you’re probably gonna irritate the table.
I agree. There's a few ways to build this commander
Thats why this deck wouldn't play with those tables. Majority of players have multiple decks at different levels. This would sit higher up on the power scale, probably right below CEDH
@@jdavis2609 yeah, I don't think it's cedh although it might sneak the occasional win on a cedh table
Wouldn't Aetherflux Reservoir be a good card to combo out with because of the ability to recast your creature multiple times?
"kobolds are finally good somewhere"
Rush has entered the chat
It's teshar but with equipment and an extra colour that can go off turn two?? Sounds pretty good to me.
turn one with jeweled lotus
I don't see a decklist for this Commander on the TCGplayer decklist link. Will you be adding one soon?
Your turn 1 god hand is: 1 plains, altar of dementia, memnite, shuko, mana crypt, and either lotus petal, simian spirit guide, or jeweled lotus.
Cho-arrim legate and kyren legate can also usually be used as free creatures for the combo!
Don’t forget that skull clamp that could help you dig for combo pieces
Me watching this video:
Let's go!
When I see the Thumbnail:
BOROS?
Done!
I've Been thinking about making a Boros Deck, Thanks!
finally, its been years since I've seen a boros commander worth playing.
Feather the redeemed is a boss commander.
@@rhainex5952 true but she only really wants a fast game which isn't my play style. While Koll can be a combo or classic Boros equipment.
Wyleth is a good one.
@@raulcontreras8297 ngl I was really disappointed with them. I think a good Boros commander is somewhere between them and Akiri. The newest one.
@@noahhoffenberg6971 rograhk and arden is amazing. I played my first two games and popped off super quick and alpha strike my two buddies by turn 5
Pulled the alternate art from a pre-release kit. Gonna build this deck and test it out. Thanks for the deck tech. Should be fun to run against more powerful decks.
What card uses the art in this video that has all the swords, Sensei Top, and artifacts?
Land, mana vault, jeweled lotus. Others include lotus petal, Simian spirit guide, mana crypt, sol ring as mentioned.
At 8:05 ish Mitch, you said Altar of the Blood instead of Brood...lol
So weird hearing Mitch say Sol Ring
I have a question: if you are using an equipment with equip-sacrifice a creature, shouldn't the combo be unable to work since you pay the equip cost in the layer before the equipment is attached to the net0 creature, which will result in the commander not triggering?
Great addition to my Rograkh and Ardenn deck.
Lotus petal, mana crypt, sol ring, and a signet (arcane or boros), these are the ramp peices needed to pull this off turn 1, and remember to draw cause this needs 8 cards to pull off. And its fairly budget, except for mana crypt. But have fun with this knowledge.
Turn 1:
Plains, Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, Exile Simian Spirit Guide, cast Koll, Shuko, Rohgahk, Altar of Dementia.
GG
My favorite part about this video is I was already using this win con in a boros deck. This commander just makes it even better!!!
Scram could give you a draw and gerrard could make it even more fun. And if you need more artifcacts you could put in a bomberman package haha
Mana crypt, sol ring, jeweled lotus or lotus petal, ornithopter, a colored land, altar of dementia, and shuko in starting hand. Highly unlikely, but it's a turn one win.
Use a lion's eye diamond instead of a Mana flower, and use goblin bombardment instead of altar of dementia, and that's a less risky play.
@@heftybandicootgaming5047 definitely better with goblin bombardment, one eldrazi titan and you are just sad and defeated
Impulsive pilferer will work as well, since it creates a treasure token when it dies.
Honestly, Boros really needed some broken cards
Will you make a pauper version of this deck, Mitch?
Not much i can add to what has been said. Some creatures could be mana dumps for token creation. Doomed traveler, garrison cat, hunted witness, grim initiate. only if you have the sacrifice effects though with auto equip.
Sorry to have to ask, but is there a direct link to this deck, I tried searching the TCG link that was in the description, but I am not able to find this decklist! :/
Thanks for the share and thanks in advance for the link :D
The mana from jeweled lotus can only be spent on your commander, so you won't be able to cast goblin bombardment.
@@fidly4 I guess in that case altar is mandatory and ud need a sol ring as well
Besides the combo I’m confused on this cards design. Why does it benefit equipped/enchanted token and nontoken? It seems to split the focus of the deck a tiny bit.
white has plenty to creatures that create tokens on cast.
I think the main thing was to benefit going wide with equipment/auras, and the best payoff for that was to protect your creatures from dying.
But, in a go wide deck they didn't want to discourage you from playing tokens, so they went ahead and a gave them a stat boost.
I love combos with Goblin Bombardment!
Sweet combo! Don't think I want to go all in combo, but having Koll in the 99 with some of these cards offer a nice backup plan
I was going to make this deck regardless just based on name. Now I'm glad I won't be laughed at as much
That was the first deck i ever made, Pebbles, and first deck i toke to my first tournament. Wow...i fell old, 21 years ago. Nice that they brought it back.
Its Fruity Pebbles in commander!!!!❤❤❤❤CLASSIC deck!!!
You are on top of these spoilers, dude! I hope you're having fun!
INCREDIBLE! It’s Boros AND uncommon! Need an edit on your OP uncommon commanders vid!
I wish there were more cards like "Deflecting swat" in red.
ok maybe im dumb but i gotta know; how exactly does lightning grieves work for this combo, if it gives the card attached to it shroud?
Hey Mitch with the new spoiler for maskwood nexus that deck you wanted to create might be possible!
I know! I’m pumped!
I can tell you the equipments that say when it comes to play attach them are dirt cheap and Shuko isn't too expensive either
Buy now well their cheap
Really refreshing to see Boros get more steam like this! Keep the power coming Wizards! With any luck..theyll shift some of that power to mono-white?!
Also worth noting Deathrender work as a combo piece with Koll
Badass! Just started playing Boros. This could be fun to build
I really like the idea of a fast boros combo deck sounds fun
Hello I want to build this deck. I have some cards yet Im missing some... is there a link where I download the list.
huh... it's not Monowhite (one day...!), but with the sheer speed and redundancy this combo can have built into the deck, I suspect we'll see a few more Boros decks on our favourite neighbourhood cEDH channels when Kaldheim drops...
So something like metallic mimic on construct and walking ballista is inf damage?
Land, jeweled lotus, sol ring/mana crypt, altar of dementia/goblin bombardment, impact tremors (both only if your land is a plains), 0 cost creature, lightning greeves/shuko, and then obviously your commander for a turn 1 win
I just need the decklist, love this!
cathodion could also work, but youd have to have the initial 3 mana to cast it. after that it creates the mana needed to cast itself.
(Not that this is NECESSARILY bad, just weird to see it walked back)
Who doesn't love a good combo
Can you please make a Deck Tech for this commander! I’ve never played a Boros deck and this seems like an awesome first commander to try out
Cript, mox diamond, land, lotus petal, the mox with metalcraft, altar, shuko and ornithopter
T1
Rograk, legend mox, plains, manacrypt, altar of dementia/blasting station, simian spirit guide, shuko, easy.
Play rograk, play mox and plains to cast commander, cast manacrypt for sac outlet, exile simian spirit guide to cast shuko, equip shuko go of
Alright, I feel more informed after this video. Koll is 'kill on sight'.
