Good video. My recommendation. You need to call each parts you grab by the print name and type of hardware you use. you could also modify video by putting caption of parts name and hardware used. Also, You could file the 3D printing parts by color.
Thanks. I can’t edit the video now that it’s up. I had all the files nicely organized in folders but that got lost when uploading to MyMiniFactory. Not sure why my file structure was lost since they say they will maintain the folder structure. I do have a pdf with file names and what they go to, I’ll be adding it to the discord channel soon.
my shocks that i bought use a smaller screw top and bottom. are there any shocks that come with that 3mm size ball socket. i see that ur 55mm shock had that metal piece when it was laying on your table but then when you were installing it it was removed. it seems like way too much play to not have anything in there.
It’s hard to find shocks that length with a 3mm ball. Most people just pop the ball out. You could print a small bushing to fill in the play if it bothers you. I haven’t noticed any issues with it being a little loose.
Love this, I am in the prosses of printing my own as we speak I noticed that you call out 2 different type of m3 screws i was wondering does it matter which assortment you buy? i need help understanding which motor to buy as well and understanding the motor with what type of amp ESC to buy
The only spot that requires button head screws is inside the tunnel at the front so the track doesn’t hit. Anywhere else you can use whatever type you prefer. For motor I recommend 2200kv brushless with minimum 60amp ESC. Go higher amp ESC and sensored brushless if you can afford it. You’ll find tons of help and recommendations on the discord server.
There is a list of links to items included with the files. It seems around 2200kv and 80 amp ESC is the best combo. Then a good high torque metal gear servo. I print mine in PLA, a lot of people prefer PLA +. Some brands are stronger than others. There's a lot of good info on the Discord Server.
I notice during the video you don’t mention about the front spacer & at the end at 10:31 You still have it on your work bench & I was just wondering what you need to do with the spacer?
It mounts with the front holes on the skid. It’s there for adding a limit strap. I haven’t seen a need for the limit strap but wanted to provide the option.
@@BuildItBetter3D Never used that software. I use fusion 360. And I have made 2 snowmobiles already. Nothing like yours and detail. I was testing out designs. Reason I asked about software was because I have been testing out a weight ballace system using a gyro and a reverse switch mixing so that I can shift the weight and counter steer to carve like real sleds. I own a 2020 and a 2021 skidoo 850 summits sleds and thats why I want an rc one. That and im huge into rc with over 250 rc planes, helis, car, trucks, boats, and you name it. When I print yours and see how it all goes together, I will let you know about my counter weight ideas and how they turn out.
Sounds great. I have used Fusion a little, but I’m more comfortable with blender. Also if I used fusion I couldn’t sell my stuff without paying for the commercial version, and I can justify that. I have been thinking about a gyro system too, seems like something could be done.
Yeah, it’s held up really well. The knuckles seem to be the most common thing to break. I’ve started printing them in tpu, but hard to say if that’s much better. It gives a little more on hard hits but also gets brittle in the cold.

Plan on three weeks. I can get all the parts done in about a week and a half, but I’ve already gone through all the process of learning my printer and have everything dialed in. A lot of people on the discord channel are getting it done in 2-3 weeks though, even some that are new to printing.
I sell all the printed parts for $150 plus shipping. Right now I'm 4 weeks out on orders, but I can put you in line for one if you want. I am not currently selling them put together. You can join the discord channel and ask some of the authorized sellers if they will build you one. discord.gg/mF5BzVw23a You can also message me on there, it will be easier to respond and share pictures of what you want.
Easy to understand and follow along! Nice work! Can’t wait for the rest of my pieces to finish printing!
Thanks, can’t wait to see it done.
Ur a very underrated channel

@@BuildItBetter3D do you print using supports for the holes?
Files with _SP in the name need supports. I do not put supports inside holes.
@@BuildItBetter3D thank you
What are is the best motor esc servo and would I only be able to print with pla

how many spools of fillimant does it take to make the whole thing
Around 2kg. If I buy a roll of each color I plan to use that’s always been enough.
which filament you used for the skid and the body?
They were a generic silk pla. I wouldn’t recommend using silk. It was far to fragile and I’ve replaced all of it now.
I notice during the video you don’t mention about the front spacer & at the end at 10:31

do you print them all in 100% infill??
I do 8+ walls and about 50% infill. More walls is stronger than more infill, in my experience anyway.
When we buy the files it comes with a document telling us everything we need to buy like screws shocks and everything ?
Yes, there is a list included. You can also join on discord and the list is pinned to the welcome section.
Do you have a file that you don’t need to glue it on the files
Yes, there’s a solid piece if your print bed is big enough.
@3:35 what is that piece named in the files? i printed all the skid parts but I cant find it.
That part is called " Suspension_Front_Mount"
I ordered the same 55 mm shocks you have in this video but mine are too small for the screws do you know why?
I pop the ball ends out. They work without the ball end. They’ll be a bit loose but it won’t hurt anything.
@@BuildItBetter3D ok thank you very much I was debating on sending These back to buy different ones.
@@BuildItBetter3D also the same thing happened with the 80 mm should I just take out the end for those as well?
The 80mm ones should have a hole that fits m3, if they are too small then I might consider getting different ones. Up to you though.
if you have a big enough printer can you print the rails as 1 peice?
Yes, there is a one piece included if your printer is big enough.
@@BuildItBetter3D how long are the rails?
One piece rails are 290mm long
Do you need all of the bearings?
Yes, you’ll want all of them.

I did all of the modeling in Blender.

will this be printable on an ender 3 pro?
Yes it is.
What type of filament do you use?
I’m using standard PLA, usually from hatchbox, and any generic tpu. Many people prefer PLA+ but I personally haven’t tried it.
@@BuildItBetter3D awesome, thanks. And it has held up okay? I don't plan to beat on it, just drive like your videos

Can i buy a full built model ?
Yes, there are authorized sellers on the discord server that can build one for you. Link to join discord in description.
What are the dimensions of this sled after it is assembled?
24” long 10” wide
its around 22 inches not exactly sure im still building it but with what i have printed its around there

80mm for front and one on skid. 55mm for other on skid.
