Of course more info comes out after I post this video - Both upcoming Retroid Pocket releases will have a Snapdragon 865 chipset. Raw performance will be a bit better than the RP4 Pro but with wider GPU driver support, and the potential for ARM Linux distribution support down the line. Expect solid PS2/GC gameplay, mostly at 1080p.

Where the heck did you get these specs from? Especially the chip they're using? Can give the source, please?

The whole glass front on RP5 and RP Mini means fingerprint magnet, and it is easier to get scratches on.

Retroid customer service is pretty great. I had an issue with my rp3 touch screen first batch and it was taken care of. I went from rp2,rp3,rp3+,skip rp4 and rp4pro but now interested in rp5. Odin 2 pro my 7 year old daughter never gave it back 😂 That's her roblox machine now. Odin 2 is amazing too.

I LOVED MY FLIP until I got my RP4 Pro. I also have an ODIN 2, and an RG CUBE, somewhere there's also a few old Anbernics floating around. BUT 100% AGREE. can have your pocketability and 5.5in screen as well. I would love a Flip 2. LUCKILY, mine has yet to show any hinge issues. SO... there's that. Also, those sliders on the Flip worked way better than they should have.

Great Review. GoRetroid I would expect will leave some room between themselves and AYN but I’ve been wrong before. I’m just bummed they aren’t Bri going back the RP Flip

I'm the opposite of you. I don't want the fin grips to be a part of the device itself, for 3 reasons: 1. The ability to remove them means you can make the device more pocketable if you're really going to shove it in your pocket. 2. You have options. If you don't like the fin shape they came up with (for example, the RP4 one's is thicker than the RP3), you can get a 3D printed one off Etsy to your liking. 3. The TPU fins act as a shock absorber for impacts. I own three different RP3+s before the fin grips came out. If they fell off the couch or the bed or something, they would always break a trigger or crack the case. As soon as the TPU fin grips came out and I slapped them on, the amount of wear my devices were incurring from random bumps and dings dropped off dramatically. Having the fins built in means we can't have these nice features without adding actively useless bulky TPU mass to the device.

It really looks like both the switch and steam deck inspire other handheld designers to have the same general shape- and it works well, and retains both 4:3 and 16:9

Honestly the RP4 Pro is bordering on too big as far as I'm concerned. I don't like handhelds that are so big they just aren't good at all to carry around...more like 'couch devices'. The Retroid Mini looks to be about the perfect size. For now I will stick with my older devices - DSi XL and new 3DS XL since I'm mostly playing DS and GBA games right now. I also have PSP and Vita and do not see much need for a gigantic "handheld". I do have a Retroid 2 and a 2+ and a couple older Anbernic devices but I don't use them. I also have a Powkiddie RGB 30 with is great for Pico 8.

The whole exposed screen thing. There are people that design 3D print case and grip for many handheld models. It snaps over the front to protect the screen when shoving into pocket, pouch, bag, pack . it snaps on the back giving an increase in ergonomic grip during play. I would get one of those from the sea of Et.
A lot of the handhelds come with screen protectors, so at minimum they should be in use.
I don't have a Steam Deck, not even close.
