I tried to weld truck disc brakes with both standard MIG wire and steel rod MMA´s. Seams looked good to me as I welded, but when I after slapped the disc with a hammer, the seams FELL t.f. OFF ! Anyone here know why ? What rods and prep should I use to weld disc brakes ?

Misleading thumbnail and summary. Much more difficult to source items are needed than the brake disc; luckily I was able to sh*t the large metal pulleys of just the right dimensions!👍

Nic mChine but Id thought it was going to be built with stuff we mightcall have - like the starting brake disc. No idea where the specialist bending wheels come from and if having to buy those parts then may as well buy a bender?

Tengo una pregunta : Si usted tuviera que inventar una polea y no tiene torno ni tornero ? ¿ Podría hacer su propia polea ?. Yo ví en una oportunidad que un señor de Perú (gente muy creativa también) hizo una polea grande para doblar tubos redondos. El agarró un tubo redondo de espesor de pared medianamente grueso. Cortó el tubo por toda su mitad longitudinal, luego la dobló en circulo, le puso dos láminas circulares perforadas en su centro (una arriba y otra abajo). Soldó las tapas a círculo (hecho de mitad de tubo redondo) y quedó hecha una polea. Le dejo la idea, porque no todos pueden conseguir una polea tan grande y a veces es muy costosa. Ojalá usted un dia nos pueda mostrar como hacerse una polea "homemade" o hecha por uno mismo.

Could have saved yourself a LOT of work by just plug-welding the plate through the lugnut holes.
Great skills but I would be clamping the material when drilling, your fingers are too precious to get stuffed up by metal flying around on the end of a drill bit.

Well, this device seems to work, at least up to a point, however, it's not a machine. You can call it a tool or a device or whatever you want, but a machine has a motor or an engine.
And suddenly those ready made pulleys appear in the hand out of nowhere. Only one radius, no change outs for optional radius bending and tubing sizes.
Some people can be so picky!
First, you need all the tools and parts
Second, how many times does it take to learn how to do it
Third, only someone with knowledge of metal craftsmanship can do it right

Убить день на тяжëлую железяку которая развалится на десятом гибе обычной среднестенной трубы. Да ещё гнуть она может только то что спокойно гнëтся руками.
Ну такое себе устройство! Мне такие одноразовые поделки стыдно показывать. И, кстати, под тонкостенки из дерева быстрее, дешевле и так же на три-шесть гибов. Но конструкция легче, без сварки и быстрее собирается.

nice, simple little machine.....if you mount it to something narrow but heavy, you can do more complex bends.......the table top restricts you somewhat...

the most important parts were the two pulley wheels. not everybody has those just lying around. if you'd made those two pulleys interchangeable, you could a sharper bend on your pipes. the brake hub played a minor part and could have been substituted for something easy to use

True. I also have all that stock lying around my shop inventory, but those pulley wheels are just not easy to come by.

When I saw the title and brake roter my mind went a different way with it,
I was looking at all the holes drilled for lugs thinking you could do an adjustable bender and do many different sizes of pipe or flat bar using the holes and a pin to hold each die , there are sevral ways you could do this, this one seems pretty good but it limited to a set sizes of material. , you wont do muffler pipes on it.
But its pretty clever as it is.
Its a wonder what you can do with a few scrap parts and some thoughts about what to make with it.
Thats as good as a commercial type of bender. If something is too hard to bend you can always extend the lever to get more leverage.
Great idea & design.Just one suggestion, clamp down your work on the drill press! I have had steel spin around & almost get me.have a great day

I was just told about a concept from a friend! He was taught you take a particular bucket/tub, fill it with enough high concentrated soda water, connected negative battery charging terminal clamp to rusted metal part, put a rod down in water not touching part, connected positive terminal clamp to rod, let brew over night, and come back to completely new looking, rust free part later? Think that was the formula!
I made one of those using a plastic 55 gallon drum and a large 12v battery charger, worked like a champ. I think they are called electrolysis tanks

始めまして、楽しかった、他の国の方々も、言われている様に、ローターの廃品を、使い、グラインダーで滑車を作ると思いました、そのサイズなら2枚合わせて、内側をボルト締めし回転指せながら丸溝を掘る(要は2枚のプーリー)で、板状の物は、最初にローターの内側に、5ｍｍサイズでパイプカバー入れるとローター幅まで、下のローターに、角度調整メモリ付けると、正確な物が何回も作れます、市販のベンダーは、そうなってます、で、バイスが確りと有るのは見えましたから、バイスに固定する様に！上から下にやる様に変えると、女の子でも力いらないのでは？場所はなるべく広く、使う時だけに、アンビルの棲家でもいいよね、多分鉄枠、鉄筋の作業小屋でしょ、壁に使える様にすると、必要な時だけ、使える様になります、廃品を使い、創意工夫大好きです、ステンレス18ー8を9mm100本万力の口を20mm開けて手曲げした時は欲しかった、楕円形同じ物！珠に見に来ます！
