Awesome compilation of highlights showing nesting and fledging of a family of Tufted Titmice.
This video was made in the summer of 2006 as a fun project for my middle-school age son. The idea came out of pure curiosity -- "What goes on inside the birdbox?"
We learned a lot about "bird behavior". We strictly adhered to rule of "watch but don't interfere"
Nature works in mysterious ways. Several folks who have seen this video ask the question "what happened to chick #5?" The unfortunate answer is that chick #5 -- being born a day later than it's siblings -- was just slightly smaller in size than the other 4 and just could not compete. It is just part of the drama of nature ("survival of the fittest")
